《Burning Tears》Two (1)

Mykonos, Greece, June 15, 2019.
Crisp salty air filled her nostrils bracing her, warm sun rays laying peacefully over her body. Deep hoarse chuckle ringed into her ears, her full lips responded with a small smile as she drifted up her sunglasses. The sun was strong, hitting her eyes. All she could see was the person who just chuckled.
Tall muscled dark-haired man and golden retriever dog playing in the clear water of the Aegean Sea, her heart raced when she glimpsed his beautiful smile. She closed her eyes again and put the sunglass back. Subtle steps over the soft sand walking toward her laying body. She smiled again, feeling him getting closer. Joy filled her heart and butterflies filled her stomach.
She felt his body sitting next to her. Electricity ran through her skin. His hand cupped her smiling face. She didn't open her eyes, yet she hummed when she felt his warm breath above her face and his hair dripping over her chest. His lips softly brushed over hers and moved away. She wanted him; she wanted his kiss. Held onto his arm, pushing him slightly closer to her, craving his touch and his soul.
Water splatted harshly over Theia's head. She gasped for air and popped her eyes open, feeling like her soul snatched out of her body. She looked over her shoulder and saw Eleni crossing her arms. Next to her was a small plastic bucket. "Will you ever wake me up like a normal person?!" Theia said and moved her ashy blonde hair away from her face.
"Will you ever wake up like a normal person?" Eleni throws a towel at her and sat on a chair behind her without breaking eye contact with Theia. "the only two methods that work are slap you or throw some water over your head."
Theia threw back the towel at Eleni and got out of her bed, heading to the bathroom. Eleni's eyes followed her till she closed the door and said, "What is wrong with you? Like for real, what is the issue here?"
"What?"
"Why did you ruin it? What did I ever do to you?! You keep putting me into this shit and now I'm facing it alone!"

"What are you talking about?" Theia said and went back to her room. Eleni glared at her. "Oh, that, I don't know. It didn't feel right."
Eleni rolled her eyes and said, "It didn't feel right! That man is a goal! You know how many of our friends wished they could get a date with him! That was the seventh guy I set you up with!"
"What do you want me to say? You set me up with a total playboy!" Theia said and sat on the bed facing her. "I couldn't help it; he's not the one."
Eleni sighed, looking annoyed. "I set you up with many men possible, the player type, the marriage type, the one-night stand type, even the bi curious type! And you still looking for the one, you need to get over that fantasy shit."
"You know it's not a fantasy! You heard it too, and you even drew the tattoo yourself. My love is somewhere looking for me and I will meet him."
Eleni sneered and said, "No, really, you need to get over it. You can't live your life over a fortuneteller's words. It doesn't work in real life and that tattoo means nothing. It is just a drawing." Theia looked over her right wrist where the tattoo laid under her skin in deep black ink. Her mind swirled over the memory behind it.
Theia and Eleni were born into two families who were best friends throughout generations. It started with their grandmothers from their mother's side and then their mothers and finally with them. They were born few months apart; they celebrated everything together and mostly felt like two sisters rather than just childhood friends. On their sixteenth birthday, their families organized a two-week trip to Egypt, where Theia's life changed forever.
Eleni's grandmother Helena was a spiritual person who believe in the power of fortune-telling and how it can change one's life encounter to Theia's grandmother Eirene who always called her crazy for believing such things. Helena was the one who chose Egypt for the girls' birthday. Her reason was its beautiful culture.
Or that what she told the girls.

Eirene knew the real reason; when they were in their early twenties, they went to Egypt and had, as what Helena likes to describe it, the most important trip in their lives. They met an old palmist in a small neighborhood in Aswan. She predicted her future and gave her advice about matters in her life that she didn't even know.
Everything the palmist said happened exactly one year after their trip. As Eirene expected, Helena arranged a whole day to look for the famous palmist. She went along because deep down; she believed her as well. The grandmothers insisted on having the girls only with them while they went to find the palmist, leaving the rest of their families exploring the city.
They found the neighborhood and with the help of the locals, they could find the palmist herself. As beautiful as Helena and Eirene remembered her, the palmist welcomed them with a beautiful smile and warm hugs. Common characteristic of the Nubian people was clear to everyone's face in the colorful city, beautiful ageless faces, glowing skin, charming smiles, and the friendliest personalities ever.
Helena tried to remind the palmist about her, yet shockingly, she knew who she was. The palmist joked about her age that it is only a number because her soul and mind are immortal. She read everyone's palm and told them regular things that seemed right and on point. When Theia's turn came up, the palmist face seemed puzzled, a strange look that clearly looked foreign to her relaxed, angelic face. She called her oldest daughter, who shared the same beauty as her mother. She told her to look at Theia's palm. The daughter shared the same puzzled look like her mother.
She whispered something to her, then went out for a few seconds before coming back holding a tray with four small cups of coffee. The daughter gave each a cup to drink and told them she would read their fortune as well. They didn't argue and drank their coffee. The oldest daughter read their fortune with a big smile on her face.
The palmist looked again at Theia's palm, then at her cup. She told her that her future has one mystery that only she and her friend could solve. She told Eleni to look at Theia's cup and describe what she saw inside. Eleni saw random lines and a clear shape on the handle area. The palmist told her to draw it and handed her a piece of paper and a blue ink pen. The palmist told her to draw with her heart, not her eyes, and follow her intuition.
Eleni eyed the cup for a bit before starting drawing. Her hands were light like a feather on the empty paper. Slim, soft hand with space between each finger that seemed filled with another hand, yet Eleni only drew one. It was delicate and silky; the index finger was the pointiest with thin thread rolled over it with a loose end.
Eleni blinked as she put down the pen and looked at everyone, almost feeling her conscious was swoon out of her for a bit. The palmist smiled at her and told them that Theia's destiny and soulmate tied to this drawing. She grabbed Theia's hand and told her to keep this paper and to look for her soulmate.
"I can't get over it," Theia said and looked at Eleni, who still looked annoyed. "it's not just a tattoo or the old lady's words, I had dreams about him, it feels like I have a double life where I'm with him," — Eleni relaxed her arms yet not her face, she looked altered as if Theia's words triggered something in her brain. "It feels too real. I don't know how I should feel, but it's like a major Déjà vu."
Eleni's eyes shifted in worry, but she punched her shoulder and said, "You're just overthinking. You want to find him so bad that your brain gives you fake memories to satisfy your lonely soul."
Theia felt Eleni's irony stabbing her and shattering any possibility of her dreams to become a reality. She smiled at her and stood up to change. Eleni smiled back and told her to be quick right after closing the door behind her.

Giantslayer
Synopsis: Alain is a fledgling Giantslayer, enhanced individuals capable of killing deadly giants. But these giants are not big, they are what ancient humans would refer to as mundane animals or beasts. 'The Final Curse' as many humans call it, was a curse that shrunk down the entire human population to the size of small rodents. When the curse first occurred, the majority of the human population was eaten by beasts who are now of towering heights and sizes. But their abandoned gargantuan structures were not built for naught, the remaining humans retreated back into their now giant buildings and rebuild societies and nations inside of them. Follow Alain in his quest to right the wrongs done to his past and hunt down the elusive and mythical Elder Giants, giants capable of intellects and speech. Are they real? Alain certainly insists so despite no one believing him. But perhaps it did not matter, they were real enough to him for what they did to his family. A/N: I'm pretty new to writing creatively so I hope to improve as we move along the story. The prose I use is still fairly simple and 'plain', but I am also new to literature in general so I am hoping to improve my vocabulary as well. It should also come under no surprise that I am a non-native English speaker and writer as well. With that said, I do appreciate constructive feedback. Please don't be overly mean at least. All the chapters are rough drafts that will be edited in the future. The cover is by this user from pixiv: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/4545042
