Both Icarus and Mia arrived to the duel, witnessing Yugi using mirror force to destroy all of weevil's monsters.

"I'll stay back here, I see no reason to get closer" Icarus said in a mild annoyed voice

Mai huffed but respected the hooded duelist wishes "all right fine, but you'll miss out"

Climbing up a tree, Icarus sat on one of the low branches. Waving mai off

"Miss out my ass, Yugi will win"

"What, but he's just a brat-"

Mai started off but was cut off by Icarus

"So is weevil but you don't see me complaining"

Rolling her eyes Mia walked closer to the duel.

Joey, Tristan, and Téa congratulate Yugi on wiping out all of Weevil's monsters. Then Mai shows up, alittle bit away from Téa

"He doesn't have a change anginst a regional champion" Mia spoke up, the words of Icarus still lingering in her mind 'she's probably joking'

"Weevil's got moves that the little shrimp couldn't even dream of"

Téa's gets pretty steamed about the comment, thinking she's not going to let Mai trash her friends,

"Well nobody asked you, so why don't you just take a hike?"

Mai takes it in stride, pushing past Téa "well i for one can't miss the chance to watch a champion like Weevil turn this around".

Joey agrees—"Weevil really came from behind to win the regionals"

Tristan nods along "Weevil's tough and sneaky"

Téa get angrier, doing about face yelling at her friends "Hey!! Who's side are you on!!"

But Joey tries to calm down Téa and actually said someing smart "this is Yugi's first official duel, and he's fighting a champ" he reasoned with the girl

Mai chuckles smirking at téa,

Pouting Téa thinks 'Yugi will show her'

Back at the tree, Icarus sighed "Well looks like those two won't get along" shaking her head, her focus was back to the duel at hand

Laughing weevil spoke up "well Yugi, i still has plenty of tricks up my sleeve".

"you been doing a lot of buzzing throughout the duel, but im still waiting for the sting" Yugi responded, not a bad comeback.

Weevil says that since Yugi's new to this tournament thing, he'll make things easy for him.

He picks a card "this little bug won't stand a chance against your powerful monsters, so ill play it in defense"

Yugi won't bite, knowing Weevil's got a trap card waiting that can destroy his monsters as soon as they attack. Instead, Yugi plays the magic card, Monster Recovery, which recalls all his monsters to his deck.

He draws a new hand, then summons Kuriboh and attacks with it, knowing he won't lose much when the weak monster is destroyed. Weevil's trap, Parasite Worm, is activated, destroying Kuriboh, and lowering Yugi's life points to .

Yugi smiles "trap cards only work when they catch you by surprise, so try not give your plan away next time"

But Weevil laughs "I don't give a bee's behind about that stupid trap! It was only a trick to get you to recall your monsters, so i could safely play Larvae Moth!!" , which he flips up into attack mode. The Larvae Moth is weak by itself, but then Weevil plays the Cocoon of Evolution , which he equips onto the Larvae Moth.

Everyone watches in disgust as the Larvae Moth squelches around, becoming encased in the cocoon.

Mai then thinks "i told these chumps Weevil would turn this duel around."

Weevil's voice cuts though the air

"In five turns, my Larvae Moth will undergo a startling transformation, becoming the Ultimate Great Moth!" He boasted

Yugi was not pleased as he was outsmarted "I'll crack the Cocoon before that happens"

But Weevil points out that the Cocoon of Evolution gains a field power bonus from the wilderness, raising its defense to . In just five turns, his Great Moth will fully evolve and finish Yugi off.

Meanwhile, Icarus notices someone flagging her down. Hoping off the tree she walked up to the duelist.

"May I help you?" She asked out of curiosity and slight annoyances, after all she was watching a duel

"Look, I don't care about the duel over there. I want to duel you, right here, right now!!" The male unimportant duelist yelled

Smirking her blue cool glasses gave off a shine. Noticing he has 4 star chips already

"How about this, all or nothing. If I win then I get your 4 star chips...but if you win then you get my 2"

The unimportant male duelist thought for a moment, to him, Icarus seems like an easy win but her confidence made him rethink. Realising he can't turn down a duel, he agreed.

"Very well then, let's go...i picked out our field"

The male unimportant duelist lead Icarus a bit away from the Yugi vs Weevil duel.

'This is an easy win, the rules are much different here then in my world. And works to my advantage!!' Icarus thought while giggling to herself.

Back at the important duel

Yugi starts to weaver "I'd better act fast, and find a way to break open that cocoon now. Do i have a card that's strong enough to stop it?"

He plays and attacks, but it's too weak to destroy the Cocoon of Evolution, and Yugi's life points go down to .

"That's one turn down" Weevil mocks.

Yugi knows that Weevil's Cocoon will be tough to crack.

Joey then yells at Yugi to hang tough, but that only causes Mai to laugh "all that stupid cheerleading you're doing makes it sound like Yugi still has a chance"

Steaming, Téa turned to the large breasted blonde "of course he still has a chance!"

Joey holds Téa back "Hey, don't listen to her"

But Mai scoffs saying that every duelist who's ever gone up against Weevil's Cocoon has been totally trashed.

Téa protests, "Yugi's got his friends like us to help him beat it".

Mai sighs thinking that he'll need a whole lot more than these losers. Then once again Icarus's words entered her mind. "No way, Yugi can't win" turning her head back mai looked around, only to find Icarus gone "huh? Where did she-?" She mumbled to herself, turning back towards the duel and decided to find Icarus later.

Speaking of our hooded duelist, she wore a proud and Victorious smirk on her face.

"N-no, how....how did you beat me so fast" the male unimportant duelist yelled

Not minding his anger, she claimed her reward. Collecting his 4 star chips and putting them on her glove that's 6 down and 4 more to go.

"Simple really, you just suck at the game. Maybe graduate from rookie level before challenging me again"

Icaurs then turned to walk away but was stopped. The male unimportant duelist she had just defeated was now holding on her wrist tightly.

"Ow! Hey!" She yelped, trying to pry his hand off.

"Please, another duel, if you don't have star chips the guards drag out to a boat and make you row the way back" fear were in his grey eyes.

Blushing, Icarus didn't really notice how cute the boy was. Jet black hair and grey eyes. Also a sharp jawline, semi large muscular body.

"Ok, ok...here...i-ill give you 2....ok" she couldn't help but trip over her words a bit. Taking 2 star chips she handed them over to him

"Thank you, I'll get 10 star chips and meet you in the finals. Again thanks so much for your kindness"

Hugging her, Icarus's blush just got worse. So much for her cool and mysterious attitude.

"The n-name is Icarus, just don't tell anyone...ok"

He smiled kindly at her "yes, and my name is Xander...nice to meet you. And once again, thank you"

With that said, the once unimportant male duelist now isn't unimportant anymore.

They parted ways, Xander going off some place with new found determination while Icarus made her way back towards the Yugi vs Weevil duel. Her heart fluttering a bit

"This is not good, there's now way i....forget about it. I'll most likely never see him again after this event"

Back to the duel:

Yugi knows he has to come up with something quick, or he'll not only lose the duel, he'll lose his only chance to save his Grandpa. He has to win!

Weevil draws, telling Yugi he only has four more turns before the Great Moth emerges.

Yugi draws and plays it face down in defense, thinking he'd better prepare a defense in case he really can't stop that thing.

Weevil draws, saying nothing will save Yugi once his moth is out.

Then Yugi draws again, thinking he has to find a way to turn this duel around. There must be some way to pop that thing open!

Téa tells Yugi to hang in there, and Joey says Yugi has to win for his Grandpa. Yugi says he knows, and Joey tells him he's got to get fired up! Yugi suddenly gets an idea.

About this time Icarus as made it Back to the duel. Reclaiming her spot back on the tree. Surprising she can even get on a tree with the short dress she's wearing

Mai is disdainful of their cheering, telling them they're only distracting Yugi from the game.

Téa asks how Mai would know—she'd bet no one's ever cared enough to cheer Mai on. Mai says friends haven't helped Yugi any—he's losing. But Mai is startled when Yugi gives his pals a thumbs-up, and Téa makes faces at Mai, saying that from the look on Yugi's face, his friends just did help him. So there.

Yugi summons , and then combines it with the magic card, , and attacks. But his attack isn't against the Cocoon—Curse of Dragon's flames destroy the forest, eliminating Weevil's field power bonus, and reducing the Cocoon of Evolution's defense points back to its original 2000. Now Yugi can attack and destroy it with Gaia the Fierce Knight.

The gang cheer. But Weevil laughs, and they hear sounds from the Cocoon. Everyone watches in astonishment as a creature emerges. Joey realizes that it must have evolved enough to survive.

Mai smiled "I told you Weevil was good".

Icarus on the other hand was not impressed, come on that's considered cheating where she comes from.

Weevil says Yugi wasn't able to stop the evolution of Weevil's ultimate insect, the ! Even though Yugi stopped its evolution one turn early, the Great Moth is still strong enough to beat him.

Mai thinks the gang's not cheering now—Weevil's creature is unbeatable. They can chatter from the sidelines all they want, but it won't help Yugi one bit.

Yugi sighed 'Weevil turned the duel around one more time—but I'm not giving up yet'. He tells Weevil he'll find a way to squash that oversized bug.

'You tell him atem, win this duel!!' Icarus cheered in her head.

Weevil orders his Great Moth to take flight, thinking that Yugi's dragon is no match for the Moth, and none of Yugi's land monsters can attack it in the air. Which one should he destroy first?

Laughing weevil spoke "it's high time your Knight pays for demolishing my Cocoon!!"

Yugi thinks, his Knight is the heart of his attack force! He can't afford to lose him. Weevil prepares to attack, and Yugi plays a magic card.

Icarus's eyes twitched, "That's an illegal move—you can't play a magic card from your hand during your opponent's turn unless it's a quick play card. And that's no quick play" she muttered as she watched the King of games? HA!! More like King of Cheats!!

Weevil attacks and destroys Yugi's face-down Beaver Warrior. The Great Moth's attack continues, enveloping Gaia the Fierce Knight in its vapors. Weevil tells Yugi his Knight will be totally blown away!

Yugi smiles, holding up the Polymerization (Fusion) card, and telling Weevil he was so busy fawning over his Moth, he didn't notice that Yugi played it.

"It doesn't work like that, only super polymerization can do that" icarus said to herself, bet you if she tried to do that she'll get kick out of the tournament

Yugi explains that if he has two compatible monsters on the field, he can use Polymerization to fuse them into one ultimate creature. has joined with to create Gaia the Dragon Champion.

Don't worry about icarus, she's just very upset and we dont need to cut to her.

Its attack is 2600, the same as the Great Moth. But Weevil tells Yugi to look again—the Dragon Knight is losing attack points.

Weevil explains that the Great Moth's attack has left poison particles in the air which erode the Dragon Knight's attack.

ugi watches as his Dragon Knight's attack decreases, knowing he's in trouble, and there's nothing in his hand that can help him. But he knows his Grandpa's deck won't let him down. He draws the magic card, and uses it to wash the poison away.

He saved his Knight, Yugi thinks, but that's not all he did.

eevil attacks with the Great Moth and destroys the weakened Dragon Knight, lowering Yugi's life points to 50. It looks bad, but Joey tells Yugi to keep fighting.

Mai says they're all delusional, but Téa says Joey's right. Yugi never gives up, and they never give up on Yugi.

Mai wasn't impressed "he just lost his best monster combo, and he's down to 50 life points—he can't win, so you might as well stop yapping".

Téa tells her to get lost, but Joey tells Téa to just ignore her—Yugi's in trouble. But what can they do?

Icarus wasn't too pleased with Tea's attitude towards Mai. She's supposed to be all about friendship.

Téa says "i wishes we could trade Mai for life points"

But Mai ignore her comments "i told you all along Yugi never had a chance of winning. He wastes too much listening to you losers, while Weevil keeps his mind on the game".

Tristan asks, then why didn't Weevil see this coming?

Yugi's smiling! The gang all watch in astonishment as Yugi begins to laugh

"Ill win because i plays with honor, and that makes all the difference" .

He plays ), telling Weevil that his Moth won't withstand his next attack.

Weevil thinks Yugi's losing it. Summoned Skull is strong, but the Great Moth is still stronger. But Yugi points out that his Magical Mist is still dampening the field, and the Great Moth is soaked, while Summoned Skull attacks with electricity. The water boosts Summoned Skull's attack by 1000 points, raising it to 3500. Yugi attacks, and the Great Moth is destroyed, wiping out the rest of Weevil's life points.

The gang cheer Yugi's win, while Mai stands with her mouth open. "Impressive", she says. She didn't think Yugi could ever beat Weevil.

Yugi stands over a sniveling Weevil, telling him he won his duels by lying and cheating, but a true champion plays with honor. He takes Weevil's Star Chips, and Joey relieves him of his dueling glove.

Yugi has three Star Chips now. But he still needs seven more to gain entry into the castle, where his grandfather is being held prisoner, and he'll battle Pegasus once and for all!

Hoping down from the tree, icarus ran towards mai as soon as yugi and the gang were out of sight

"Called it~" she yelled while stopping in front of mai.

"Oh please, you just got lucky" mai pouted.

Chuckling icarus looked towards Weevil, she felt bad for him. In her world, no one really likes him...hes just the bug guy.

With a heavy sigh she walked towards him, holding her hand out "get up! Regional championships dont cry"

Sniffing he glared at her but took her hand, hoisting himself up. Weevil didn't say a word to her, he just had a sadden expression as he walked away.

"It was a fantastic duel Weevil!!! I learned so much from you, dont be sad" her gentle side was coming out. Weevil is a good duelist, he followed all the rules.

Turning back weevil looked at our hooded duelist, a small smile on his face. With that he walked out of sight

"That was oddly nice of you" mai said behind her.

"Its the right thing to do, everyone hates losing. You understand right"

Mai didn't say anything, but she did notice that icarus has 4 star chips "when did she?"

"Well let's go Mai, we have lots of duelist to defeat"

The girl smiled at each other before walking off into the distance. Both learning from the experience, Mai understanding how good if an opponent yugi is. While icarus saw first hand all the asspulls yugi did just to win.

This is gonna be a hard season for her. Hopefully she can get thought this without losing her soul.
