Lay so pretty 🥺
✨I'm not a mental health expert just a psych major in college ✨
Take it easy on my girl Lay aight 👀 ..
Continued chapter from the last.
Lay was excited to be at her apartment, it was decorated so nicely plus it was a bit bigger than her last one. The movers had unpacked everything as well which was helpful.
Eli stayed in Lay's room last night but she was going to start getting her used to sleeping in her own room. Even though Eli was small she still took up a lot of the bed and it was stressing her mom out.
"Hungy." Eli said pointing to her mouth, Lay laughed at her and put her in the high chair while she fixed breakfast. Eggs, waffles, sausage links and some strawberries with orange juice.
She cut up the babies food and gave it to her with orange juice in her cup.
The both ate their food and Chalynn scrolled Google trying to find a good daycare for her daughter. Of course her dad got the final say but there was one that was right around the corner that had very good reviews.
Lay called to set up a walk through with the owner in a little bit which was perfect because that gave them time to get dressed.
"Good morning pretty." Lay said to her sister who walked out of her room.
"Hi sissy, how are you?" Marlee asked wiping her eyes and yawning. She rubbed her nieces hair and kissed her cheek.
"I'm well, I think you'll be happy with what I have planned today for you. You wanna get your hair, nails and, toes done and do some shopping today?" Lay asked, her sister had been upset the past few days and she didn't know why.
Marlee's face lit up, "You know I do." She hugged her sister and for a second she wanted to tell her sister what was on her mind but she decided against it. She hadn't seen Lay smile in a few days, and she was just going to enjoy her day of pampering.
"Good, grab you something to eat baby." Lay said disposing of the eggs because they were making her nauseated. Marlee did as instructed and sat at the high counter.
The front door to the apartment unlocked making Lay grab her gun from under her chair and point it towards the door. Markeyvius walked into the door and chuckled.
"Girl put that down in front of Eli." He instructed but he was impressed, he had taught her well.
"Dada." Eli giggled happily, his charm was making everybody forget they were mad at him except for Marlee. He went over and took Eli out of her chair giving her plenty kisses.
"Why do you have a key to our house?" Marlee asked rolling her eyes, she was over him and his bullshit. Word traveled fast that he had moved on.
"Dang lil bit. I thought we were cool?" He looked at Chalynn who shrugged her shoulders. Marlee had never expressed to her that she was upset with him.
"Well you thought wrong." She stormed away from them and walked into her room and slammed the door. Key once again looked at Lay.
"Maybe she heard about you and Aubree. I'm not sure, it could've been when you yelled at me to get an abortion, left me crying. You'll have to ask her." Marlee was like his bestfriend and her being upset with him was saddening. He started to give Eli to Lay but she shook her head.

"Uh uh, she's not finished eating. Put her in her high chair." She pointed her finger at the high chair in the corner. She was becoming such a mom and loving every minute of it. He set the little girl down before attempting to go down the hallway.
"Take them shoes off." She laughed, he took them off and went to knock on Marlee's door. She was reluctant at first but she allowed him to come in.
Key sat in her chair and turned it around to where he was looking at her. She sniffled a little bit and held her head down picking at her food.
"What's wrong lil bit?" Key asked in a fatherly tone, there was a few moments of silence before she answered him.
"I was rooting for you. We were all rooting for you and you go and break Lay's heart like that. She didn't deserve that Markeyvius. What happened to the nigga who was so in love with her? Now you left us." Marlee cried, Key got up to hug her and she let him.
"I didn't leave y'all Mar. I'm still here, I'm going to be here as much as I can. I would never leave y'all. I'm still in love with Lay, it's only been a couple days. I didn't mean to break her heart, a nigga just going through some shit and I'm going to do better." He admitted his faults but hearing that he wasn't going to disappear out of their lives made her feel much better that was one of the things she was really worried about.
"Okay, but why Aubree? You literally just told her that she didn't have to worry about her and then boom the same day you laid up with her. Were you cheating?" She asked looking up at him wiping his eyes, all this crying was becoming too much for Key. Every where he looked there was a woman crying over his actions.
"Me and Aubree go way back. Nah, I would never cheat on Lay. Don't cry lil bit. It's gone be alright. You still my lil nigga right?" He asked hugging her again.
"Yeah I guess. I think she wants to keep the baby." Marlee told him, she wanted to see his reaction. He smiled softly.
"I'll discuss that with her." He left it at that. She gave him a hug and apologized for being mean to him but he told her not too and that he understood. He admired Marlee because she was always ten toes behind her sister. As she should.
He left her in her room but before he could close the door, "I love you Key." His heart smiled, "I love you lil bit." He closed the door and went into the living area where Chalynn had Eli in her play pin playing with her toys. He stared at her as she attacked Eli with kisses before getting up and looking at her baby dad.
"Boy why are you staring at me?" She asked him putting her hand on her hip.
"No reason." Chalynn was naturally beautiful to him. Her relaxed vibe was one of the things that attracted him to her.
"You hungry? Let me make you a plate." Key had went over there first thing in the morning cause there was a few things he wanted to talk to her about.
"I got it don't worry bout it." He washed his hands and dried them grabbing a plate from the cabinet and packing his plate up before sitting down next to her.

"I'm glad you're here actually. I'm going to go tour Small Smiles daycare and I want you to come. She needs that interaction with other kids and I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing but I need some me time. Depending on what you got going on you can have her on the weekends or some weekdays but this is stuff we need to figure out." Lay pulled up the daycare on Yelp. That worked perfectly for what he was about to say.
"Lay, you know I love you right?" Key was going to try and pull the same thing King did.
"No, actually I don't." She scoffed, whatever this nigga wanted was going to be a hard ass no.
"Okay well I do and I know you love me. I need you to do me a favor." He stated chewing his food. Chalynn found him despicable.
"You want me to do you a favor?" She asked in disbelief, he looked so serious and had this look in his eye that he really needed her to do this for him.
"What is it Markey?" She rolled her eyes.
"I need you to go back and finish law school." She perked up at the sound of that, she had been wanting to do that for so long but she didn't know where to start.
"Why?" She raised her eyebrow now currently suspicious.
"Because it would help me out a lot. I just really need you to do this for me. Ima make sure y'all set if something ever happens to me though." Key said finishing his plate, Lay was worried now.
"Nothing better happen to you. I can't raise two kids with out a father." She stated getting sad, a million things ran through her mind about what could happen to Key.
"I'a be here as long as the lord allows it." He spoke, he kissed her hand.
"Okay, I'll go back. I only have a semester left. But that means you're really going to have to help with Eli." She advised him, he nodded his head.
"I signed you up to start next Monday. You have class M/W/F since you only have one semester left and she can be at daycare and if you need to study I can come over and help with her or bring her to my house. We can do it." Chalynn scrunched her face up.
"You have this all planned out. How'd you know I would say yes?" She turned her head to look at him sideways.
"Because I know you love me."
"One of my biggest mistakes." Chalynn got down from the chair and went to go get dressed. Key would be lying if he said that didn't hurt his feelings even just a little bit. Noticing that Eli was sleeping he let her be and walked back into Lays room.
She had nude colors but the airy feeling definitely matched Chalynn's personality.
"What do you want Key?" She asked, laying her clothes out on the bed.
"One minute we're laughing and joking and the next you're saying I'm your greatest mistake. I know I hurt you but we can be friends. We can co parent." He told her trying to grab her arm, but she snatched away the same way that he had done to her.
"I'm pregnant Markeyvius. I'm having mood changes, I throw up everything, I'm tired and my breast hurt!" She yelled at him, he put his hand over her mouth so that she didn't wake up Eli. He gently shut her door.
"We need to hash this shit out Lay. If we're going to do this co parent shit we can't be walking around here pretending we're okay and we're not." He leaned against her bedroom wall. She walked into the bathroom and he followed her.
"What is there to discuss Key? You tried to play me and then had another female in your house where I was just at. That's weird. You're weird as fuck. So yes loving you after everything I did for you, and you do me like that you are my biggest mistake. I can't fucking stand you. I hate you." She screamed the last part at him and tried to fight back the tears. He closed the bathroom door as well.
"I hate you too. For loving me. You got me so fucked up in the head, I can't do shit with out thinking about you and how I hurt you. You think I wanna be bipolar? This is hard for me too Lay, what about me?" He asked looking down at her starting to raise his voice which scared Lay. He was right, she knew he had mental health issues but didn't think once to check on him. She was so caught up in what she had going on to even do so.
Lay looked up at him and saw that he too was crying. Only three people had ever seen him cry before. She placed a comforting hand on his cheek and stroked it softly wiping away his tears. He placed his arms around her waist bringing her closely to him and she brought his head down to her level placing her forehead against his. After a few moments of silence, they both pulled away and their lips crashed on each other's.
Hungrily, Keys tongue slipped into Chalynn's warm mouth as he squeezed her ass. They both tasted each other's tears at first, the saltiness replaced by moans. Lay stuck her hand in his boxers and began to stroke him. His tip glistened with pre-cum. Key picked her up and placed her on the sink. Peeling off his shirt she brought his body close.
Key reached under her dress to pull her panties down but she didn't have any on. She hurriedly tugged at his sweats and underwear watching him spring out of them completely. He brought her dress up to reveal her pussy. Kissing her neck he aligned himself at her entrance. Instead of pushing into her, he rubbed the tip over her clit.
"Baby, stop teasing me." She whined, her core aching for his missing piece. Usually he wouldn't like to be rushed but the way she was looking at him he was going to put twins in her.
"Shit, aight." He pushed into her and gave her a long stroke afterwards. "Oooo fuuuck." She yelled out grabbing the back of his head and bringing it to her neck.
"Damn girl." He moaned against her soft brown-skin. Being careful of his seed inside of her, he gave her slow long strokes. Key looked down and with each stroke he saw her cream on his dick. The sex so passionate it was almost intoxicating.
Lay was on cloud nine, it felt so wrong to sleep with Markeyvius. But, he knew just how well to please her body. Seeing him cry and be vulnerable with her was just enough to get her wall down to fuck her. The way he stroked her, kissed and licked her neck and grunted with every stroke she felt like she was inches away from coming.
He pulled out of her and instructed her to get off the sink. He turned her around and bent her over it. "Lemme know if I hurt you." He slammed into her, not as rough as he usually would. "Fuck." She yelled out laying her head on the counter and trying to grab things for support but she just ended up knocking it off.
Lay reached back and grabbed his sweatpants so she could throw it back. "There you go." He grunted slapping and gripping both her ass cheeks. He slid one hand from her ass up her back to her hair sending a chill up her spine. He lightly tugged her hair and picked up his pace.
"Take yo dick." He moaned as sounds of skin slapping together filled the bathroom. Lays eyes rolled in the back of her head as she was about to cum.
"Why are you fucking me this good?" She asked as her eyes fluttered open and he looked at her through the mirror. He smirked at her snaking his hand to her neck and brought her up to his mouth. He whispered something in her ear and sucked her earlobe.
"F-Fuck. I-I'm finna cum, Markey." She cried out, with a few more strokes they both came together.
Marlee chuckled to herself, she knew exactly what was going to happen when he shut the door and told her to keep her voice down. Something straight out of baby boy. She sat on the couch with Eli who woke up fussy a few minutes ago.
Lay left her bedroom showered and dressed as if this was the worlds most prestigious daycare. Key had changed into something nicer too because he had plans for the rest of the day.
"Wassup lil bit?" Key asked Marlee who scrunched her face up at the two of them. "Y'all are nasty." Marlee laughed, they were always loud but oh well.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Lay said straight faced. Even though he had just broke her back, they weren't back together by any means.
"Come here baby, so I can get you dressed. Your auntie telling lies on mommy." Lay said changing Eli's diaper and then changing her clothes, she brushed her hair up into a little ponytail as well.
"Look at y'all. Looking like a nice black family." Marlee giggled, "Go ahead and take my car Mar and I'll send money to your black card."
"Yay. Thank you." Lay and Key said their goodbyes before getting in the car and heading out to the daycare for their daughter.
✨🥤
They were both silent on the ride to the daycare, neither one of them knowing what to say. As always Eli fell asleep in the car, she loved car rides they always soothed her.
When they arrived to Small Smiles daycare it looked nice on the outside and had a good location. It was about a five minute drive from Chalynn's home, and a ten minute drive from Keys.
"This look smooth." He said looking at the daycare, he trusted Lays opinion on shit like this. He put on a hat and a face mask to walk into the daycare just in case anybody wanted to be on bullshit and try to snap pictures of him.
"I know. Can you grab the baby?" He grabbed her while they were still in the car and brought her to the front seat where she was still sleeping.
Lay grabbed her purse and got out at the same time as Key, he watched her walk to the door and he opened it for her. There was no kids in there at the moment and no parents either. Lay had called ahead of time to ask her for it to be that way due to Key being a celebrity.
The owner came out of the back and smiled widely as Key took off his disguise. She was very pretty and Lay was happy to see that a black woman owned the establishment. If Lay was gay, the girl definitely would've been her type.
"What a beautiful couple and an even cuter baby. You must be Chalynn, Key and Elianna?" She smiled extending her hand for each of them to shake. Eli was still sleep though. Lay got a vibe about the girl, a good one. Her smile was contagious.
"Oh, we just co-parent. Thank you, you must be Stacey?" Lay asked shaking her hand and looking around the establishment.
"That's me. I know how that is. Welcome to Small Smiles." Key smiled back at her and shook her hand.
"So I will walk you around the establishment and explain pricing and the hours as well as the curriculum that will be taught to Eli while she's here." Stacey explained, both parents nodded their head. Stacey looked familiar to Key though, like he saw her somewhere before.
"This is where Elianna will be with her teacher, which just so happens to be me. My son TJ is also in this class, maybe they'll be the best of friends." The parents nodded their heads impressed, that was another plus for them. Everything looked clean and put up in the facility.
"So how many children are in a class room?" Lay asked, "6, it's recommended that there is a 1:12 ratio with the children but here at Small Smiles we do a 1:6 just so each child gets the adequate amount of attention."
"Okay then, I know my baby is going to get a lot of love here. Sorry for all of the questions. Do we need to pack her a lunch or will that be provided?" Key was intrigued with all the questions she was asking. You really would've thought Eli came out of her.
"Don't be sorry ask all the questions you will like. It depends, you can pack her a lunch if that's more comfortable for you or she can get lunch and a snack here. It's included in your pricing. I will send you home with a lunch menu and you can look it over." Lay nodded her head, she was completely sold on Small Smiles.
Stacey sat them down and went over pricing and the curriculum. By that time Eli had woke up again and was adjusting now with her new teacher.
"What do you think pooh?" Lay looked over at Key who was reading the signs on the wall.

The Essence of Cultivation
After experiencing five years of an adventurer's life, Arcanist Sylar Wershin now spends his days catching up on developments in Essence Studies and teasing apart the functions of arcane trinkets and artifacts discovered by him and his companions throughout their time travelling the realms of Resham. An unexpected accident during the study of his latest subject of intrigue, however, displaces him across the Planes beyond what any known spell is capable of achieving. Now finding himself lost in a realm rich in previously-limited Transcendental Essences, however, does he truly even want to return back to his old world? If nothing else, plagiarising - ahem, learning new spell structures by observing the local mages should prove entertaining. Sure, there were new dangers in this foreign world, but they wouldn't be anything a fancy bit of spellwork couldn't solve. Though, he would appreciate it greatly if someone could explain to him just what this 'cultivation' business was, why the local Mages were all muscle-brained freaks obsessed with immortality, and why they all seemed to lack any appreciation for the finer details of Essence manipulation. That would be nice.
