Kareem stared at Skai as she looked over the menu. They were all at a restaurant celebrating August's birthday.
She pretty as fuck. He thought to himself
"Kareem what are you getting? I'm stuck" Skai pouted. He shrugged and pointed at the Shrimp Pad Thai.
"My sister get this when we come here, try it" he told her.
She nodded then pulled out her phone only for it to be taken by him.
"Talk to me shordy" he said placing his hand on her thigh.
Skai blushed and quickly removed it. "About what?"
"Anything" he replied placing his hand back in it previous spot.
She rolled her eyes "I was wondering if I can put a few pictures from your shoot on my business page"
"Yeah you can" he cheesed causing her to smile along with him.
"I saw the website sold out in like 30 minutes, I couldn't even get anything. I'm so happy for you!" She told him causing his smile to widen.
He nodded "Yea it was them pictures, they really brought out my brand"
"I saved a set for you, I can drop them off one day" he offered.
"Thank youuuu, just text me" she told him.
They spoke some more until the waiter came to take their orders.
"What can I get for you beautiful?" The waiter asked Skai, causing Kareem's face to unknowingly scrunch up.
August and Maya noticed then started to laugh amongst themselves.
"She want the Shrimp Pad Thai, I want the Seared Salmon." Kareem ordered dismissing him, Maya and August to laughed even more.
Skai stared at him in confusion as the waiter walked off, but decided to ignore it.
"Skai, are you able to take me and Auggie's pictures for our anniversary?" Maya asked trying to break the silence.

"Yea just let me know when you wanna come in" Skai answered.
______________
"Girl he was pissed the whole night. Cause the waiter was tryna flirt with you" Maya said with a smirk.
Skai rolled her eyes "But why would he be mad about that? He don't even know me like that"
Maya looked at her knowingly but decided to stay quiet. They walked out the bathroom and were met with August's annoyed expression.
"It don't take thatttt long to use the bathroom" Maya rolled her eyes at him then took his hand.
"Happy Birthday August, thank you for inviting me" Skai smiled as she pulled out her phone to order an Uber home.
Kareem frowned and grabbed her hand "Imma take you home"
She scrunched up her face and got ready to object until he gave her a look. Instead she opted to snatch her hand away and stand there with a mug on her face.
He smirked as they followed everyone to the parking lot. "BYE BITCH TEXT ME WHEN YOU GET HOME ILL PROLLY BE GETTING DICK" Maya yelled to Skai causing them both to laugh as everyone around them stared.
Kareem shook his head and grabbed Skai's hand again. They walked to the car and got in.
"Kareem why do you act like that?" She asked as he pulled off.
"Like what?" He replied scratching his beard.
"The way that you act. Like you cussed the waiter out for calling me pretty and then I tried to order an Uber but you cancelled it" she told him.
"To be honest, I'm feeling you, acting like I'm not is childish. And I didn't want you in that Uber late at night then you gon missing" he explained.
She scrunched up her face "You feeling me? This only chapter 3 nigga"
He chuckled as they pulled in front of her house. "Lemme take you out, on Saturday?"
"Mmmmmmmm" she sounded causing him to mug her.
"Yes or yes?" She laughed and shook her head yes.
"Thanks for the ride, I'll see you later"
"Bye Aiza" he smiled causing her to roll her eyes.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
