《>Twisted minds》Chapter 13: Family Photos

How much time had passed? You didn't know. The hours meshed together. You couldn't keep track anymore. The smell of rotting flesh was getting too you. The sight of Adam was not a pleasant thing to see every time you opened your eyes. Your stomach felt so hollow. When was the last time you ate? You wanted out. Badly. However, you didn't want to submit to Lucas quite yet. The sound of footsteps rang out from above you. Soon after the hatch opened.

"(Y/n) a-are you r-ready to a-apologize?"

"No."

Lucas let out a huff. He was getting annoyed with this behavior.

"P-please just apologize. I-I'll let y-you o-out!"

"No."

"P-please!"

"Lucas, leave me alone," you stated, facing away from him.

The sound of something hitting the ground was new. You slightly glanced over your shoulder. What was it? You couldn't see too well because of the poor lighting. You slowly inched towards it. It was a book? You snatched it up, and then looked at Lucas.

"What the hell is this?"

"A-a gift. Maybe i-it'll c-change your mind."

And with that, he shut the door. You flipped him off behind closed doors, and looked back at the book.

What did he mean by 'change your mind?'

You sighed, carefully opening it. A gasp escaped your mouth at the first picture. It was a family photo of your family. They must be so worried. There has to be a search party for you by now. A tear slipped down your cheek. You really missed them.

You turned the page. It was a photo of Callie and you at the park. Her face was scribbled out with a red marker while yours had a heart around it. What the hell?

The next page was of Kyle and you arguing. His face, too, was marked out.

You continued to flip through the book, all of you and close family members. All their faces had been marked out. Then you reached the last page. Fear washed over you, a chill running down your spine.

'They're all too close to what's mine. Mine mine mine! They all deserve to die.

....

Die

...

DIE!'

The sloppy handwriting caused you immense amounts of fear. You shook, re-reading the note several more times. What the fuck was that bastard planning?

"Lucas!" You screamed, throwing the book at the hatch.

It soon opened, him poking his head into view.

"What the fuck?! Don't you dare lay a finger on them you freak!" You screamed, crying by now.

"T-then apologize."

You clenched your jaw, your teeth aching at the uncomfortable pressure. This bitch was trying to threaten your family.

"You...you fucking piece of scum," you muttered, looking at the ground.

You had to. You loved your family too much.

"If I say I'm sorry, you promise not to lay a single finger on any of them?" You asked, looking up at him with teary eyes.

"I-I promise."

You took in a deep breath. Hating yourself for what you were about to do.

"I'm sorry," you said softly.

"I promise not to try and get away again."

Lucas beamed at your words. Whether they were honest or forced, he didn't care. You said it, and he accepted it.

"G-good girl," he smiled, pushing down a small rope ladder.

You crawled over to it, your energy running low. You latched onto it, and climbed up. He grabbed your forearms when you got close enough, hoisting you up. He held you close, his warm breath hitting the back of your neck.

"I-I'm sorry," he said.

"I d-didn't want to d-do t-that."

He shook a bit. Was he...crying? You didn't care. He'd better feel guilty. You hoped it'd be so overbearing for him that he died because of it.

"Lucas," you whispered, feeling even more light headed.

"I need food."

He pulled back, and gave you a questioning glance before gasping. He picked you up in his arms, rushing to the kitchen.

"I-I forgot a-bout f-food!" He exclaimed, setting you in a chair.

"How long has it been?" You asked, laying your head on the table.

"F-five days," he said quietly.

You just hummed in response, too tired to even care. The sound of objects clattering soon faded into nothing. You were tired. You flinched awake, an image of Adam flashing in your mind. Tears welled up in your eyes. He was a dick, but he didn't deserve such a gruesome death.

"H-here y-you go."

Lucas sat a plate in front of you. A simple sandwich. You picked it up, slowly biting into it. As soon as the food hit your stomach, you felt sick. You held your stomach and mouth. You had to keep it down. You needed it.

"W-what's wrong?"

You just shook your head. You forced yourself to take another bite. Eventually you managed to get the whole sandwich down. The nausea was terrible, but you made yourself keep the food down.

"I want to lay down."

Lucas nodded, standing up to carry you. You put your hands up.

"I'll walk."

"N-no, y-you're shaking," Luvas said, ushering you towards him.

He grabbed your arm, and you jerked it away.

"Don't!...don't touch me," you said, holding your arm.

"I can walk by myself."

Lucas let out a whine, and told you to let him carry you again.

"Lucas. Please, just this once, let me be."

He frowned, but nodded eventually. You let out a sigh of relief. Thank God he was being cooperative with you. You used the wall for balance as you made your way to the living room.

"I'm sleeping on the couch," you said, sitting down on the sofa.

"B-but-"

"I want to sleep here Lucas."

He sighed, but eventually left you alone.

"G-goodnight," he said, turning off the light.

"I l-love you."

You stayed quiet.
