005. earth's mightiest 'heroes.'

PRESENT DAY, AUSTRALIA.

ANITUN IS LITERALLY GOING TOWARDS THE THING

that she has been trying hard not to encounter, maybe she was too tired last night to even process what she had done and why she accepted their dire need for her help, but it was too late, she can jump out of the jet if she wanted to, or get it stuck on a tornado but her fellow Eternals wouldn't let that happen... keeping an eye out for her whenever she moves a single muscle, especially Ikaris, drinking liquor in front of her as she tried to contain herself while eating whatever she can swallow.

The grandiosity of saving the Earth from the Deviants was quite too stressful than she first thought... out of all the things she could think about it had to be this... Anitun tried to occupy herself with the snack bar Kingo had in his jet, but with every bite of her brownies, comes every worrying thoughts inside her mind... she's been sitting on the jet for a few hours now The Philippines was quite far from Australia, what can she do about it?she had nothing else to think of anyways...

Turns out, Ajak wasn't the only one who told her to keep going, turns out it was her Asgardian friend too; brushing his Mjölnir against her shoulders as he bestowed her wise words like a King to his people, if he's not on Earth to protect it's people and it's inhabitants...

Anitun will... probably one of the most hardest thing to do, but after years of just existing in her manor, spending her days planting flowers and watering them, his wise words should finally be in good use... the memory was still fresh in her mind... she wanted to forget it in an awful extent, but then again she couldn't run away from her problems, they keep hunting her down... the burden is heavy, most definitely, but Thor's Mjölnir was a lot heavier ( He threw it at her one time, and she couldn't move an inch! )

She was uncertain at first, of course, any creature with a functioning brain would, Anitun wondered at first what there is for humans worth fighting for... they are quite the nuisance, always so full of irrational emotions and would throw it out to the people around them... then, she realised that she had acted just like them before, and still is, and she would've called herself a hypocrite already, a degrading insult that she would always tell to herself whenever she does anything stupid.

Vision of wraiths cradled her to sleep every night with soft lullabies of clamors of mourning loved ones, whispers of the haunting past; since she can't die... ( much to her advantage and disadvantage), she dreams about dying... the cold, harsh truth of a life ending, being put into a coffin and being buried in a nameless grave, beneath a laurel basking under the melancholic sun, hidden away in a cemetery of lost souls...

she had thought about ending it all...

but much to her dismay, she seems like she can't, having to know of the consequences of people mourning for her chances were low, but who knows... and having nowhere else to go after death...

...because, once again, she is not human, she never believed in any God, and any being as equal as them, so she doubts that the heavens would be kind enough to welcome her with open arms ─ Anitun had laced her hands with negligence, tight and shut... with all the advices she had gathered with the people around her in order to stop feeling the blues of her dead heart, many would always say to redeem herself, say grace and wait for the Gods to answer her pleas, as she trembles on her kneeling position and shiver at her hands clasped together in anticipation...

...but there is no God for her to pray, no grace to say... the only God that she could ever consider is the Celestial Arishem and she does not even know what they even look like, and it seemed that the only grace it accepts is to follow it's orders, no questions allowed, no answers provided for her, and no tears left to cry, no mercy to ask for... and yet, death was mercy, and she remained undying in the grasps of loneliness and broken virtues, with a lump stuck on her throat, unable to express her emotions in a wave of screams and broken cries...

Anitun had wondered too many times on what awaits for her, after things that are not even started yet, she had only known that she had a body to control, a name to be called by, strength to wield and a responsibility to shoulder... but what is an Eternal? What is she?

Her, questioning about her existence is getting too annoying, but she can't seem to stop, because then again... it's about her.

It's funny how she who kills cannot be killed... so, what consequence should she have to face when the time comes? Much like a sinner descending to hell? When she can't die or is close to facing a fate such as that?

Humans were weird creatures sometimes, when Anitun heard about Kingo having to leave Sprite in Macedonia because of being tired of having to move every five years because he obviously does not age and people find it weird... she can only frown sadly... Anitun had never really thought about how humans reacted towards them, and she never really asked any of her fellow Eternals since she was never in contact with any of them, except the previous Prime Eternal...

They literally live amongst exquisite and powerful fellows... just like the Avengers, the band of superheroes were entertaining people At least, that's what Thor made her think some are literally aliens from another galaxy, some have odd features in their bodies, some transform into something else, and then there is something about humans that Anitun is curious of... and at the same time she wanted what they have...

Mortality, and innocence, she has none of the two, and she doesn't think she'll ever have any of the two.

Humans are fragile creatures, full of so much life, yearning to learn knowledge about them and the world around them, how she wished she could've been born like they were, a small child, growing into an adult, finally leaving the world as someone who is old... fulfilling what they needed to do in the world... they needn't to rush anything in their lives.

But Anitun was barely a day's old when she had to behave like she was an adult, an intergalactic being forged of nebulas and fiery stars, gold ichor from the hands of their Gods, a river through their veins empowered by burdened responsibilities and loyalty, she drowns on it, so helpless and confused; they were so knowledgeable that quickly, having to know of everything around them immediately... not having to go through adolescence, but she wished she did, she wished that she never knew the things that were already etched on her brain, she craved to find answers to her questions, but there was nothing to ask, and there was nothing to answer.

Her teeth were ripped from the gums of childhood, the early days of blinking her eyes were spent on fighting against those who she needed to protect, unblinking and extremely focused, her melancholic skin was deprived of any loving touch from a real mother, a real family... but she was never a child, was she? Children are filled with life and curiousity, so anticipated with the outside world, they could grasp the cotton candy clouds and the sun with their small hands and call it a dream... she knew everything from day one, almost, everything.

Why can't she be human, why does she have to be something else ─ if she were a human would she act the same like she did towards her family? Towards those that loved her? Would she have to be burdened with so much responsibility just like she had as an Eternal? ─ Anitun cannot shoulder the world alone, she did had someone with her, but he's gone, and the world was never as heavy than she had thought it would be... she never wanted to let go and leave him there, but her mind did, and he did...

Anitun had always wanted to start a family of her own, but since she can't, and she'll never do so, the closest she had of a family was years ago, she missed the way she held a child's innocent, sleeping form, rocking the child to sleep as she hummed her a lullaby, her breath calm and at peace... as the father of the child smiled with her, she loved this family... but the child was no longer in her care, and so was the father of the sweet, innocent creature... probably aging, appearing to look a lot older than her now, she had to let them go... Anitun missed them so dearly.

Kingo was a master of his craft... having to greatly hide the way he had to cope with every chaotic thing that went his way in the form of filmmaking, he could manipulate his emotions in front of his camera in magnificent ways... she's heard that his movies were great, she had seen some of his works herself, including that one that is seemingly inspired by her ─ a frown was brought to her lips when she asked why the female protagonist probably herwas more of an antagonist...

He dismissed the idea, shrugging to himself and telling her that it pretty much depends to the viewer if they wanted to see her like that or not...

Anitun never really wanted to watch it, but she was bored and desperately wanted to do something since she was done watering all the plants in her garden shed... she cringed at the memory, she never knew how Kingo saw what happened before, but they were pretty much arguing at the stairs in front of the other Eternals in an open area... and all of them would've seen the two figures of broken lovers...

...as Anitun continued to descend down the stairs with his sad eyes burning holes on the back of her figure, she never once looked back... never once tried to slow down,

if changing things that happened were as easy as erasing them on a script, she would have desperately did it already... but the damage was done, so what was the point... yet again, it was a fair point that the female protagonist her in the movie acted out as the antagonist anyways, breaking the male antagonist's his trust and presumably his heart... having to know that after all this time, the one he loves never loved him back...

...Anitun would've been in denial when she thought that the movie was not about them. Since it was pretty obvious... The female protagonist's name was literally Anitun the ratings were not bad, but the reactions were not entirely good and pleasant, she saw the uproar in the media once; there's nothing interesting about the two of them and what they used to be... but then again, anything is interesting for Kingo... whatever floats his boat, whatever he can make something out of.

Anitun really is that bad of a person, and she doesn't blame anyone if they think of it that way, fictional or not, she had deemed everyone around her so terrible.

On the only bright side there could ever be in this situation... Kingo had stopped bothering her in terms of telling her spellbinding stupendous spectacular abilities in front of Karun's shaky camera when she kept saying that his facial expressions in the movie was funny... joining Sprite in the enigma of Kingo's documentary.

Kingo's jet went to a halt, Anitun looked out the window as Kingo excitedly announced that they had reached their destination.

She was not in the mood to bask under the Australian sun but Anitun decided to tag along, enjoying the warmth since everyone asked her to try and make the clouds cover the scorching splendor... walking beside Kingo, and his valet, ( Anitun thought that the human was his assistant, but then again the words means the same thing, the word that Kingo is used to throw was just way, fancier, and Karun seemed to like it way more, so she'll call him that from now on. ) her combat boots raked on the sandy plains as she strides towards Thena and Gilgamesh's place...

"It found them even before we can even do that" Kingo said as the group walked near a corpse of a Deviant... she's unsure who decapitated the thing, but it obviously stood no chance, so kudos to whoever did that, Ikaris needed some lessons from either Thena or Gilgamesh, after what happened last night... Anitun sighed, watching Karun excitedly running towards the putrid creature, "Is... is this a Deviant, sir?"

"Yep..." Kingo immediately replied, disappointed, tired of having to deal with the said things for centuries, and now they were back. "It's a beautiful creature!" Karun stated in delight... obviously not having to know of what literally happened on her place since he was inside her house when they were fighting the Deviant. She also, forgot to dispose of the alien corpse, much to her dissatisfaction.

"I wouldn't call it beautiful after it gnaws at your flesh and bone." Anitun shook her head as she grimaced, blinking her eyes slowly, Karun looked up at her as his smile disappeared, she simply shrugged at his reaction. "This?! It's hideous!" Kingo shrilled, pointing at it, "You've never had one try to bite your head off!" Anitun silently agreed behind them... Kingo took his fancy sunglasses off before yet again, turning into his professional persona "Roll." he orders.

Kingo continued walking, immediately turning into his professional state. "You're about to meet two of the greatest warriors the world has ever known"

He looked back at the camera, "Thena, legendary, fashionable"

"And her trusty friend" He ordered Karun to stand near the door and record everything, "A mighty powerhouse of strength..." Kingo introduced in between Ikaris's knocks, "the fearsome... Gilgamesh!" Ikaris looked back at them irritatedly.

"Gilgamesh!" The Eternal repeated as the said Eternal opened his door, revealing thr myth itself and his questionable apron. "What took you so long?" Gilgamesh asked, as he tried to dismiss the camera in front of his face,

Gilgamesh walked past them, and into what seemed to be his outdoor kitchen, not forgetting to give an innocent yet joking remark to Sprite about her looking younger, the Eternal rolled her eyes through her sunglasses. "I have the same apron!" Karun chimed in between excited giggles, running up to the Eternal who was in front of a stove of some sort. "Who the hell are you?" the broad Eternal furrowed his eyebrows at the energetic human. "I'm Karun! Kingo's valet!"

Gilgamesh smiles... "Oh! Valet... like Alfred, in Batman..."

Ikaris stepped forward, "Gilgamesh, the Deviants are back." Anitun cocked her head to the side as she rolled her eyes, fucking obviously, was the creature in front of their house a halloween display? Anitun wanted to slander him so much for his stupidity. But decided not to, she needed to contain herself,

"No shit."

Exactly! Anitun yelled inside her head, loving every bit of Gilgamesh's snarky reply. "We were attacked by a Deviant in London too..." Sprite stated.

"Even Ikaris couldn't kill it" Sersi added, making Anitun's presence finally noticeable as she lets out a laugh, Ikaris looked in between Sersi and her, offended and embarrassed. "I was distracted" he softly cried, "Sure, man." Gilgamesh giggled mockingly alongside Anitun... before taking something from his... oven "Hey, you guys wanna try my pie?" he offers, Anitun's face lit up. "Sure!─"

"─I'm sorry Gil, Ajak is dead" for the love of god. "We lost her..."

Anitun's breath hitched as Gilgamesh's pie hit the ground, she sighed in defeat as he sat beside the Eternal's sad figure, his cheerful demeanor was lost... "I wanted to try it..." she murmured sadly beside the Eternal and he gave her a forced smile, "I'll make one for you later," he stood up and followed the rest of the group,

Anitun followed closely behind... finally being able to see Thena again, who was rapidly drawing something in front of a tree... the group looked up at her figure warrily, Gilgamesh stopped Sersi from approaching her, she was clearly in the state of her Mahd Wy'ry... Anitun had always wondered what it feels like having the said illness, all that she knows was that it is painful.

"The attack triggered her... she's no fun to be around right now..."

"Hey Thena, look who's here" Gilgamesh calls out for the blonde Eternal before offering his hand for her, in which he immediately used as a shield to block Thena's weapons, she speaks.

"Everyone in Centuri-Six is going to die."

"Give me your hand" Gilgamesh repeated, ignoring what she said.

Thena wore a small, mocking smirk, as she continued to talk in a language that none of them seemed to understand properly. "It's too late... we can't save them" the frenzied Eternal glanced at Anitun as she said those words, staring at her intently. The eerie statement making her worry, bringing a chill down her spine, and a frown on her lips, it seemed as if Thena was trying to tell her something... or maybe it was just her stare that made Anitun uncomfortable all of a sudden,

What the hell is Centuri-Six?

Thena then decided to fully glare at her, Anitun watched her warrily as the Eternal tried to pounce on her and try to slit her throat if she had the chance to do so, but stood defeated as Gilgamesh stood his ground, restraining her.

The Eternal's glare didn't wavered as the environment was enveloped in a dark abyss, gold, cord-like lines forming something, the Domo appeared, Thena faltered as she stared up at the statue of Arishem... the weapon in her hands disappeared as she tried not to stumble.

"Thena... we came to Earth together on our ship."

Sprite continued to create illusions, it circled around the group as she told tales about the Eternal's whereabouts; The greatest warrior of Olympia, the legendary protector of Athens, the Goddess of War.

When she finally calmed down, the group gave her timid smiles and greetings, in which she replied with an confused hello.
