Chapter 15 - Are You Trying To Apologize?
Recap:
"It's just..." he started then he sighed and closed his eyes, "I have...well, I found my mate."
"What...that's amazing!"
"Yeah, but she...uhh...she kind of...rejected me," he stuttered. My face went expressionless. She rejected him?
"Uhh...well, she...you know what, you don't need her. It's her loss," I said trying to cheer him up. His lip twitched with a smile. Success.
"Yeah, I don't know if I can say the same."
"Yes you can. If she had the likes to reject you of all persons then..good riddance," I stated then laughed when he rolled his eyes, "alright, why don't we have some fun? You know, to take your mind off things."
"Let's get this two gang party on the road!" he shouted and then hopped off the couch to put a movie in. Yeah, let the party begin...
......................................................................................
I laughed as Jonah tried to quoting different lines from different movies, and let me tell you, he's failing miserably. We've been doing this for some time now and surprisingly for Jonah, I have the most points.
"Alright, who said this: You're not gonna wanna hear this Sonny, but if you're father dies, you make the deal," he quoted. I smiled in victory.
"Tom said it to Sonny in The Godfather," I said and he groaned.
"How the hell did you know that?" he whined and sunk in the couch. I laughed at his behavior and folded my arms across my chest.
"It's a gift," I stated and he scoffed.
"I don't know how, but you're cheating," he stated.

"What? How can I cheat at a game like this?" I asked. He shrugged and then looked at me.
"I don't know, but somehow you're cheating," he stated stubbornly. I rolled my eyes at him and but froze when he started looking at me mischievously. That's not a good sign.
"What...what are you doing?" I asked as I cautiously shifted to the right, getting away from him. He grinned at me and before I knew it, he was tickling me to dead. I squealed and squirmed.
"Joh---Jonah. Sto----stop!" I squealed as I laughed uncontrollably.
"What, what did you say...that I must continue tickling you to death? Alright, but you asked for it," he said still tickling me to my death and I laughed. Suddenly, he stopped and was completely frozen. My lungs finally got air and Jonah got off me. When did he even get on top of me? When I" sat up and turned around, I saw Hayden standing there with his arms crossed across his chest. His eyes were pitch black showing how angry he was. I turned around then I heard Jonah clear his throat.
"Uhh...well, I'm done with my drink. I'm gonna hit the sack. Night guys," he said then made his exit. I sighed and continued looking down at the carpet. Why, you must be wondering, because I'm trying to avoid his eyes. Finally, after a few minutes of silence, I found myself getting up off the couch and heading up the stairs. I would have gone up completely if Hayden didn't grab me by my waist.
"Can't you just talk to me now?" he asked. I scoffed and looked over his shoulder, "I mean, I don't even remember what I did to make you angry with me." I looked up and glared at him.

"First, you insulted my family and myself. Secondly, you simply got angry with me because I refused to join your pack. And lastly, you judged me just because of it. You didn't even ask me why I didn't want to join your precious pack," I retorted. He sighed in defeat and looked at me.
"Alright, I didn't...uhh...well, some of it was kind of true...but---" he started but I cut him off.
"Is that your version of an apology? Because if it is, then you’re doing pretty bad at it. And what do you mean by some of it was kind of true?" I growled, "you know what Hayden, just leave me the hell alone. Until you have the guts to step off you high horse and really apologize to me, then I'll consider talking to you," and with that, I left him standing there and went to my room. Well, wasn't that interesting.
.....................................................................................
"Why the hell not?" Lilly screamed at me. I rolled my eyes and fell back on the bed.
"For the last time, I have my past that's gonna catch up to me anytime soon and I don't want anyone to get hurt," I said for the tenth time. Probably even more.
"But he'll be forever unhappy," she stated.
"And your point is..." I trailed off and she looked at me as if I was a crazy person, "why are you looking at me like that?"
"Why would you make him suffer like that?" she asked me as she raised her eyebrow at me, "besides, you would be suffering too, you know"
"Yeah, but..." I sighed, "it's probably better for everyone else."
"Stop thinking about everyone else and think about you. Don't you want him?"
"Well, he is kind of cocky for his own good..."
"Yeah, and so is James but that doesn't stop me. And I bet Conner and the rest of the guys are cocky and overconfident as well," she stated. True, true...
"Well, you girls get it easy. One, I have a lot of baggage that I have to deal with and two, Hayden is waaaaayyyyy too overconfident. Just a few hours ago, he was trying to apologize. Key word: trying. I mean, he was like, 'I know I said some stuff' and I was like he's gonna apologize now, but he just ruins it by saying, 'but some of those stuff were kind of true'. I mean, who the hell says that in an apology?"
"Zara, it's very, and I mean very, hard for an Alpha to apologize, o.k. so just bare with him."
"Yeah, and that's why they should get off their high horses more often," I muttered and Lilly laughed then got up.
"Come on, James said it's almost dinner time," she said. I gave her a confused look while I stood. Seeing my confusion she said, "James and I are fully mated."
"Wow, I'm happy for you," I stated and then hugged her. When we pulled away, she smiled.
"And I will be happy for you when you admit to everyone that you need him," she said and I groaned.
"Let's not start this again, please," I said and then went through the front door. Please, I don't need anyone. I quite fine on my own.
****************************************************************
And they live! That was chapter 15 my wonderful and beautiful wattpadders. I hope you liked it. But do you think Zara was serious about her not needing Hayden? Will she accept Hayden's apology later on? Then again, his first one was pure crap lol.
Anyway. Please:

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?
