"What you did was fraud and is punishable by law. I cannot believe you did that! Are you insane?! What are we gonna do?! What am I gonna do? I don't wanna be married right now, and especially to someone like you!" Claire collapsed on the chair after her rant. She was at a loss, she already thought all the possibilities why this happened - she thought that it was just a prank or maybe a typographical error done by someone. She even thought that maybe, just maybe with a slip of fate, there is another Claire Marie Sullivan living somewhere in the state that was born the same day as her - but not this very sole reason - a made up marriage contract with her name that was thought purely out of coincidence.

Lucas cannot believe that the woman in front of him with angelic face is about to toss him into the pits of hell - for how she is ranting at him and about to breath fire. The woman have a venom in her mouth if crossed. He continued to admire her with how beautiful she looks when mad but something in her monologue caught his attention.

"I can clearly understand why you ranted, and why you don't want to be married yet, given that you are still young. What I don't understand is why you wouldn't want to be married to someone like me." Lucas asked her incredulously while pointing a finger on himself.

She eyed the man in front of her, her eyes raking from head to toe and back. She did this several times until she saw him became uncomfortable. Surely, she can appreciate his good looks, yes, but not his attitude at the moment, there is the arrogance and condescending manner that comes with being good-looking and wealthy, as well as the knowledge that he can have anything at their beck and call, yes, anything including women. She bet all the women within the ten-mile radius will grovel at his feet if he will just say so. She also knows that his kind are the come and go type, not the one who will stick to one.

"Yes, I don't want to be married to you. I don't like your guts and I know that I am not your type either. I may look enticing to you right now with my features - not that I am bragging - to the point that maybe you thought of dating me, or if we go to the extreme, get me into your bed. But I know that you are someone who do not want any commitment at all, and I want a man who will commit to me until the end. My reasoning may come to you as being hopelessly romantic, but this is me. I believe in being with someone you love and being love in return no matter who and what you are including all your flaws. I grew up in household full of love, so I definitely want one as well." She explained lenghtly.

"So you think that I am a playboy?" Lucas asked her incredulously.

"Yes. Do you deny it?" She asked with a raised brow.

"Well, it's true that I did not have any serious relationship with any woman that I have been with, but do you think, that maybe, just maybe I haven't found the right one yet?" Lucas countered her.

"Okay, just for the sake of this argument I will ask you something.. Do you believe that you will find someone who will be your right one? Do you believe in love at all?" Claire asked him while leaning forward, her mesmerizing eyes boring into him until something just snapped - something that he couldn't quite understand - his eyes widened and mouth agaped. He was about to answer but she beat him into it.

"Well, I think we both know the answer to my questions. It took you long moment to give one. You do not believe in commitment or at the idea of love, so you will never do such thing, not now, not ever. And because of that you committed this problem that we are in right now."

"You already judged me, so how can I counter that?" He snapped at her with a deep scowl.

"I am not judging you, I just stated a fact, that we both know are true. But anyway, we were so far with what we should be discussing." She turn the topic with a flip of her hand. "We should be discussing what we will do with our current predicament which is me being married to you." She calmly stated while pointing her slender finger from her to him.

"Wait, I will just call my lawyer to help us with this especially in terms of legal issues." Lucas said, stood and turned towards the windows, took his phone from his jacket pocket and called Drake who took the call at the second ring.

"Hey Drake, are you busy right now?" He inquired while turning his head eyeing his visitor who is now calmly sitting on the sofa. It only took a second to have an answer.

"No, I'm not busy right now. Why? Is there a problem?" Drake asked from the other line.

"Would you mind coming in my office. We have a situation here." He answered tensely.

"Okay, give me ten minutes, I am actually planning to drop by this afternoon. See you in ten buddy." He hung up after Drake answered.

He returned to his seat and told Claire that his lawyer will come in ten minutes, which she answered with just a nod, a sign that she heard.

While waiting, he then tried to read the woman in front of him, she is holding herself like she is born with it, a grace and poise and something else, an innate sense of being comfortable with oneself, as well as she's acting like she is born with wealth. Yes, she grazed her eyes into his office when she first step into it but not the way that a person will do when suddenly encountered with something new to them, she simply look around, as if she have been to a one opulent office - a CEO's office in fact - before. Judging by her clothes, they are all of high quality, he knows one when he sees one, he is experienced in having an eye to things with a good quality, what's with all the gifts he purchased to all the women he dated before. Yes, he is someone who buys and chose the gifts he bestowed to his woman, he wants it to have a personal touch, eventhough his feelings maybe temporary or far from serious. He may fleet from one to another, but only after he stopped seeing the last one. He is not dating different women at the same time. He will talked to them first until it is clear to them that he wants out before he go to the next one. It is not that he do it on purpose, the women are the one dropping on his feet - not that he is boasting and all - but it is the truth.

He cleared his throat again which he is doing quite too much since he met his fake wife. When he saw that her eyes directed to him, he opened his mouth. "So, while we are waiting for my lawyer to come, maybe we can talk or something."

"We can talk, I guess, but no to the 'something' that you mentioned." She said while motioning a quotation marks with her fingers at the word something.

"It is not a sexual inuendo. I could mean a game or anything but nothing sexual." He countered while giving her a glare.

"Okay. I was just teasing you. I didn't know you could be a prude." She said while looking at him through the rim of the glass that she had been drinking, her green eyes full of mirth.

Although he smiled at her playfulness, he kept to himself and instead shown a poker face. "Anyway, as what I have been saying, we can chat to kill the time, you agree?" A nod and a hum was all he got to confirm that she agreed.

"Okay. I was just curious with what you said awhile ago." He started; when he saw that Claire is looking at him, anticipation to what he is about to say evident on her face, he continued. "What if you will not meet that someone, the one you will love and love you in return and be with you until the end?"

She is quiet for sometime, brows furrowing, lips pursed as she thought of his question. She smacked her lips first before answering him. "Well, if I did not meet him, then I will die a spinster. Maybe he is not born yet, or was born too early that is why we did not met."

"So, you really believe in one great love?" He questioned with a raised brow.

"Yes, I do believe that all of us have that someone whom we are destined to be with. Maybe it is not yet time for them to meet or be together because that is the will of fate. But their time will come eventually, maybe not just in this lifetime." Claire explained, her hands flying to emphasize her point.

"You believe in soulmate then? Because you mentioned about fate and destiny." She saw Lucas' brows furrowing with his question.

"Yes, I also believe in the thing called destiny and soulmate. There will always be a way for two people to meet each other at a given time. They may not realize it at first, but the universe will conspire for them to be together." She said with a wistful smile.

He doesn't want to break that smile but what he is about to say will clearly do it. "I do not believe in what you said, all of it actually." He saw her raised her brow in question, urging him to explain what he said.

"I can come up with several reasons for that. First of all, I did not grew up to parents who are in love with each other. I did not saw my father gazed adoringly at my mother or be besotted at her, not even once. Maybe because their's was an arranged one, they've been engaged since they were kids. Growing up, they already know that they will marry each other come time. I don't know why they did not disagree with the match or question it when clearly they do not want to be with each other. Although I never felt loved coming from my parents, I do receive it from both my mother and my paternal grandmother." When Claire did not give any comment, he continued.

"Another thing is that I did not felt it yet, not with any woman I've been with, and they are more than both our hands and feet combined."

Her jaw slacked at that. "You mean, not even once you felt something towards any of them?" "Not even when you were younger or in your teens?" She added when Lucas shook his head at the first question.

"I cannot believe it. No first love or puppy love at least?" She blew a disbelieving breath.

"That is why you cannot blame me if I do not believe in all the things that you said."

She was about to quip another remark when they heard a knock and saw the door opening.

"Hey man, what's up?" The stranger went directly to Lucas as the latter stood and approach the man. They both gave a brotherly hug to each other first before Lucas turned to her for introduction.

"Claire, this is my lawyer and bestfriend Drake Wilde. Drake, I want you to meet Ms. Claire Marie Sullivan, she has the same name as my wife on the fake marriage contract that we made several months ago."

She brought her hand forward for a shake that never came. She was about to ask why when she realized that the lawyer was frozen in shock in front of her.
