The caged bird chained within the boundaries

Wants to sing and fly overreaching the haven of the filament

It thrives, it purrs-

but duty burden their dreams and desire

-----

Long limbs, skinned with various colour

try to take flight towards unknown destination

Like a sailor

-----

But with wings chaffed and

dreams shackled

Is there ever a freedom ?

Or are we only flailing flickers of emotion?

Worn and battered beneath the skin--

We look for wisdom and a wise swing

----

Our haggard eyes hiding lulls of colour

If only the rules of life allowed little freedom and valour...
