《Protected by BTS》Chapter 28: Phone or Bag

26 hours left.
In the past few days, you've slept a total of 6 hours. It's been stressful hiding this from the boys but luckily they haven't been home that much. You had been juggling their orders of finding everything out about the explosion that hurt Hoseok and finding any new clues on your father from the live footage. Luckily, they were related and one piece of information could help both cases.
Nothing on the live feed has changed besides the occasional beatings they gave your father or the bowl of food and water they gave him every day. Luckily, there was sound and you have been isolating it and enhancing the audio for any clues. There was nothing too distinguishable and the sounds that were isolated were hard to pinpoint. You had 3 distinguishable sounds: one that closely resembled white noise, the muffled voices of people talking, and light tapping and screeching noises.
There's no hard hitting evidence or clue on the explosion since there were no cameras. All you've got was surrounding CCTV cameras but you wouldn't be able to distinguish much since it was a street race and there were too many cars. You've followed every car that came out of the explosion. It took forever, since there must have been hundreds of cars at the meet up.
You were in the middle of tracking cars still when you tracked one of the cars in the Ansan ports. You didn't think much of it until you saw the CCTV cameras near the sea. The waves that splashed upon the rocks reminded you of a sound that would match. You remembered the isolated sounds from your father's video. You've audio enhanced every part of the video. The sounds didn't make any sense since you had no idea what each clip was.
But tracking one of the cars into the Ansan ports had put all the pieces together in your head. You figured that the tapping and screeching sound from the video could be the moving of cargo crates from cargo ships. The buzzing white noise had to be the waves of the East China Sea.
You figured it out. Or at least it was worth a shot.
The live footage of your father was being taken from one of the cargo crates in Ansan. It would explain the minimal background and the small space he was in. You were never able to geographically pinpoint the satelite's location as whoever made it had some serious skill. Every time you had tried to reverse a ping to a location, over 100 locations across the world popped up. Thus leaving you with no other leads in this regard.

This was your only clue, and you were about to see it to the end.
You clicked back into the email to check how long you have. The timer continued to grow closer to 0 but you had less than 26 hours now.
After the whole fight between Yoongi and Jimin, your conscience was telling you to tell all of the boys. They would be upset and angry if I go alone. It's definitely a trap so what other choices do I have? I need to save my father and telling them could jeopardize it all.
You racked your brain on deciding to tell them. You could call them, since none of them were home. Or you could just sneak away right now since they left you alone.
You looked at the home phone — your only source of contacting them — and your backpack — filled with the cash and the gun you still had from the night your father was taken.
You could take the backpack and sneak off right now. Or you could call them and tell them everything.
Phone.
Bag.
Phone.
Bag.
Phone.
Bag.
Phone.
Bag.
Phone.
Bag.
Fuck it.

Namjoon stepped out of the elevator.
The elevator doors opened and Namjoon was met with all of his members sitting on the couch. You were missing from the group and all of them looked somewhat bored.
"Where's MiSun-ah? And why did she call us for an 'emergency meeting?' I thought she said it was something super important and that we should rush home." Namjoon took a seat next to Hoseok.
Hoseok was doing better. He had returned home the day he woke up and now he's just limping to get around the house. He was basically healed but was ordered to take it easy until he had full range of motion in his leg.
"I don't know. I was the first to get here and she just locked herself in her room. She said she wouldn't come out until everyone gets here." Seokjin said, "She was being a little mean actually." He pouted and remembered how you yelled at him to 'get out.'
Jungkook sighed," Technically it's my room." He corrected Seokjin.
"Whatever, I guess we can get her now." Yoongi said and stood up. All of the boys followed him to you and Jungkook's room. Seokjin knocked on the door, like the first time he did.

"Is everyone there?" They heard your voice say.
"Yeah! I have all the members with me now. Let us in now, what's up?" Seokjin replied.
"Then get out!" Your voice replied.
They all were shocked. "What? I thought you had something important to tell us." Namjoon replied.
There was no answer.
"Yah! MiSun-ah! Hello?"
No answer.
They knocked on the door again.
"Yah-!"
Your voice interrupted, "Is everyone there?"
"What the hell? Yes! Namjoon hyung just said we're all here! You're the one that wanted to have an emergency meeting so will you now-"
"Then get out!" Your voice was heard again and cut off Jimin from continuing what he was going to say.
"Aigoo why are girls so confusing?" Taehyung shook his head in disapproval.
"Open the door MiSun!" Hoseok chimes in.
No reply.
"Yah!" Jungkook became annoyed.
"Misun, this is an order. Open the damn door. You're really starting to piss us all off!" Namjoon jutted his jaw.
"Aish, that girl!" Namjoon unclenched his jaw and fists. "Jungkook, break open your door." He ordered.
Jungkook frowned, "My door? Wait why! Misun-ah will you just-"
Namjoon glared, "Jungkook! Door! Now! Please!"
Jungkook sighed and felt annoyed that he was about to break his own door open. With all his strength, Jungkook kicked open the door and the boys busted through the doorframe.
They were met with an empty room and your laptop on the floor.
"Where's MiSun-ah?" Seokjin asked openly.
They all looked around the room. Seokjin checked the bathroom, Yoongi walked through the closet, Jungkook looked under his bed, and the rest of the boys looked in the most obvious places. Taehyung looked under the pillows, Hoseok looked out the window, and Jimin checked behind the door.
Namjoon was the only one to realize where you had went. "Damn it!" Namjoon slapped the wall in anger.
The boys all looked at him in confusion.
"It was a recorded response." Namjoon pointed to your laptop next to the newly broken door. The laptop was connected with a wire on the handle of the door. "If you knock on the door, it plays her recorded response. The vibration from trying to open her door or knock, will play what we heard. See look." Namjoon knocked on the door and then a few seconds later your recorded voice was heard.
"Is everyone there?"
10 seconds later.
"Then get out!
"Ahhhh! That would make sense with what happened earlier then." Seokjin smiled as if he had solved the whole problem. He walked up to door, knowing that he was the first one home. He knocked politely, "MiSun-ah it's me Seokjin oppa!"
"Is everyone there?"
"Well, the members aren't here yet. But Worldwide Handsome is here! What did you call the meeting for?"
"Then get out!"
"W-w-what? Ahhh MiSun-ah, how could you do this to your oppa! You're too harsh. Come on, come out, we can wait for them together, huh?" He waited but obviously there was no response.
"Annyeonghaseyo? Yeonghaseyo? ... YAH YOU BRAT!"
The members slapped their foreheads after hearing what their hyung did earlier. They simultaneously rolled their eyes and shook their heads at how you easily deceived him.
"I'm going to make sure this girl never leaves the house again." Namjoon grit his teeth and was about to walk into the hallway when Taehyung pointed at the laptop.
"Wait guys look."
They all huddled around your laptop and saw a letter written on it.
____________________________
"Wha! She finally said it!" Jimin said proudly but then frowned. "She finally said that she loves us." The rest of the members grimaced knowing that you had left and were in danger.
A lightbulb appeared over Namjoon's head. He grabbed your laptop and scanned through your home screen.
"I know that big brain of yours, what are you thinking." Hoseok smiled in hope that their leader thought of a way to get to you.
"Wherever she's gone, she had to do go in a hurry. I'm assuming she forgot to clear her history and if we look there, we might be able to find an address she typed in.
"That's our intelligent leader. So smart! Fighting!" Yoongi smiled, also in hopes that he would find your location. Namjoon clenched his jaw like he always did and threatened, "Once this is over, she's definitely never setting one foot outside of this house."

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
