《Twice Bitten ✔》Chapter 2

I giggled alongside Leila and Emmett. We had spent the entire day goofing off, and I honestly don't regret it one bit.
Leila sighed. "I wish we could go on like this forever. Why does summer have to end?"
Emmett chuckled. "You act like we won't be doing the same things once school starts."
"Exactly, you're so dramatic, hoe."
Leila laughed and stuck her tongue out at Emmett and me.
"Well, yeah, but now we can't have super late nights where we binge Netflix shows."
Leila scrunched her face up. "Plus I'll have to take Spanish II."
I snorted, "Why didn't you just switch out?"
"Because it looks good on transcripts."
I chortled. "Not if you completely fail it."
Leila huffed and pouted.
"You know, I always thought it was sad that you've spent almost all seventeen years of your life hanging around Vanessa and her family and you still don't know a lick of Spanish. Didn't you ever think to learn?"
I snorted again. "Nope, she's never even asked me. I just always get used as her google translator."
Leila crossed her arms childishly. "That's because I thought you would be a bad teacher."
I gasped. "Bite your tongue, heathen! I am a wonderful tutor."
Emmett laughed. "That was definitely the worst excuse you could have made. Vanessa literally gets paid for tutoring."
"Damn, you right. Okay, fine. I just never thought to learn. Plus Vanessa isn't going anywhere. When she agreed to be my best friend that shit was for life. Why learn when I have my own personal translator?" Leila shrugged.
"I knew it!" I exclaimed.
I sniffed. "I feel so used."
Emmett wrapped his arms around me and looked down at me lovingly. "What am I gonna do with you, two drama queens?"
I shrugged and smirked. "I can think of a few things."
Leila chuckled and stood up. "There's my cue to leave."
"Huh, why do you have to leave?" I asked.
"Because you guys got them 'fuck me' eyes going on. I'm not staying to watch you guys get lovey-dovey."
Emmet and I burst into laughter before saying our goodbyes.
"Well, what should we do now?" I asked Emmett.
"You should sit your ass down on my lap and show me some love."
I giggled. "Yes, sir."
I honestly don't know how long we spent kissing and touching each other. When we finally came up for air, I sighed.
"Leila might be right."
"About?"
"Once school starts I won't be able to spend all day in your arms like this."
Emmett hummed and kissed me slowly. "That just means we'll have to sneak mini make-out sessions in throughout the day. Won't that be fun? Finding new places in the school to steal a few kisses?"
"I can certainly see the appeal."
Emmett sat up and tucked a strand of hair behind my hair.

"I can practically see the cogs turning in that pretty head of yours. What are you thinking about?"
"I wanna do something fun before we start school."
"Like?"
I hummed. "I don't know, but I'll figure it out."
"You always do."
The next day I called Leila over so she could help me plan something.
"So what exactly are we doing?" Leila said as she plopped onto my bed.
"I don't know yet. That's why you're here. I just know that I want to have fun all day before we have to do work all day."
"Okay, so who do you plan on inviting?"
"I don't want it to get too crazy. I was just thinking you, me, Emmett, Michael, and Trevor. We should also call Jesse. Emmett said something about his parents stressing him out. This could be a nice break from him."
I smiled when I saw Leila blush.
"I'll get on that right away. So, what exactly were you thinking?"
"We could go to the mall, the movies, and maybe grab some dessert."
"Sounds good to me."
Once we had figured things out, I created a group chat to let everyone know our plans. Emmett said that he would borrow his mom's van so we could all ride in one car. When Emmett came to pick me up the next day, I greeted him with a kiss.
"I missed you," I said, looking up at him.
Emmett chuckled and kissed me again. "I missed you too."
After we picked everyone up Emmett asked us what mall we wanted to go to.
Leila gasped, "Let's go to the new mall that just opened! I heard that it's huge."
I cocked my head to the side. "I didn't even know they were constructing a new mall."
"I heard my little sister talking about it, but I tend to tune her out when she talks so..." Jesse said shrugging.
"Have you guy's been living under a rock?! They've been hyping this mall up for a while. It's supposed to put all of the other malls to shame."
I shrugged. "I honestly haven't heard of it. What's it called?'
"MainLevel. I think they're supposed to have five floors."
"Oh, I vaguely remember it now. I didn't pay much attention to the ads, though. " Michael said.
Trevor turned towards Leila. "Isn't five floors a bit excessive?"
Leila shrugged. "I've heard it's pretty cool."
"Let's go check it out then," Emmett said, putting it in the GPS.
"Holy shit!" I exclaimed as we pulled up to the mall.
"That's huge," Michael said, sticking his head out of the window.
Emmett groaned. "Finding parking is gonna suck."
We were overly lucky in finding a parking place and used an elevator to enter the malls' first floor.
"Woah." Leila breathed out.
The mall looked just as huge on the inside as it did on the outside. Everything inside was new, polished, and grand. If I was honest, it was kind of breathtaking.

Trevor whistled. "How much money do you think went into this?"
"Probably thousands, maybe even more," Michael replied.
"So where do we go from here?" Leila asked.
I pointed towards a huge screen. "That looks like it could be a directory. Let's go check it out."
When we walked up to the screen, I touched it and startled when a happy tune.
Hi. Welcome to MainLevel! We're glad you've decided to indulge yourself in our services today.
"That's pretty advanced machinery," Trevor said.
"Pretty sure that's how everything is in here," Emmett said, looking around.
The screen changed, and we were shown a layout of the mall
This is a map of the mall. You are currently located on the first floor. These are the other four floors available to you as well as the elevator, escalators, and stairs that you may use to traverse through our facility. Did you have a specific store you wish to go to?
A mic appeared on the screen, and I tapped it gently.
"Where is the food court?"
The food court is located on the third floor. This entire floor is utilized as the food court with a multitude of restaurants available for your pleasure.
Michael tapped the mic on the screen. "There was supposed to be a theater built into the mall. Where is that?"
The fifth floor is where you can locate the theater.
Leila bounced up and down and tapped the mic.
"Where is Forever 21 and Rue21?"
The screen changed and showed the layout of the second floor.
They would both be located on the second floor. These are their general locations.
Emmett tapped on the mic. "Is there an arcade?"
A layout of the fourth floor popped up on the screen.
Yes. There is an arcade as well as our own personal escape room.
"Sweet!"
"Was there something that you wanted to check out?" Leila asked Jesse.
He smiled and looked down at her. "Nah, I'm just along for the ride."
Leila returned his smile before grabbing my hand and bounding towards the elevator.
"Let's go!"
I giggled and followed after her. We shopped for a good while before I called it quits and plopped down next to Emmett.
Emmett laughed, "You've had enough already?"
I rubbed my stomach. "Yeah, I'm pretty hungry right now."
"I'm so glad you said something because I'm honestly starving," Jesse said rubbing his belly
Trevor and Michael walked up to us excitedly.
"We're gonna head upstairs and check out the arcade. Wanna come with?" Michael asked
Emmett answered for us. "Nah, Vanessa's hungry. I gotta feed my baby."
"I mean it's not like I didn't just say I was hungry too or anything," Jesse huffed.
Emmett chuckled. "Sorry, Vanessa and Jesse are hungry. I have to go feed my babies."
Emmett and I laughed at his satisfied grin. Jesse was such a goofball.
Trevor smiled and shook his head. "Okay, we'll catch up with you guy's in a bit."
Emmett and I waited for Leila to finish up before making our way to the food court.
"Oh, My. God. There are so many choices." Leila said in awe.
And she was right. The number of restaurants that they had on this single floor was kinda crazy.
Emmett looked down at me. "What do you want?"
I looked around. "I honestly don't' know there are way too many options."
Leila gasped.
"What?" I asked.
"They have an In-N-Out."
I looked up at Emmett. "Want to go?"
Emmett shrugged. "Whatever you want, babe."
We ended up going to In-N-Out, and eventually, the boys met up with us and got their own food.
"So, what's next?"
"What's playing at the theater?"
"Uhh, I don't know. Lemme check" Trevor whipped out his phone.
"Anything good?"
"They're playing a bunch of older movies. The only one that I haven't seen that looks kinda good is Super 8. Anyone heard of it?"
None of us had heard of it, so we decided to go and watch it. We use the elevator to access the theaters and pay for our tickets.
"I'm going to the concession stand. Did anyone want anything?" Michael asked.
"Me! I'll go with you." I said, racing to his side.
When we got to the line, Michael chuckled.
"What are you so excited to buy?"
"I really want some pretzel bites and a blue raspberry slushie."
"That's so specific."
I shrugged, "It's my go-to whenever I go to the movies."
When we had finally ordered our snacks, we met up with the rest of the group and found our seats. I held hands with Emmett as we sat down. When I went to take a sip of my slushie, Emmett sneakily stole a pretzel bite.
"Hey!" I whispered.
Emmett smiled and pecked my cheek before turning his attention back to the movie. I pouted and returned to my drink.
"Okay, I was pleasantly surprised. I honestly thought I was going to be disappointed." Emmett said as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. I definitely agreed. Considering the fact that none of us had heard about the movie previously. It was still a pretty enjoyable watch. I turned to the rest of the group.
"So how was a day of fun?"
Trevor and Michael smiled.
"It was pretty cool to hang out like this. Thanks for inviting us out."
I returned the smile. "No problem. We'll have to do it more, right?" I said nudging Emmett.
Emmett grinned and kissed my forehead. "Definitely."I giggled alongside Leila and Emmett. We had spent the entire day goofing off, and I honestly don't regret it one bit.
"What about you? Did you have fun?" I heard Leila ask Jesse.
Jesse chuckled. "I got to spend the day with you, didn't I?"
I didn't need to turn around to know that Leila was sporting a pretty deep blush right now. I wanted this feeling to last. I wonder how things would have turned out if it had...
