《Snatched》Chapter 13

Ugh today really isn't going well for me.
You cringed as you walked forwards, every step shifting the broken bones in your abdomen.
How does Izu keep moving after breaking his bones, this really sucks.
"Y/n are you sure your okay?" Tsu croaked worriedly "You were amazing out there but I find it hard to believe you didn't sustain any injuries."
"What are you talking about? I'm just that awesome! Really, don't worry, I'm just tired from using my quirk so much."
I can't have them knowing how bad I'm doing, I need to be able to protect my friends... and Mineta I guess.
You shifted the arm that wasn't around Izuku's shoulder to cover the blood seeping through your costume. You were kind of glad for the pain, it was the only thing keeping you awake as you moved farther away from the source of your borrowed quirk.
Ha! Shoto would kill me if he saw me now... I wonder if he's okay?
Your thoughts drifted to the well being of your classmates.
I'm sure they're fine, they got into the hero course after all, they can hold their own against a bunch of low level villains... I hope.
Suddenly a huge crash shook the building, All Might had thrown the Nomu over his head so hard there was smoke rising up from the ground.
"Are you guys seeing this!" Mineta gushed "All Might is on a whole other level!"
Tsu sighed "And yet he still has to look at his notes in class."
You squinted over your shoulder trying to see through the debris, scanning for the Number One Hero.
"Maybe we were worried about these bad guys for nothing, All Might's unstoppable!"
You would have to disagree with Tsu on that.
When you were helping Izuku with his training, you and All Might had talked a lot, and you learned all about his fight with All For One and the effects it had on his body. You knew that All Might could only be in his muscle form for three hours at most, and you had a feeling he was already at his limit. You had read the news, All Might had already done a lot of hero work this morning, that had to be the reason he wan't here earlier.
This is bad, he can't keep this up for long.
The smoke finally cleared enough for you to see what was going on.
Your breathing hitched.
The smoke villain had warped the top half of the Nomu away so that it wasn't slammed into the ground. Putting All Might in a terrible position. Even from where you were standing, you could see the Nomu's fingers digging into All Might's previous wound.
You felt Izuku stiffen, he saw it too.
Oh no
"Wait Izuku don't-"
"Tsu can you hold Y/n for me?"
"Ribbit, sure, but what are you going to do?"
Izuku carefully handed you to Tsu who held you gingerly around the waist.
"Izuku stop! You don't know what your doing!"
He stumbled away, not responding to your pleads and them broke out into a run towards the Nomu holding All Might.
Your heart clenched in fear for your friend.
"IZUKU!"
You felt a surge of adrenaline pulse through your body as you tore yourself away from Asui cringing only slightly at the movement of your ribs.
"Are you crazy! Come back!" Mineta exclaimed.
You ran as fast as you could behind him trying your best to catch up but stumbling every few feet.
No no no Izuku stop! I can't lose you!

As the two of you got closer to the Number One Hero, you used the last of your energy to close the gap between you, but then your green haired friend did something unexpected.
He jumped... right into the warp gate villain
Fuck
In a last attempt to save your friend you reached out throwing yourself forward and grabbed his ankle.
Yes!
Using the strength quirk you were still holding on to, you threw him as far away as possible just as an explosion combusted right where he was standing.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY DEKU!"
"Katsuki?"
The blond was standing on top of the warp villain holding him down by his neck.
"Y/n? What happened to Deku?"
You were lying on your stomach due to the way you had jumped, "He's-"
Suddenly the temperature dropped drastically and ice encased the arms of the Nomu holding All Might.
"Shoto?"
You followed the path of ice to see your icy-hot friend staring coolly and the villains. "One of your poorly trained thugs told me you're here because you think you can kill All might." he scoffed.
The hero in question was able to flip out of the hold of the Nomu and stand beside the boy who had saved him from its grasp.
Kirishima also appeared and tried to land a hit on the CEO of hands.
"Damn, talk about timing." you shakily stood up feeling the adrenaline that had been keeping you going drain out of your body.
Ohhhhhh my, this is probably not great.
You looked down at your hands which had been clenched around your stomach to see they were stained crimson. You could see purple bruises beginning to form around your body and your head began to spin from exhaustion and blood loss.
Unlike some people *cough cough* Izuku * cough cough* your body had normal reactions to injuries and stamina loss.
Your head pounded and blocked out all sound except for the earsplitting sound of your beating heart.
The only person who had noticed you was Kasuki and he seemed to be busy bragging about how he had taken down the smoke villain.
Your vision began to become hazy and you knew you were only seconds from passing out.
I can't pass out or I'll probably die and I don't want that. Come on Y/n stay awake!
Suddenly through the haze of your vision you saw the Nomu leap at Katsuki who was only a few feet in front of you.
Okay take two
You lunged towards Katsuki using your strength quirk and grabbed him around the waist, pushing him out of the way only to have yourself be thrown farther away by an unknown force.
The two of you rolled to a stop with Katsuki landing on top of you.
I have no idea how I had the energy to do that.
You still couldn't hear anything but the sound of your pulse, but your sudden actions must have jolted your body somewhat awake because your vision was slightly better.
You looked up to see the boy you had just saved staring down at you, his wide eyes filled with a mixture of emotions the main one being worry.
Aww he cares.
You were suddenly aware of the crushing weight on your stomach and started coughing up blood. You raised your hand weakly and tapped him on the leg signaling for him to get up.
Before he had the chance to move, he was roughly pushed away by a boy with white and red hair. Shoto's usual mask of indifference was gone replaced by one of worry.

Oh, hi Sho, please don't kill me.
He yelled something at you but you couldn't hear him, by the angry and terrified look in his eyes you figured it was something along the lines of: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!
You tried to respond but only coughed up more blood. The metallic taste making you want to through up.
His body shook with rage but his eyes held only fear.
You turned your head and spat out the blood in your mouth.
"Oops." you managed.
It really wasn't as bad as it looked, your strength quirk was keeping your together... for now.
At your words his face straightened out so that nobody could see the pain in his eyes. He lifted you up gently, bridal style, careful not to jostle you.
Now you could see the people around you.
Izuku was staring at you, tears in his eyes.
I must have thrown him this way, I hope he isn't hurt.
Katsuki's eyes were wide as he looked away in guilt and Kirishima was standing beside you talking quickly, even though you couldn't hear him.
You could feel the vibrations from the battle happening right beside you even from Shoto's arms.
Your vision was starting to fail you again, the black spots returning. You shook your head trying to regain your senses but to no avail.
What will wake me up. Thinnkkkkk Y/n! I just need to survive a little longer.
All of a sudden you were hit with an idea that would definitely send another shock of adrenaline through you.
"Katsuki, come here." you muttered.
You were worried that he didn't hear you because he wasn't moving, but before you tried to speak again, the blond boy walked over to you slowly not making eye contact.
As he got closer, Shoto's grip on you tightened but you paid him no mind.
Soon, Katsuki was close enough for you to reach him, he said nothing and glared at the ground.
The USJ shook from a huge explosion, but you didn't care about that right now. You knew All Might would be fine, you however, might not be.
You reached out, suppressing a cry of pain from the movement, and grabbed Katsuki's hand, he looked at you shocked.
You had no idea what was going on in his head but frankly you didn't care right now, all you wanted to do was not die.
You brought his arm up towards you, with no resistance from him, and slammed his palm into your face.
Shoto gripped you hard and tried you yank you away from Katsuki, whose entire body had stiffened, but you held tightly to his wrist using the strength quirk.
You wished you could hear what was going on, it would be hilarious.
Another blast sent your group skidding backwards, but everyone stayed on their feet.
You inhaled the sent of nitro glycerin, the familiar caramel smell reminding you of when Katsuki would threaten you with his quirk when you were younger.
The adrenaline came in fast, your body thinking you would get blown up.
Years of conditioning yourself to be terrified when you smelt Katsuki was finally coming in handy. Your head cleared and your vision became normal it was only a temporary fix but it would work for now.
You eased up your grip on the blond's hand and he took the opportunity to pull his arm away.
"Okay, that work better than I expected, Sho you can put me down."
You looked up at the boy holding you in his arms and were met with an expression of pure confusion and slight... anger? You looked at the other three boys around your and saw the same look.
"Y/n... what the hell." Kirishima voiced the thoughts of everyone surrounding you.
"Oh my god, I'll explain later, put me down I'm fine."
"PLUS ULTRAAAAAA!"
All Might's battle cry was followed by the biggest blast of them all, which sent an earthquake-like tremble through the entire building.
You craned your neck to the side just as Nomu was sent flying threw the roof of the USJ and into the sky.
"Good riddance you ugly motherfucker." you mumbled.
Everyone gawked at All Might as he stood straight. "I really have gotten weaker, back in my hay day that only would have taken five hits, this time it took over 390."
"Oh damn... K Sho put me down." The boy didn't move, refusing your request so you wiggled around until he couldn't hold onto you anymore.
"Y/n!"
You fell to the ground with a thump hissing at the pain, which was only slightly subdued by the adrenaline and tried to stand up.
Izuku rushed towards you but you waved him off.
"Don't worry I'm fine, a little bloody, but I'm fine."
You got to your feet slowly and then were hit with a wave of dizziness and started to fall.
This is going to be quite the tumble.
You braced yourself but you never hit the ground.
"Damn it Y/n! Your fucking hurt! Stop trying to play the hero!" you glared at Katsuki who had been the one to catch you.
"Isn't that what I'm supposed to do?! Be a hero?!" It came out more aggressive than you meant, but it had no affect on the blond boy.
"Not fucking like this!" he spat.
You could tell he was really worried about you, if he wasn't, he wouldn't say anything, but the fact he did made you almost rethink your actions...almost.
"Hey! I saved your ass!"
Katsuki gritted his teeth "And now look at you! You can't even fucking stand Y/n!"
He was right, you couldn't stand, you were still being held up by his arms. Your body was littered with bruises and scrapes. You had at lest two broken ribs which were causing your abdomen to bleed constantly and there was a trickle of blood leaking down across your face from the times you had been thrown around.
"As long as I'm using that guy's strength quirk I'll be fine!"
"What?" Izuku asked "What quirk?"
You felt the temperature of the area around you drop.
Oh no, mistakes were made.
"Are you using a villain's quirk to stay awake Y/n?" Shoto demanded with malice in his voice that reminded you of his Dad.
"Maybe." You shrunk into Katsuki's arms to avoid what was coming next
"Y/n!" Shoto exclaimed in anger.
Shoto would always get really angry at you when you did something reckless or when you put yourself in danger. You asked him about it once but he had brushed you off.
"Hey guys I don't really get what's going on here." Kirishima butted in before things got out of hand.
Katsuki and Izuku were probably also pretty confused, Shoto was the only one who knew the full repercussions of your quirk.
Shoto returned to his cool persona but his voice still held an edge of fury "Y/n," he began "is using the quirk of a villain to keep herself awake, which means that when she inevitably stops using it, she will go into a coma, again."
Katsuki's grip on your arms tightened making you wince."What the hell Y/n!"
"What else was I supposed to do!?" you defended yourself.
"Not that!" Kirishima responded worriedly
Izuku's voice was strained "You can't be properly healed if you're in a coma Y/n!"
You had kept your head down so that you didn't have to watch their expressions but you glanced up to assure them you were fine, however, your attention was drawn to something else.
Your arguing had drawn attention to your group.
"Hey guys, umm, there are villains coming toward us."

Rekindle
My Newest, and at the same time, Oldest novel. This is a Rewrite of my very first novel that I begun when I was just starting out. It follows the story of Mark Floyd, a broken man who once tried to do what he thought was right... only to be stabbed in the back and thrown away. Now, pulled into a conflict that spans time and space, Mark has a choice to make; Stand up once more, even if it means facing an unknowable future, or let the Embers of his heart die and sink back into darkness. ----------------------------------- “For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity”. Once part of a Special Ops team in the US Army, Mark Floyd thought he had seen the worst that Humanity had to offer. That was until his final mission, one that would leave him a broken and shattered man, betrayed by the Country he served, and abandoned by society as a whole. His dreams filled with nightmares of the ones he failed to protect, mind and memories clouded by booze and more, Mark finds himself stumbling through life without purpose or desire. Life isn't done with Mark yet, however. For as long as even a single ember remains in a persons heart, here is still yet hope for the flames of Passion and Hope to be Rekindled. When the dying embers of Mark's heart catches the eyes of a Being far beyond his understanding, Mark finds himself thrown into a situation not even his years of training could prepare him for. Will this new chance be Mark's hope at both Redemption and Recompense? Or will it simply be the final nail in the coffin for a man already dead to the World? [This is a rework of my very first story. The general story will remain the same, however a few details have been tweaked, the chapters have be Edited better and some chapters have been broken down into smaller chunks for better flow and consistency. The biggest change will be to the System itself; It will be a lot less "Game-like", meaning no stats, levels or similar aspect, though skills will still be present in the form of "Programs". Instead, It'll focus more on the Sigil's nature as super-computers and how they change the world around them. This should make for a much more "natural" and less info-dumpy system.
