["In the Jungle" Scene]

{The camera switches to a jungle scene. We hear Anguirus singing the familiar bass to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Rodan joins in as they walk towards the camera. A Capella.}

Anguirus: {Singing} Ohi'mbube

{etc.....}

Rodan: {Singing} In the jungle

The mighty jungle

The lion sleeps tonight.

In the jungle

The mighty jungle

{Anguirus turns to follow a bug; he fades out.}

Rodan: {Singing} The lion sleeps... {Speaking} I can't hear you, buddy, back me up!

{Anguirus has faded out, having followed the bug stage left. The following line is in full and good falsetto.}

Rodan: A-WEEEE-ee-EE-ee ba-Pum-ba-bum-ba-way

{Realizing Anguirus is not there}

Rodan: A-Anguirus?

Anguirus?

{Camera switch to Anguirus following the bug. He is still humming the bass. He stalks the bug up to a log, theatrically hiding behind a tree. When he tries to jump over the log he gets stuck momentarily and looks back.}

Anguirus: {Spooked} Rodan? {Looks around, then shrugs}

{He jumps over the log. As he views the bug at close range, the camera (at his viewpoint) switches focus from it to a pair of blue eyes out in the grass. The camera closes up on a human hunteress getting ready to jump as she throws her spear at Anguirus who then sees it and dodges just in time as the spear lands right in front of him.}

Anguirus: YEEEEAAAHHH!

{He runs, with the human hunteress in hot pursuit while picking up her spear. The human hunteress, let out a war cry. Camera switch to Rodan.}

Rodan: {Hearing the noise of the chase} Anguirus?

{The camera switches back to the human hunteress chasing Anguirus around at high speed, then the camera switches to Rodan.}

Rodan: {Running to find to Anguirus} Anguirus! Anguirus!

{Anguirus runs near Rodan and bumps into him very hard then they both quickly recovered.}

Rodan: Anguirus! Anguirus! Hey, what's goin' on?

Anguirus: SHE'S GONNA EAT ME!

Rodan: Huh?

{Rodan looks behind Anguirus and sees the human hunteress charging at full speed towards them. He and Anguirus made a run for it unfortunately they stopped at a huge dead end surrounded with thick bushes and trees.}

Rodan: {Seeing the human hunteress} Woah! ... Jeez! Why do I always have to get into your AAAAAA!

Anguirus: AAAAAA!

{On the AAAAAA!, Rodan sees the human hunteress was about to close on Anguirus and he is in the line of attack. At the last minute, Godzilla bursts through the trees and bounds over Anguirus and catches the human hunteress head on at full force. They start fighting savagely.}

Anguirus: {Hides in the bush for cover as he shakes in fear.}

Rodan: {To Anguirus} Don't worry, buddy. I'm here for ya. Everything's gonna be okay. {To Godzilla} Get her! Bite her head! Go for the jugular. The jugular! {to Anguirus} See, I told you he'd come in handy.

{The two tangle for a bit more. The fight becomes a wrestling. Godzilla grabs the human hunteress's spear then breaks it in half. The human hunteress flips Godzilla and pins him with a loud thump. Godzilla is startled by this. The human hunteress is still baring her teeth. Godzilla, however, is very surprised and no longer threatening.}

Godzilla: Serena?

{She immediately backs off and looks at Godzilla, examining him.}

Godzilla: Is it really you?

Serena: Who are you?

Godzilla: It's me. Godzilla.

Serena: Godzilla? {Pause for realization} Whoah!

{Godzilla and Serena run together and hugged each other. The greetings are enthused and run over each other.}

Serena: Well how did you.. where did you come from... it's great to see YOU... (etc)

Godzilla: Aaah! How did you... who... wow... this is cool... it's great to see you...

{Camera view of Rodan who is completely baffled by this sudden change}

Rodan: Hey, what's goin' on here?

Godzilla: {Still to Serena} What are you doing here?

Serena: What do you mean, "What am I doing here?" What are you doing here?

Rodan: HEY! WHAT'S GOIN' ON HERE!?!?!

Godzilla: Rodan, this is Serena. She's my best friend!

Rodan: {Thoroughly confused} Friend?!?

Godzilla: Yeah. Hey, Anguirus, come over here.

{Anguirus comes out of the bush surprised.}

Huh?

Godzilla: Serena, this is Anguirus. Anguirus, Serena.

Anguirus: Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Serena: The pleasure's all mine.

Rodan: How do you do.. Whoa! Whoa. Time out.. Lemme get this straight. You know her. She knows you. But she wants to eat him. And everybody's... okay with this? DID I MISS SOMETHING?!?

Godzilla: Relax, Rodan.

Serena: Wait till everybody finds out you've been here all this time! And your mother... what will she think?

Godzilla: {Misunderstanding} She doesn't have to know. Nobody has to know.

Serena: Well, of course they do. Everyone thinks you're dead.

Godzilla: They do?

Serena: Yeah. SpaceGodzilla told us about the stampede.

Godzilla: He did? Well... {beginning to see something} what else did he tell you?

Serena: What else matters? You're alive. and that means... you're the king.

Rodan: King? Pbbb. Lady, have you got your fingers crossed.

Anguirus: King? Your Majesty! I gravel at your feet. {Noisily kisses Godzilla's foot}

Godzilla: Stop it.

Rodan: {To Anguirus} It's not "gravel." It's "grovel." And DON'T-- he's not the king. {to Godzilla} Are ya?

Godzilla: No.

Serena: Godzilla?

Godzilla: No, I'm not the king. Maybe I was gonna be, but... that was a long time ago.

Rodan: Let me get this straight. You're the king? And you never told us?

Godzilla: Look, I'm still the same guy.

Rodan: {Enthusiastic} But with power!

Serena: {Apologetic} Could you guys... excuse us for a few minutes?

Rodan: Hey, {taps Anguirus} whatever she has to say, she can say in front of us. Right, Godzilla?

Godzilla: Hmm. Maybe you'd better go.

Rodan: {Aghast, then resigned} It starts. You think you know a guy...

{Anguirus and Rodan pad off. Anguirus sighs.}

Godzilla: Rodan and Anguirus. You learn to love 'em.

{Serena has her head bowed down sadly.}

Godzilla: What? ...What is it?

Serena: {Quietly} It's like you're back from the dead. You don't know how much this will mean to everyone. {Pained expression} ...What it means to me.

Godzilla: Hey, it's okay.

Serena: {Hugs Godzilla} I've really missed you.

Godzilla: {Startled by Serena's boldness for an instant, then hugs her back} I've missed you too.

["Can You Feel the Love Tonight" Scene]

{They are hugging each other. We hear Rodan sigh; camera switch to show them watching from the bushes.}

Rodan: {Heavy sigh} I tell you, Anguirus, this stinks.

Anguirus: Oh. Sorry.

Rodan: Not you. Them! Him. Her. Alone.

Anguirus: What's wrong with that?

Rodan: {Singing. Parenthetical part is spoken by Anguirus.} I can see what's happening

(What?)

And they don't have a clue

(Who?)

They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line

Our trio's down to two.

(Oh.)

{In a sarcastic mock-French accent} Ze sweet caress of twilight

{Back to normal, but still sarcastic} There's magic everywhere

And with all this romantic atmosphere

Disaster's in the air

{The scene passes from Rodan and Anguirus to Godzilla and Serena in front of a waterfall.}

Female Singer: Can you feel the love tonight?

The peace the evening brings?

The world, for once, in perfect harmony

With all its living things.

{After walking around each other, taking in each other's movements, they stop to drink at the water.}

Godzilla: {Thinking} So many things to tell her

But how to make her see

The truth about my past? Impossible!

She'd turn away from me.

Serena: {Thinking} He's holding back, he's hiding

But what? I can't decide

Why won't he be the king I know he is?

The king I see inside?

{During the Chorus the following occurs: Godzilla looks at Serena, smiles, and runs off stage. He runs back on stage, grabs a vine in his hands and splashes into the middle of the pond. Serena looks out over the still water. Suddenly Godzilla lunges up under her and pulls her in the pond playfully. She immediately comes out dripping and miffed. When Godzilla comes out, she pushes him back in. The scene switches to them tussling. They end up play fighting. After tumbling down a hillside, Godzilla ends up pinning Serena for a first. She gives him a kiss on the cheek. Godzilla looks startled and stares at Serena. Close-up of Serena, as she stares back with a seductive smile. Close-up of Godzilla, whose expression changes from a surprised one to a comprehending one.. The two then kissed each other on the lips as the last lyrics are sung.}

{Camera switches back to a tearful Rodan and Anguirus.}
