《Tippy's Notebook》Vampire 101

My name is Nikola, I'm in charge of educating all of you ignorant humans about the ways of Vampires. If you have any questions, keep them to yourselves, I don't want to hear them.

My knowledge of Vampires goes a little above the cheap shit they teach in the pack, my mom is overly friendly with a shitload of them, you pick up on stuff.

I'll be sharing them so shut up and pay attention, this is Vampire 101.

The Species

Vampires are one of the later supernatural species to have made an appearance, they are not one of the natural breeds like witches, werewolves or elves. Vampires were created in the eleventh century by some bored witches who decided they were scientists, despite the lack of diplomas. In a ceremony that's details are hidden to the world today, the first vampire was made.

The species have spread ever since, only a couple hundred made by the same process before the species discovered their bite. Sink two, shiny fangs into a dumb human and voila, there's another one of the filthy bloodsuckers.

There are male and female vampires, they can procreate unless the breeding pair includes one of the first few which were made, not bitten.

Vampires rank as the fourth strongest supernatural species, coming in right beneath witches themselves. They're annoyingly fast which makes no sense, they should die from crashing into things but they don't. They're the same speed as a shifted wolf, better if the space is full of obstacles, but if open then the wolf wins every time. They're strong too but no more than a grown wolf.

Contrary to popular belief, Vampires are not dead. Their hearts simply stop beating, the magic rippling through their veins keeping them alive and functioning (to an extent). They operate as a human, the same rubbish diet, except they require blood to keep the magic working, as it was the major component to the original ceremony cast. Their bodies are in a frozen state of sorts which is often misinterpreted as dead, though it is very similar.

Vampires don't age by choice, the counterfeit zombies stay alive once they keep pumping others' blood down their throats. The freaks get away with it too, claiming they need it to survive. They don't. They need it to keep living if they ate normal food they'd age like all the other humans. The cost of immortality I suppose.

Finally, vampires' most notable ability is their bite. The bite holds many different intricate possibilities, all determined by the intent of the owner.

Lifestyle

Vampires lifestyle is the most denounced throughout the supernatural world, I don't really mind it. They all thrive off of positions of power and control, thus feeding into their needs for domination over others. This quickly led the way to a Master and Slave lifestyle.

The lifestyle has remained through the generations, beginning shortly after The First, a commemorated date amongst the species when they broke from their roles as tools. It bled its way through the years, even to today, despite the new aggression which all other races harbored against possessing another individual.

With that, vampires kept their private affairs very private. They got their slaves from their favorite blood bags or lesser vampires, taking on the position of Master themselves, an ingrained need to deny the role they were originally constructed for.

It was generally frowned up, yet no species tried to dismantle it, they'd done so numerous times but the lifestyle was like a vital organ to a body. It couldn't be wiped out with discarding the entire species, which had proven impossible.

Most vampires choose to live alone, content with sticking with and hidden amongst humans. A perfect way to keep living life while having access to their immortality juice.

Those who do choose to stick together usually form a clan which brings their strength us to the elves. A clan can be troublesome, bothersome and frankly, threatening. A clan requires vampires to be selfless, their greatest weakness being their greed and egotistical traits and thus goes against their nature. But if they can conform, then that makes them a threat to be noticed and respected throughout the supernatural realms.

Clans are few in number.

Ranks

If a clan does appear, the ranking system is very clear and not nearly as complicated as werewolves. There were two types of members; Pylen and Followers.

Pylen

The alpha of a clan, the one in charge who's will was not questioned or challenged. They control pretty much everything the clan does or doesn't, which makes them a force to be reckoned with if they can control a group of their own.

They are often chosen by a sector of vampires willing to follow and assume the position. Chosen due to a notable act or position regarding the rest of the species.

Followers

The followers, much like their name suggested, followed. They listened to their Pylen and lived according to their Pylen's rules. It was nothing near to the Master, Slave relationship as followers had slaves of their own. They lived their life quite freely actually, just within the confines of their Plyen's wishes.

The Bite

There were four main types of bites which could be administered by any type of vampire - The Arc, The Revision, The Pair and The Will. All the others can be explained in Vampire 102 I guess, I won't be doing that one.

The Arc

The Arc was the bite used to turn humans into vampires. It could be administered to any human - race, gender, size, disability - none of it matter when turning. The ease of spreading the species is what made the species such pests.

The only ones who couldn't take the bite were every other species.

The Revision

The Revision was a bite used to administer healing to other vampires. It was selective in terms of recipients that way. It could basically bring a vampire back from the edge of anything, anything except death itself. The Revision was rarely used amongst vampires as the species were more of the loner variety. But when in a clan, it was easily distributed, especially by one's Plyen.

The Pair

This bite was a vampire's version of a mate-pair. The bite could be administered to any other species, from human to warlocks, it didn't matter. The bite was given from vampires whenever they assumed to have found their 'mates', for lack of a better word.

Once given, there was no bond breaking or running, the pair were stuck together for life. This made the bite something that was scarcely used.

The bite would link the vampire's life to their pair mate. They would no longer seek blood from humans, but from their pair mate. They would also die the moment their pair mate did. They couldn't be separated for long periods of times and lived to please their pair mate in any fashion.

That last fact a touchy concept for vampires making it something they stayed clear from.

The Will

The Will allowed vampires to have control over any others species for a limited timeframe, the length determined by the strength of the species. For humans, it was easily the longest as they were the weakest. For witches, it was the shortest as the magic administered in the bite was the magic running through their veins.

It was also basically useless on any supernatural creature with a brain, none stupid enough to let a vampire get that close to them.

This doesn't require much detail:

They like to play neutral, but vampires never forget.

It's not werewolf blood their drinking, so meh

Elves hate everyone but themselves so that's no surprise

Vampires thought of them as a nice snack

I'm done. Now give me that picture of Hagen you promised.
