Rose, the epitome of love,

Of royal fragrance, of beauty;

Petals as soft as a velvet glove,

With delicate leaves, green and sooty.

It is the queen of flowers, some say

Clad in prickly thorns,though it may

Red, yellow, pink and blue

It blooms in many, majestic hue.

Lily it is..slender, sleek and long

Warms the heart, lights a smile;

Graceful, tender, like a soulful song

Its presence known, around a mile.

It is the pride of ponds and lakes

Happy and joyful, a garden it makes.

Sweet, slightly strong aroma it has;

When wind whistles,it sways to jazz..

For the adult in me

This is a little silly,

But, would I be a rose? if I had to be..

Or a lily?
