《Blurred Childhood》Epilogue

I had been sleeping when the alarm went off. The "employees I should've thought twice before hiring" alarm, I like to call it. I ignore it most of the time, because it's just some idiot wandering into the wrong room. Except...
I have no one on shift tonight!
I leapt out of bed and threw on a shirt, beginning a search through the house to see if some burglar had come in.
Nothing was broken, nothing was missing. I went to go check on the boys, just to make sure they're okay. Terry was still sleeping. Michael... his bed was empty. Where did he go? Was he the one in my office? He can't be! I never told him about it! Was it...
No. That's exactly it. His snitch of a sister. That's who.
I rushed out to the garage and down to the basement, which was still pitch black. Smart kid to not turn the lights on. I turned on the huge universal switch, and saw that Funtime Foxy and Funtime Freddy had fallen into a dogpile on the floor. Did Michael trick them? Just for protection in case they get up, I picked up a crowbar from the corner. Freddy and Foxy stayed where they were, even after a nudged them with the crowbar.
I heard talking from inside my office. It was Michael.
Very gently, I opened the door.
My blueprints were strewn across the floor, and Michael was sitting in front of my desk. Right in front of the box. Now I know he had seen too much. What I did next might've been slightly uncalled for.
I walked up to him and swung the crowbar against his head. He fell over, and a second later, the remnant of what he was rose out of the shell. I quickly grabbed a glass jar and waited for the soul to condense itself before I captured it.
I watched Michael dart around in the jar before giving up and resting at the bottom.
"Sorry," I whispered to him. "I never wanted you to see that." I hugged the jar to my chest. "You poor thing. What on earth am I going to tell your brother?"

The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.

The Shattered Circle
Aleyr Frostborn has survived a hundred prophecies of her defeat, breaking each one by slaying the champions of light sent to kill her. Amongst the forces of good, her very name is a curse, and with good reason. Beyond her own evil, it is said that so long as she lives, the reign of the Godslayer himself will last: the lich king who the terrified masses call the King in Black. While the kingdoms and empires that surround the blighted lands of the undead lands struggle to survive and beat back the tide of evil, the machinations of the Eternal Kingdom's dark court barely contain the bitter struggles for power between the forces that have made it what it is. With one foretold hero brutally snuffed out, another will inevitably arise. For Aleyr, the cycle only further embitters her towards the gods of good and all those who serve them. But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds. After all, many things can be broken, not just prophecies.
