💚Zoe's P.O.V

He was walking surprisingly fast for someone who had such injuries and even with the height of 5'6, It was hard for me to catch up with his stride.

He was heading at the back area of the school where the garden was located and vacant of any existence.

"Why are you following me?" He said, not giving a backward glance.

"I-who did that to you?" I asked, going straight to the point.

He ignored me, slamming the backdoor with force at my face. I couldn't help but huff and procedeed to follow him out.

"Stop avoiding the question and answer me," I continued, taking a hold of his arm.

He flinched before pulling his arm from my grasp,"Just stay away from me," He snapped harshly, before turning around.

I rolled my eyes, not even scared of him. He looked like death and if my suspicions were correct, it was because of me.

I took a hold of his arm with a sigh."Please tell me. I promise I won't tell a soul." I softly said, my eyes meeting his.

He looked at me for a minute before giving me a hesistant nod. I pulled my hand away from, smiling softly.

"I'm sorry for hurting you." He started off, scratching the back of his neck.

I opened my mouth a few times, somehow surprised that he apologized without looking like a cocky bitch.

"Just," I smiled, not wanting to hold a grudge."Make sure not to do to other girls again. I'd kick your ass if I ever find out."

Anger is something that easily taints the goodness within us and holding unto it can be toxic.

Learning to admit your mistake is hard since we're humans after all and it takes courage to apologize.

All of us have our own pieces of goodness stored. Some outweigh the evil and some do not but forgiveness is something we should not deny to others.

He grimaced,"I'm truly sorry. I-I didn't mean to scare or hurt you. You just really looked pretty and I didn't know how to approach you." He admitted, turning red.

I chuckled lightly,"You seriously need to take a few lessons on how to lowkey approach a girl." I teased, trying to lighten up the mood.

He tried to roll his eyes but obviously failed because of his black eye. Up close, I felt a grimace form on my lips at how painful his bruises looked.

"Answer my question." I ask, looking up to meet his eyes."Who did this?"

He stared at my pleading face and caved.

"I-just don't get mad okay?" He replied, a hesitant look on his face.

I felt my lip purse basically catching on where this was going but I nodded anyways since I'm sure it hurts his pride to actually say it out loud.

"I was actually on my way to your house and apologize yesterday but I got jumped on the way." His eyes glazed for a moment."It was Adler's friends who did this." He revealed, gauging my reaction.

My eyes widened."Chica and Jax did this to you?" I sputtered out.

I didn't know they were this bad ass to do something so violent.

"What?" His eyebrows drew back."No, you got it wrong." He shakes his head.

I crossed my arms, growing impatient."Then what do you mean Adler's friends?"

"Tyrone isn't as closed off than you think."Jett cracked a knowing smile."A guy like him obviously has connections. Dark connections, if you know what I mean."

I froze for a moment, obviously knowing what he meant before my expression morphed into anger.

"That asshole!" I seethed, his eyes widening."I made him promise not to hurt you." I growled, fisting my hands.

"So, that's why he didn't lay a finger on me!" Jett snaps his fingers, nodding his head as if finally understanding.

My brows furrowed."What do you mean?"

"Tyrone was there and we exchanged a few words." He explains."But he didn't touch me, he practically stayed back and let his connections do their job."

"That doesn't change anything." I stressed out, feeling guilty."He promised." I gritted out.

He cocked an eyebrow."Technically cherry, he kept his promise. He wasn't the one who hurt me. If you still haven't caught on, your promise had a loophole." Jett wore an amused expression, not even bothered.

I grew blank for a moment, my mind turning gears before finally realizing that he did somehow keep his promise.

"That son of a vegetable!" I swore loudly, my fist clenching in anger.

I couldn't help but feel complete fury at how he outsmarted me and wanted to smack my brain for not realizing the loophole of the promise.

"I'm sorry Jett." I apologize , the guilt tripling knowing that it was because of me he got hurt.

Jett's expression seemed surprise at my apology before it completely softened. A wide smile gracing his features despite how painful that seem to be because of the cut on his lip.

"I deserved it cherry." He shook his head."You don't have to be sorry nor guilty for the consequences that my actions had caused." He firmly said.

I pouted, nodding."Do you want to go to the infirmary? We could put some ice to minimize the swelling." I offered, concern lacing through me.

"I'm a grown up cherry. I can handle this and besides." His stare moved to something behind me."If I stayed, a certain someone might truly break his promise."

I turned around, familiar chocolate orbs meeting my hazel-gray ones. Tyrone stood a few meters away from us, his expression devoid of any emotion.

I turned to Jett with a smile."I'll see you around J. I have some business to attend." He let out a chuckle, nodding his head before walking away.

Turning around, I let my smile drop and morph into a scowl. Storming in front of the carrot who didn't look a bit guilty.

I marched up to him."We had an agreement." I fumed, standing on my tippy toes and press a finger on his chest.

Tyrone's mask didn't waver. He stood tall, unwavering, and stoic.

"Well? Aren't you gonna say something?" I demanded, my hands moving to rest on my hips.

He crossed his arms, biting his lip and shaking his head. My hazel-grey ones throwing daggers at his handsome features.

"No?" I gritted out."Well I have a lot to say! Why did you do that? Violence is not the answer to this Ty, that's why I made you promise in the first place. The poor guy is probably gonna have PSTD walking alone on his own now."

I slumped, taking in deep breaths and trying to simmer my anger down. Neither one of us said anything after that, silence greeting us.

"Are you done radish?" He asks, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

The action had me freezing for a moment before I glared at him."Yes." I snap.

"As far as I know, I kept our agreement. I wasn't the one who hurt him and I didn't even glare at him, despite the fact the you weren't there to witness it." He shrugs, taking a hold of my hand.

I felt my heart lurch at his warmth, his tendencies to play with my fingers had been an ongoing thing these past few days.

Tyrone didn't waver his stare, his eyes portraying his honestly. I thought he would deny it and make something up but he came honestly to me.

"You should still apologize to him. What you did was absolutely wrong Ty." I firmly said, shaking my head with a sigh.

"No." He simply replies, his eyes narrowed."What he did to you was absolutely wrong too. I understand your anger but I won't let him get away that easily for hurting you. Not anyone for that matter." Tyrone fiercely says, squeezing my hand gently.

At that instant, his mask cracked for a brief moment. The fury that swam on his eyes had me loss at words.

I didn't knew he was this mad about it. There was anger at that time but I thought he let it go already.

The fact that he even did this for my sake had my heart warming. Something fluttering against my stomach that made me bite my lip.

Before I knew it, I took a step forward and wrapped my arms around him for a hug. Somehow not knowing what to say at his declaration.

His whole frame tensed at my touch and when he didn't return it, I quickly pulled away but was stopped when his arms came up around me, his whole body relaxing.

"That still wasn't right." I murmured, feeling him rest his chin on top of mine."But thank you carrot, for defending me and protecting me."

He pulled back, seeming flustered before he ruffled my hair that earned a groan from me.

"Don't." He glared at me."Any guy would do what I would've done." He looked away and I knew he was embarrassed.

A smile fell on my lips because unknowingly, the carrot promised to be my protector.

Tyrone Adler, you truly are full of surprises.
