《Resurrect Nobody》Ch 6: Possessions

It was the morning of departure for Colt and Yuri to visit the higher ups of the Seishin Realm, and Colt managed to wake up early, believing that it would have been difficult after everything that happened yesterday.
Yuri had already headed out, so he decided to do the same as soon as he got ready.
A large machine stood in the center of the courtyard. It had two large arms, with no legs to speak of. The sheen sunlight reflected off of its pristine black coating. Staring at the machine reminded him of his younger days, when he used to watch gundam shows in the morning.
He was pulled from his brief nostalgia trip as Yuri stepped from behind the machine with a rag in hand.
"What's this?" asked Colt.
"It's my Lily Reaper..." She refused to face his way, hiding her face in her cleaning of the machine's frame.
"You even named it!" Now that he had gotten closer, the difference in height was alarming. The now named Lily Reaper was nearly the size of a garage. "That's pretty cool!"
"Is that so?" A gentle smile formed on her face, "My bad, I woke up early to clean it off in private, I didn't expect you to wake up. We can leave as soon as I'm finished."
"I don't mind, and I can help if-"
"I don't need any help. This thing's like my baby, so I'm not really comfortable with others touching it." She sprayed on a layer of some cleaning solution, letting rest for a bit, "I think I'm the only one that knows how to clean it properly anyway."
He squatted down beside her as excitement glossed his eyes, "I can respect that. What does it do, it looks crazy!"

"It's my main use of combat, and I can control it with my core energy." She wiped off the cleaning solution with a tight circular motion, "It's been through a lot over the years, and this is honestly its third model."
"Did you build this?"
"Yup, it's a lot of work to maintain, but I wouldn't be where I am today without it."
Seeing her delve into her passionate connection with her Lily Reaper was nothing short of fantastic. There was a subtle spark in her eyes as she carried on with explaining its uses, along with a gleeful joy carried within her voice.
"So..." She stood up dusted herself off, "I kind of went on a tangent there, but I'm finished. Do you have anything that you cherish? I bet it'd be way less embarrassing than what I just said-"
"That wasn't embarrassing at all!" said Colt as he rose to his feet, "You just find a way to get cooler every second!"
"Thanks..."
"And to answer your question, I do." He held onto the necklace hanging from his neck, "This necklace is like another part of my body, I keep it on always. It was the last gift I got from my girlfriend on our anniversary."
"That's sweet." Yuri rubbed his shoulder, "It looks pretty."
"It does...She had a good eye for jewelry."
"Well...I think I'm finished, so we can head out if you're ready." She walked over and tapped the side of the Lily Reaper, making it shrink into a small capsule, "And I'm sorry for bringing up a sensitive topic yesterday."
"Don't worry about it, I wasn't really upset-But where did that huge machine just go?" He stumbled over as she retrieved another capsule from her pocket.

"I'll explain some other time, let's leave for now." She tossed the capsule to the ground, summoning a sleek, futuristic car.
"And just when I thought I'd seen it all," He walked over and gazed at the exterior of the vehicle, "Are you a time traveler or something? This looks like something out of a sci-fi movie!"
"I'm no time traveler, I just had a lot of free time on my hands." She got into the driver's seat, with Colt sitting in the passenger's seat.
The interior was just as amazing as the exterior, resembling the cockpit of some hyper-galactic super computer.
Yuri sighed as she powered on the car, "Let's get this meeting over with."

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.
