《[1] The Allure of Darkness》06

Dear Diary, I'm not sure how to start this, but I am a Vampire now...I am also still a witch, and no one is sure what to make of this. The Bennet witches tricked Stefan into turning me, and it seems like this is how things are going to be. Bennet magic is very stubborn, and it might be a while before we figure things out. We know where Bonnie is, and we know that she is alive. Which is more information than I had before, Damon and Caroline have been trying to help me hunt. None of the blood I've tried has been staying down...which is a major problem. The Miss Mystic Falls pageant is in 3 days, as Caroline keeps reminding me, I still don't have a dress, and honestly I don't care. Fuck that pagent, fuck the Bennet witches, fuck this stupid little town for sucking me into its drama, and fuck it all. I'm gonna do what the fuck I want until the solution comes to me, so what better way to becomes brain numb than a party
-Blaise
"I don't think it's a good Idea to have a party." Caroline said, she was sitting on the ground, knees brought up to her chest. Damon was checking the forest for unsuspecting humans who may have been camping in the forest. Which who the hell would be dumb enough to be camping in the middle of winter?
"Why don't you trust me?" I asked, voice full of mischief. I couldn't help but smirk, Caroline had no reason to be scared of me... if I was just an average vampire.
"You want the truth?" She asked me, her blue eyes weary of my movements as I practiced karate moves with a fake opponent.
"The truth." I responded not looking in her direction, though I was very aware of her. I could feel my gums stinging, I held back a groaning noise. That's something that's been happening for a while, and it's putting me in an irritated mood.
"No I don't trust you, not like this...you're not just a vampire Blaise, you're a witch-vampire hybrid. That has never existed before, we know nothing about it, and it's not a good idea to just let you do what you want." Caroline said, though to me it felt more like nagging. No, it felt more like bitching, and I wasn't sure what it was about today, but I was tired of hearing it.
"It sounds like you're scared of me Caroline, that sounds like a you problem. Because everything was all copacetic when I was a powerless witch, but now not only am I going to be prettier than you, I'm also going to be stronger than you...yea I'd feel threatened too." I said stopping my imaginary sparring match, I turned to her moving slowly at first, not wanting to come off as a threat. My gums burning even more, my eyebrows scrunched together, I swipe my Tongue across my gums trying to smooth the ache.
Caroline tensed when I turned towards her, she immediately argued back. "No, I didn't say that, I never felt like you were powerless. Though you were less of a bitch, I think this new found power is going to your head, and maybe you need to calm down." Caroline said, unable to hold back her attitude, she felt offended by Blaise accusations.
"Hm, you think I'm bitchy, so what are you gonna do about it?" I question her, my mothers amulet around my neck damn near burning me, adding to my agitation. Caroline shook her head, she didn't want to fight Blaise, because she didn't want to hurt her.

"I'm not fighting you, that dumb." Caroline said
"Well if you're not gonna throw the first punch..." I said, Caroline got into a ready to fight stance, unsure of what Blaise was gonna do.
"You're just saying all this because your senses are heightened Blaise-" Caroline tried to reason with her, Blaise lifted her right hand, her palm facing towards Caroline. Suddenly a gust of wind knocked Caroline off her feet, and into a nearby tree. It wasn't enough to kill her or knock her unconscious, but it was enough to make Caroline dizzy.
Blaise chuckled darkly, she liked the surge of power coursing though her body, it felt warm, and electric wrapping around her body. It gave her goosebumps, making her shiver in delight. I stepped forward, and was already standing in front of Caroline. I grab onto her shoulder gripping on tightly, and I stomp my platform boot into Caroline's knee snapping it instantly. The pain was so bad, Caroline couldn't even cry out, her mouth just hung open and pain shot all over her body.
"Don't move, I'll show you powerless, and I'm so hungry...I don't think I can wait any longer." I groaned, and that was all true, it's been two days since I've been turned. That's two whole days without a meal, to say I'm impatient is an understatement.
"Blaise no-" Caroline begged, and a sick part of me liked that she was begging for me not to hurt her, without thinking, my fangs pushed through my gums achingly, and my eyes stung. Next thing I knew, I was tearing into Caroline's soft pale skin, her velvety sweet blood spilling into my mouth. I opened my eyes, and suddenly, a reel of memories were flashing in my eyes. They were all Caroline memories, from the second Kathrine turned her into a vampire, all the way up till a few moments ago, and I saw myself, the way I looked when I attacked her. Instantly feeling guilty and disgusting, I felt an ice cold hand wrap around my wrist yanking me off Caroline. When I met Damon's baby blue eyes, and the remorse he had in them, I couldn't stand it. I did something I'd never thought I'd do, I ran...and I ran as far as I could.

"How did you lose your own girlfriend?" Stefan questions? Things were kind of tense between the two brothers right now considering Stefan is partly responsible for Blaise being half witch, half vampire. Damon's attitude was worse than usual, he hasn't been holding back at all.
"I don't know Stefan, the same way you lost yours, being dumb." Damon said sarcastically, he was pissed for sure, but his tone stayed calm. Damon wanted to wreck the whole room, but he knew that would solve nothing. He looked everywhere, or at least he thought he did, it's only so many places in Mystic falls she could go.
Stefan scoffs at Damon's remark, he just shakes his head, Stefan was not one to play verbal tit for tat with Damon. Petty was not Stefan's forte, but Damon was a professional at it, which Stefan can see why Damon and Blaise got along. "She couldn't have gotten that far, did you check the school?" Caroline suggested, she wasn't going to say anything, she didn't wanna be the next target. As usual though, Caroline couldn't stop herself from opening her mouth.
"Gee blonde that would be a great idea...if Blaise actually liked school, that would be the last place she'd be, plus Elena, and Kathrine is there. If they saw her, one of them would say something, Kathrine can't resist the urge to snitch on her." Suddenly there was a knock on the door, no one moved, Damon sniffed the air, he was disappointed when he realized it wasn't Blaise.

"Well I can't stand here all day mate." A British voice from the other side of the door, The three younger vampires became erect, not moving a muscle. Stefan shook his head, signaling to Damon not to open the door. Of course the older sibling didn't listen, he sped forward to the door opening it. A pair of deep blue eyes, met his ice blue ones, a smirk on blondes lips, Damon rolled his eyes. He fought the urge to slam the door in the man's face.
"Actually, you could stand there forever...it's not like you'd ever die." Damon said, is tone stale, he didn't have time for Klaus' theatrics.
The man let out a deep chuckle, his dimples poking into his cheeks adding to his youthful look. Stefan stepped forward, not too fast, but just enough to be eye to eye. "What do you want Klaus?" Stefan asked, cutting right to the point.
"Hmm, good question... I want to make hybrid werewolves in peace, I want my younger sister to stop nagging me every two seconds, I want to win another Nobel peace prize, a Mercedes Benz, my own personal chef, world domination, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree." Klaus rambles on pretending to list things on his fingers, he grins at the brothers, his eyes dart towards Caroline who's cowering off to the side. The original hybrid was very aware of her, and he didn't want her to think she went unnoticed by his eyes.
"Why are you here?" Stefan tries again, he notices Damon was gripping the door, seconds away from ripping it off. None of them wanted to stand here and entertain Klaus, and his madness. However; they couldn't really ignore him either.
"Ah! That's a better question mate! I'm here to inform you of the whereabouts of your dearly beloved...Blaise Laurent." Klaus revealed to them, a audible gasp left Caroline's lips, Damon stepped forward, and Stefan was instantly there to hold his brother back. They may have been in a disagreement just then, but he wasn't going to let his only brother get himself killed.
Klaus smiled even wider enjoying his position of power right now, watching them all squeal under his thumb.
"Klaus-" Damon starts, his teeth clenched, Klaus was a bit shocked, usually the older Salvatore was so cool, calm, and collected.
"Don't you fret, Blaise is fine, not a scratch on her pretty little head. I wouldn't dare do that, I like her too much. You'll be shocked to know she came willingly. Though I didn't plan to take her by force anyway, she ran into my brother Elijah. She requested me as an audience, and she asked to see Bonnie, and I let her. In return, I would not harm her, or her cousin, if they both agreed to do the ritual to lift the curse at the next full moon. I'll see to it that they are both delivered to you safely when she's ready. The dinner I wanted with you, and Blaise is canceled obviously, it's no longer necessary...and if I were you, I would get a handle on that power of hers. If she messes up that ritual, she's as good as dead." Klaus didn't give anyone a chance to replay, the second Damon opened his mouth the original hybrid was gone.
Caroline, Damon, and Stefan looked totally exhausted. They were grateful their friends were okay, but in the hands of Klaus? Damon didn't want to take any chances, he went to go out the door, but Stefan grabbed onto him tighter.
"Damon, if Klaus wanted to kill her, he would have." Stefan said.
"And you trust him?" Damon questions his younger brother, he couldn't believe Stefan, if this was Elena Stefan would be running around like a chicken with his head cut off.
"Of course I don't trust him, but you heard what he said. This whole moon, werewolf curse thing is important to him, he needs them both alive." Stefan tried to reason, of course Damon had a counter argument.
"Okay, what if he still decides to kill them afterwards! He'll get what he wants and then use that power against us, Stefan." Damon's eyes open wide, eyebrows pulled upward in disbelief.
"What's the difference! Even without the curse lifted he's still a threat Damon! Hell he could have killed all three of us right then! He's an original, and hybrid original at that, there's no limit to his power compared to us! Don't be stupid!" Stefan was shouting, and Caroline just had to stand there, it was no use trying to stop them, they've been arguing for hours before now. She just wishes Elena was here, that would be the only other way this fight would stop.
Damon sped forward, picking up a bottle of bourbon that sat on the living room table, breaking it on the table, and stabbing it deep into Stefan's chest. Damon moves even faster when he's angry, neither Stefan nor Caroline seen that coming.
Stefan groaned in agony, blood oozing out of him, dripping on the floor. Stefan tried to get a good grip on the bottle to pull it out himself, but the blood was making it too slippery.
"Ugh, you're such an asshole." Stefan grunted in pain, each time he moved, even a little bit, sharp shooting pains would move up his chest. Damon rolled his eyes, going in a cabinet underneath a bookshelf in the living room pulling out another bottle of bourbon. As he walks past Stefan not even looking at him, Damon makes his way up stairs, he shouts back at his brother.
"You're lucky I didn't kill you just now, but hey, what difference would it make if I killed you now or later?" Damon retorted, going into Blaise's room and slamming the door closed.
Caroline sighed, walking over to Stefan. "Sit down, I'll help you." Caroline offered. Stefan let her, though he preferred Elena, he's glad she isn't here to see all of this unfold. Elena would for sure make them feel bad for arguing, when the priority should've been Blaise. Caroline worked on Stefan's injury for the next few hours, then they just chatted a bit trying to wait for Blaise to show up. Some time had passed and the next thing they know, it was 10 at night, and both Caroline was passed out on the couch. Stefan had to stay up to make sure his brother didn't do anything stupid. Stefan hoped Blaise would turn up soon, or next time Damon would flip the house upside down.
Some time around 2 am, Blaise came through the door of the Salvatore home. She was completely fine, not a scratch on her like Klause promised. She looked clam, but tired. Stefan looked up from what he was writing at his desk in the living room. He gave her a light smile, he too was tired, he's relieved he can finally go to bed.
"Shouldn't you be in bed, old man?" Blaise asked, she walked over to where the younger Salvatore was sitting and leaned back in his seat. His arms crossed over his chest, a thoughtful look on his face.
"I had to stay awake to make sure Damon didn't do anything chaotic." He said, flashes of earlier and the way he stabbed him with that crystal glass flickers in his mind. A phantom pain in the area of the injury, Stefan's face twisted lightly into a pained expression, unconsciously placing his hand over the area.
Blaise was going to ask what happened, but she figured it wasn't worth the conversation. She sighed out loud, her new hearing allowed her to hear Damon's very faint heartbeat upstairs. "That bad huh? Sorry about that, I was going to call...but I just didn't. Where's Caroline?" Blaise tried to explain herself, though Stefan understood her pretty well. He learned a lot about Blaise through Elena, he reminded himself to call her tomorrow morning when she woke up.
"She left a while ago, something about planning for Miss.Mystic Falls. Though it's not her you should be worrying about right now, not when Damon is upstairs sulking in Bourbon." I rolled my eyes, that's my baby, looks like he'll kill you, but is actually a cinnamon roll. I don't say anything else, I just trudge up the stairs, knowing he can already hear me.
When I make it to my door, I take a deep breath in, exhaling as I push the door open. Damon is sitting on my bed facing the giant window looking out at the moon. The bottle of Alcohol on the floor, a twisted look on his face, from this angle I couldn't see his eye. I couldn't tell what he was feeling.
"You could have at least called, and told me you were okay." Damon said his voice soft and full of worry, I instantly felt guilty for leaving him in the dark. The fact that I could have been dead, because I know that was the first thing he thought of when Klaus delivered the news.
"I'm sorry...I saw my opportunity, and I couldn't miss it. I haven't seen Bonnie in so long, and I'm going through this crazy change. I'm a vampire and a witch that feeds off other vampires, I just needed to see her. To talk to someone who is going to side with logic, and not my emotions." I try to explain, though the more I talked the worse I felt, he really wasn't making this easy. If I'm being honest, I didn't sound as genuine as I felt, I really didn't feel like talking right now. I still felt like a piece of shit for attacking Caroline.
Suddenly Damon was standing in front of me, cupping my face with both his hands. I couldn't look anywhere else, I was forced to look into his icy gaze, his eyebrows pulled upwards. Looking at him up close like this I realize just how beautiful he is, and the fact, his hair has grown quite a lot. His Italian features are strong, I didn't notice but now I see how I was so drawn to him, even knowing back then he could kill me without having to blink. All the stories everyone has told me about Damon, and his impulsive, careless behavior. I ignored it because he was so beautiful, and he treated me with so much love. After years in a bill shit ass relationship where I was made to feel worthless, I don't care if Damon killed a thousand people. He tucks that all away for me, he's not the same person with me, that he is with everyone else.
"You, my bella spina(beautiful thorn),are sometimes too much for me. It's worth it, and I don't think you understand why just yet. That's fine...let's just go to bed for now, is that fine with you? Damon asked, he was still holding on to my face.
"Yes..." All I could say, the only thing I had strength left to do, was tie up my hair, pull off my lashes and strip off my clothes. Damon pulled off his jacket, jumped out of his jeans, and pulled off his shirt. He tugged the black tee over my dead gently, even though it barely covered my butt, it was the thought that counts. The last thing I remembered before I fell asleep was his soft cold lips pressing to my forehead.
A/N: Above is a picture of how Blaise hair looks for right now. And omg even though he didn't say anything I feel like Damon is so mad at her. And we know Damon can hold a grudge.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
