《With You (A Kamijirou Fanfic)》Chapter 13

"Kyoka? Keijirou-ni? What are you doing?" Oh. Kyoka turned around to see the person she wanted to see last. Hajime smirked at his younger cousin, pulling Kyoka into an even tighter squeeze.
"Heya, Denki! What am I doing? Just hugging my cute girlfriend, here, Kyoka-chan! She's cute, isn't she?"
Denki froze, his face contorted. "Girlfriend? I don't recall Kyoka and you meeting up before. And how many times are you gonna call her cute?" Denki had muttered the last part under his breath. Unfortunately, Hajime had heard him.
"As many times as I want. I'd be lying if I said she wasn't. We've met, but haven't talked. I just had to confess my love for her, am I right Kyoka-chan?" Kyoka didn't know how to respond but instead she nodded her head. This was all just a play to get Denki jealous.
Denki studied the scene before him. His beloved..snatched up by his own cousin! Of course he felt jealous, he loved her. No one was allowed to call her cute but him. Why did you choose him, Kyoka? Why not me? he thought sadly. Could Denki really be just a friend and nothing more? He stood, poker-faced as two pairs of eyes stared back. Denki would have realized that this was all fake...if he hadn't been so clueless. Or else, he would have seen that Kyoka looked immensely uncomfortable, like she had wanted none of this.
Defeated and completely lost, Denki turned and left before anyone could see his tear-filled eyes. It was Kyoka's choice, not his. She doesn't even deserve someone like him. How could she?
Kyoka watched Denki's disappearing figure. He didn't even bother to push it further? Kyoka couldn't help it, tears just kept on falling. Falling hard. For him.
(Hajime's POV)

I watched the two break down. Denki may act like he's all happy, but in the end he's always suffering deep inside. It kinda hurt me to hurt him this way, but it's for the best.
And Kyoka-chan...she seems like she's scared to open up to anyone. Not even to her own best friend. She was so dense in her love for him..it's so obvious.
I wasn't lying to Denki when I said that we've met before, it felt like it was just yesterday that it happened. The day I fell in love with his best friend.
*Flashback*
"Hey, Keijirou-kun! What're you eating for lunch? Oh! Why don't we sit together?" said the girl I was escorting. Girls just love me for some reason. It was nice at first, but eventually it got a bit annoying. Just because you look pretty, doesn't mean you can do what you want!
I yawned as I zoned out. My eyes lazily moved around the room, examining every detail except for the girl clinging onto me. That's when I spotted her. Her purple hair; her small, petite build; her twinkling eyes; most importantly, her adorable laugh. It was almost everything I wanted in a girl. I didn't know who she was. I HAD to know her name, at best!
"Yoooo! Keiji-nii! Over here!" I spotted my younger cousin and grinned. Denki is as energetic as ever.
My other cousin was disturbing some students. "Sorry, Denks, it's Neito again." I said rolling my eyes, leaving him to check out what that kid's doing.
"Aye! Neito-kun! Whatcha doing here, bro?" I said, smiling. "Disturbing Class A again?" But before he could respond, I was already giving him a noogie. "What makes you think you can make the Hajime family look low, huh? My, what would Aunt say?"

"N-nii-san! Stop! Staaawwp!!" I turned to the auburn-haired girl who I assumed to be the class rep. "I trust you to take care of this brat of a cousin. Sorry for the trouble he caused!"
I went back to join Denki...only to find him talking with that girl. That adoring look on his face at that moment was the first time I've ever seen it. The blush on the girl's face didn't go unnoticed either. Though, both of them seemed oblivious towards their feelings for one another. She said something, looking embarrassed and left to join her friends, leaving Denki with a derpy look on his face.
"Hey, Denks, who's that girl you were talking to?" I asked, curious about this mystery girl. "Uh..Denki? Hello?"
The dummy snapped out of his trance. "Oh! Nii-san, that's Jirou. Jirou Kyoka. She's my classmate and best friend. Why?"
"I dunno, you guys seem like more than just best friends to me," I teased, despite the lingering pain in my heart that the girl's heart belonged to someone else. I'd willingly give her up for my cute cousin's happiness.
If I were to describe a tomato, I would've just said it was Denki, there and then. "W-what!! Keiji-nii, that's a funny joke! Where'd you hear that...?"
Bruh. This kid....cousin or not, I wanna slap him with my shoe for his denseness. That's saying something...because I..hadn't had the chance to wash my shoes in ages. *cough* "Are you stupid? You. L I k e. H E R. What the heck, dude?? Thanks for the second hand embarrassment."
Denki stared at me, at a loss for words. "I dunno...she's not my type, y'know? And it's better off if we were just friends." I wanted to facepalm so hard at that moment. My cousin was stupid, but I never thought he'd be this dumb. I sighed then grinned again.
"So, you wouldn't mind if I took her right?"
"Um...I guess? I mean, it's her choice," Denki said, shoving spoonfuls of rice and pork curry into his mouth.
Yeah, I remember well. About how stupid my cousin can be sometimes. I looked at the girl beside me with pity in my eyes.
"Don't worry, Kyoka-chan," I told her, putting my hand on her shoulder to comfort her. I won't hug her anymore, I'm a gentleman after all. I grinned. "I'll help you get with him, no matter what. Even if he refuses, I won't hesitate to pummel him to a pulp until he says yes!"
"O-oh, okay.....!"
