《postponing forever》chapter 14

Isabel was completely stunned and confused, if Finn was going to ask Rachel to marry him then how did they end up in the mess they were now. Not together and certainly not engaged or married, so she asked him as much.
Finn sunk against the wall ‘God Iz, everything is a disaster what am I going to do without her’ he sobbed.
Isabel moved to try and comfort Finn but he shrugged her off, she wasn’t able to get anything out of him to explain what was going on.
‘I shouldn’t have listened but I just wanted her to be happy’ he cried.
Isabel couldn’t take anymore, Finn was an absolute wreck and it was obvious it wasn’t her that he needed. So making a decision she quickly left the apartment and headed towards Maria’s.
When Maria heard the knock at the door she looked at Rachel surprised. It had taken close to an hour to calm Rachel down but now they were happily watching the latest Cory Monteith movie and enjoying their favorite Ben & Jerry’s.
‘I wonder who that could be’ she said to Rachel as she got up to answer it.
‘Isabel’ she smiled surprised when she saw the talker women on the other side.
‘Hi Maria’ she smiled sadly ‘I’m sorry to barge in on you but I need to talk to Rachel’ she told her.
Rachel popped her head up over the couch when she heard Isabel’s voice and the mention of her name; she wasn’t aware that Maria had called Isabel and asked her to check on Finn.
‘Hey Iz’ she smiled. Isabel took in her friend’s appearance and frowned at what she saw. Rachel looked pale and thin in the face and it was obvious that this whole situation was taking its toll on her as well.
‘Rach, I know you don’t want to deal with this right now but I’m really worried about Finn’ she told her.
‘What’s wrong with him?’ she asked quickly.
‘He’s a mess, Rachel and I cant calm him down, I don’t know what to do. I panicked and came here’ she told her.

Rachel jumped off the lounge immediately and started heading towards the door. ‘Rachel, are you sure you should do this?’ Maria asked her friend worriedly.
‘Where is he?’ Rachel asked.
‘In his bedroom’ Isabel explained as her and Maria followed Rachel as she practically ran to the apartment she and Finn shared.
Rachel fidgeted nervously in the lift on the way up to her apartment ‘did he say anything?’ she asked Isabel.
‘Um nothing that made sense’ Isabel confessed leaving out the part about the engagement ring on purpose. If and when Finn and Rachel actually got around to talking everything over it would be up to him to show her or tell her about it.
Once they reached her floor Rachel took off out of the elevator into a dead run towards her apartment.
‘Finn’ she cried out racing into the apartment. She found him minutes later in the exact place Isabel had told her she left him. He was sobbing uncontrollably and mumbling something that she couldn’t understand.
‘Finn’ she fell onto the floor next to him and straddled his lap so that she could take him in her arms.
‘Finn, please it’s me’ she told him trying to calm him down.
Finn had no idea how long he had sat in the spot he was but he knew that he was totally out of control, he thought that he had heard Rachel calling for him but that would mean that she had come back to him and right now he refused to believe that.
‘Finn baby’ he heard again.
‘E-El’ he cried out uncertainly.
‘Yeah it’s me sweetie, please calm down’ she pleaded.
Maria and Isabel stood in the doorway watching the scene before them in shock. For Isabel she felt helpless that her brother, the person she had always turned to in times of trouble was sitting in front of her having a breakdown and that there was nothing that she could do about it.
Maria watched on in sadness, that her best friend and the man that she was convinced her best friend would grow old with were falling apart in front of her. It scared her because if Finn and Rachel couldn’t make it how did her and Michael or even Isabel and Alex think they could.

‘I’m sorry’ Finn whispered when he eventually calmed down. He looked at the clock and realised he had been sitting there for close to a half an hour by now.
Rachel looked up and found Maria and Isabel still standing there watching. ‘Can you guys leave us please?’ she asked them.
Isabel nodded ‘Call me later?’ she requested and Rachel nodded.
Maria on the other hand hesitated ‘Sorry to cut our night short Ria but’ she started.
‘Don’t even, Rachel your where you need to be but are you sure you don’t want me to stay?’
‘Um no’ she shook her head in the negative.
‘Okay, call me if you need anything, and I mean anything at all’ she told her.
‘Thank you’
When they were gone Rachel turned her attention back to Finn. ‘Are you okay now?’ she asked him.
Finn raised his face to meet hers then before lifting a hand and gently pushing a piece of stray hair behind her ear. It was a familiar move on his part and it brought comfort to him that she would still allow him to do it.
‘I thought you were gone’ he told her.
‘I was only at Maria’s’ she replied concerned at what she saw in front of her. Normally she could tell what Finn was thinking by his eyes but when she looked at them now they looked empty, dead.
‘Yeah so close yet so far away’ he mumbled sadly and quietly.
‘Talk to me’ she begged him then.
‘Like you talked to me earlier’ he replied sadly. There was nothing accusing in his tone, no fight Rachel acknowledged.
‘Your scaring me’ she cried then.
‘I’m sorry, I don’t mean to’ he whispered. He reached out and used his hands to remove her off his lap then, placing her gently beside him before pushing himself off the floor. He walked over to his bed and noticed that the ring was still on the bed where Isabel was looking at it before she had left so he quickly picked it up and placed it back in his second drawer.
‘What’s that?’ Rachel asked him. He hadn’t heard her walk up behind him.
‘N-Nothing’ he stuttered ‘I’m going to go have a shower’ he told her quickly avoiding her and heading towards the bathroom.
Rachel heard the door close and the shower start soon after and fell on the bed and closed her eyes. She was so tired and she felt as though her and Finn had done nothing but go around in circles every time they talked. Sure she was angry and she deserved to be but she should have talked to him last week when he had asked her, and she definitely should of talked to him today. She realised now that Finn was falling apart before her very eyes and she wondered if maybe he wasn’t the only one who had been blind for months now. Was Finn's dating Serena as a cry for help to her?
Her attention turned back to the object Finn had quickly shoved back into his drawer and she wondered what it could have been. Her and Finn had never had secrets but things had changed recently. Unable to help herself though and aware from the sound of water running that Finn was still in the shower she hesitantly opened the drawer. Inside was mostly filled with papers and photos of the two of them but amongst all that was the bag that she had seen in his hand earlier.
She pulled out the contents of the bag quickly, a small black box and a receipt. Her eyes raked over the receipt first.
‘Roswell Jewelers’ she murmured confused ‘Two thousand dollars’ she gasped. Her interest was peaked and just as she was about to open the box she realised that she had forgotten to pay attention to the sounds of the shower.
‘El, what are you doing?’ Finn's voice came from the doorway.

GIG: God In Gold
So let's cut the pretense: this is some garbage-tier weaboo fiction. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I feel it's important to say that this is some nonsense I write for fun. I don't think it's very good. I'd even go as far as to say that I'm not a good writer at all. I picked up a ball that started rolling when I was a kid and have been intermittently punting it towards the next chapter whenever I feel like it. And you can come on this garbage ride too if you really feel like it. Who knows, maybe there's some gold to be salvaged from this dumpster fire? Synposis: Satou Shibuya is a first year student at Niflheim's Kawagusa General Academy. He's also the self-proclaimed strongest power user, sporting a big enough number on his birth certificate to make a nuclear bomb glow green with envy. There's something to be said about a person whose head is so far up their own ass that you find yourself watching their every move with bated breath, ever curious to see which hole they'll dig themselves into next. This is not that kind of story. This is a story about pride, coming of age, but actually, this is a story about big, stupid superpowered fights. Update Schedule: Whenever.

Author's note: This is the first book in what is expected to be an eight-book series. The first few chapters aren't very good since they were written when I was about ten, but the quality improves around chapter 7. Please bear with it; I'll try to get the chapters in as soon as possible. Thanks!
