“I’m going to breach the Castle wall,” Zoe told Sonya.

“I’ll keep an eye on the Dragon and watch for any other surprises,” the nurse replied as Zoe used Aperture on the ICE.

“The ICE is thicker than I anticipated,” Zoe muttered.

“That makes sense. How long do you think it’ll take to penetrate it?” Sonya replied. “We only have our diversion for two more minutes.”

“Two minutes unless we want to be caught,” Zoe answered. Sonya bit her lip.

“Ok. I’ll join the others to keep the Dragon distracted,” Sonya said. Zoe looked at her in concern. “Don’t worry, I’ll be out of cyberspace before you will.”

“That doesn’t make me feel any better either,” Zoe pointed out.

“That’s military life for you. You do your job and get out,” Sonya said. She offered something to Zoe. “Here, take this.”

“What is it?”

“A military antipersonnel ICE known as a Mine. Just place them around you and activate them. They’re just in case,” Sonya explained as Zoe accepted the ICE. “See you on the outside.”

“Good luck,” Zoe said.

“You too,” Sonya replied as she started moving away from Zoe. “Oh yeah, heed the warning on the Mine.”

“What?”

“You’ll see,” Sonya laughed. She waved and was gone.

“This side to enemy,” Zoe read on the VR Mine. She shook her head and placed three Mines around her far enough away not to get caught in whatever blast the ICE created when triggered. The Aperture was finished when she returned to the wall.

Zoe sent a Kunoichi through the gap Aperture had created in the Castle wall. Her intrusion daemon piggybacked on a communication packet. Zoe breathed a sigh of relief as the Dragon failed to notice the Kunoichi and finally took flight after Sonya.

“What did she do?” Zoe wondered as she watched the massive daemon fly away from the Castle. She was answered by an explosion that rocked the church’s network a few seconds later. “What the heck?”

“Focus Zoe. You need to hurry up,” Claire’s voice stated. “Sonya is fine.”

“Right. Ok,” Zoe replied turning back to her task. She started reading the priority messages from the church’s slicers and elders. Zoe laughed. “Sonya used multiple Tsunamis and some kind of bomb daemon to take out the Citadel and the Dragon is hunting her.”

A moment later, her Kunoichi alerted Zoe that it had penetrated the rest of the church’s network. She immediately sent out three Hogs to gather the incriminating data that she had promised Claire, as well as a Locust Swarm, several Rabbits, and other attack daemons. Two Foxes followed to help hide her position. Zoe watched as a pack of Hounds separated to track her Foxes and smiled.

“Now, it’s time to take everything from these assholes,” Zoe told herself as she went after the elders’ and church’s bank accounts. “Holy shit!”

“How’s it coming Zoe?” Claire asked.

“It’s coming. I need two, maybe three minutes,” Zoe answered. Between the church and the elders, there were at least 200 million credits hidden in accounts around the globe. Zoe went after it all. Instead of putting all the money in her accounts, Zoe had decided to hide the money in several offshore accounts under false identities in addition to sending millions to as many charities as she could in a short time.

“I can give you two,” Claire replied as what sounded like gunfire could be heard in the background on Doc Brown’s end.

“Doc, what is that?” Zoe asked. She muttered under her breath, “I really should have prepared transfers before this attack.”

“Nothing to worry about. Just some trouble with the neighbors,” Claire replied. “Get the data and get out.”

“The neighbors?” Zoe wondered. She shook her head to dismiss the thoughts. “I’m on it.”

“Good. Sonya just let me know the Dragon is on the way back to the Castle too.”

“That’s not good,” Zoe muttered as she looked up and saw a rapidly growing speck in the sky. Zoe launched an attack towards the Dragon. “It’s a good thing I bought that Atomic.”

The Dragon roared as it spotted Zoe. The beast angled towards her and started to descend. Zoe grinned as she took control of the Atomic and flew the missile into the Dragon’s chest. The resulting explosion knocked her off her feet. She looked up just in time to see a mushroom cloud billowing in the virtual sky.

“Holy shitballs!” Zoe exclaimed as she got to her feet. The church’s communications showed they were panicking now that the Dragon was destroyed. The elders were fleeing their compound fearing a raid by law enforcement. “That was awesome!”

Zoe’s daemons notified her that they were done, and she transmitted the data to Claire. Since the Dragon was dead and the rats were fleeing their sinking ship, Zoe took flight. She took a million credits and transferred it to her accounts since she wanted it to look like she took in case Claire and the others asked. Another nine million were hidden safely offshore while the rest was given to her chosen charities.

“That just leaves one thing to do,” Zoe told herself. She launched another Atomic at the church’s network. Zoe watched it destroy the network. Satisfied, she logged out of cyberspace.

“It’s so good of you to join us,” an unrecognized male voice said. Zoe blinked and her eyes widened in alarm. Zane, Claire, and the others were surrounded by armed men wearing body armor. The speaker pointed his pistol at Zoe, so she raised her arms up. He nodded as another man handcuffed her before speaking to someone else. “Ma’am, we’re secure and it’s safe for you to enter the clinic.”
