Y/N was making his way to the police station as he was being careful not to get bitten by zombies on the way. He wasn't going to bother wasting ammo knowing he's going need it for the police station. He found and took the ally way he saw in the game.
Y/N: "This is not how I wanted to started my night. All I wanted was to play Resident Evil 2."
Y/N: "In a normal way!"
As soon as he got up the stairs and out of the ally, he found the police station.
Y/N: "Finally."
He was heading towards the police station. On the way, a car door opened with a zombie coming out of it.
Y/N: "Shit!"
He luckily got out of the way as the zombie tried to grab him. He saw more zombies gathering around as he hurried to the police station gates.
Y/N opened them and got in quickly then locked it behind him. They tried to get in by pushing the gates but were unable to.
Y/N: "Hah, can't get me now!"
He sighed as he turned to the police station building.
Y/N: "Okay, now the real work begins."
He proceed further and entered the police station. He saw that no one was around as he expected. It was as he saw it from the game. The shutters were closed down and the doors had key symbols on it. There was also a statue in the middle of the room. In front of him, he noticed something he wanted to see.
Y/N: "Oh, thank god."
He saw the rectangular box where you put items in. He didn't see the typewriter where he can save. Then again, saving would be pointless for him since he's in the game. He wasn't sure if the boxes were linked either. Y/N saw some ammo and a first aid spray. He picked them both up and carried them with him.
He decided to access the laptop next to the item box. He watched what the cameras were showing then saw an officer shooting a zombie then resumed running.
Y/N: "Come on, aim for the head."
The officer stopped and looked at the camera.
Elliot: "David, Marvin, You there? I found a way out! It's in here!" He showed his note book to it. The zombie was catching up and the officer continued shooting him.
Y/N: "I better not waste anytime."
He had his pistol ready and headed for the shutter that leads to the east area. He opened the shutter with a sign that read keep out. The shutter barely opened but it was enough for him to crawl through.
The area was filled with blood as he crawled through. He had his flashlight in front of him to look for any zombies around. Luckily, there was nothing so he crawled all the way through and got back on his feet.
Y/N saw a fuse box to his left. He saw it was missing a fuse. He would have to look for it later though. He wasted no time in searching for supplies as he knew the cop needs his help. A locker was in the way so he had to move it. He had to use all his strength to move it aside as it was heavy.
Finally, he managed to set the locker up and back into place. Y/N noticed the floor was wet as he saw water all over the place. There was a bathroom door next to a barricade. He proceeded further and saw bodies on the floor.

Y/N: "Great, these zombies could get up at anytime. Better hurry."
Elliot: "OPEN UP! HURRY! OPEN THIS GODDAMN DOOR!"
Y/N: "Hold on!"
Elliot: "Please, help me!"
He quickly head for the shutter and tried to lift it up. As the shutter lift up a little, Elliot with his note book had his hand out, desperately shouting for help.
Y/N: "Quick, give me your hand!"
He reached for him and tried to pull him out. He managed to get Elliot halfway through the shutter.
Y/N: "Hurry, the other hand!"
Elliot did so as he reached Y/N's other hand as he tried to pull him out. However, Elliot screamed in pain as blood was splashing out of him.
Y/N: "NO! Dammit!"
The cop continued screaming as Y/N continued trying to get him out of there even though he's as good as dead. Eventually he pulled Elliot out of the shutter but only half of his body got through as the zombie in there tore already tore him apart.
Y/N: "Oh my god."
Elliot died from the from the blood loss. Y/N felt like he was going to puke after seeing Elliot's death.
Y/N: "(At least I got half of him out, but half doesn't really count. I feel like I can't save anyone here!)"
He looked up and as zombies were banging on the shutter. He knew they wouldn't get in so he should be okay. He decided to get the notebook Elliot had. He's going to need to get out of here.
Y/N: "I'm sorry Elliot. I tried.
He had his gun aimed at Elliot's head.
Y/N: "This is the least I can do for you."
*Bang*
He shot Elliot's head, knowing he was going to change sometime later. As soon he finished, the door he entered was being banged on. It opened as it revealed a zombie came through it.
Y/N: "Great, just what I need."
He aimed at the zombie's head and shot it. Fortunately, the head exploded as he fired a round. The zombie fell to the ground and he had to get back to the main hall. On the way out, zombies were breaking in from the windows and getting in. Y/N had to hurry before they catch up to him. Before he had to make a turned, a door opened as a few zombies exited and were slowly headed for Y/N.
Y/N: "It's like they were waiting for me! This is ridiculous!"
He fired a few rounds at the zombies in front of him with no time to aim. Y/N managed to get another head shot at one of them. The other one took a few hits and was stunned for a moment. He took this chance to run past them.
Y/N finally made back to the shutter. He had no choice but to crawl through it.
Y/N: "Just to be safe."
He glanced at the hall and saw a zombie who was still at the other end of the hall. He turned back to the shutter then quickly got down and crawled through the shutter. He had to opened it up a bit to get in. He was almost through the shutter. However, a zombie grabbed his leg and tried pulling him in.
Y/N: "Are you kidding me?! Where did you come from?! There was not one close by!"
The zombie further in the shutter. Y/N was trying to kick him away but could not shook him off.
Y/N: "No! I'm not going to die like this!"
If felt like the zombie was close to taking a chunk at him. But suddenly someone in front of Y/N pulled him away from the zombie and stepped to the shutter and use it to smash the zombie's head. Y/N looked up to who saved him.

It was the officer, Marvin who was already infected and badly injured.
Marvin: "You alright?"
Y/N: "Yeah, thank you."
Marvin: "You should be safe, for now."
He groaned in pain and clutched on his bleeding side.
Marvin: "Marvin Branagh."
Y/N: "Y/N L/N, please to meet you, Marvin."
Marvin: "Here." He offered his hand to help him up. Y/N accepted as he got back on his feet.
Y/N: "I got this from another officer. I tried to save him but..."
He handed him Elliot's notebook. Marvin took and examined it.
Marvin: "I'm sure you did what you could."
Chris and members of the BSAA entered a warehouse. Inside there was a unknown machine hooked up with multiple computers. Men were operating it as they were prepping for their captain. His partner, Jill Valentine was there waiting for him as she would like to talk to him before he uses it.
Chris: "So this is it?"
BSAA agent: "Yes sir. We're just making some last minute preparations."
Chris: "Is it set for September 29, 1998 in Raccoon City?"
BSAA agent: "Yes sir, it should take you to the police department like you requested. All you need to do is step and stay still at the center there."
Chris: "Good."
Jill: "Chris, do you really have to do this? There's another solution to this."
Chris: "That's not how I see it. We tried tracking him down for the past few years. But we've haven't located him yet. If I travel back to where he first started, I should have a better chance in catching him.
Jill: "It doesn't have to be him, why not someone else that can help you with it. It shouldn't be that hard!"
Chris: "I doubt I'll find another person like him. He's the only the one I can depend on completing our most urgent mission. I appreciate you trying to help, Jill."
She sighed knowing she won't be able to talk Chris out of this.
Jill: "Just be careful. Avoid going to Hospital, that's where I should be at. And watch out for Nemesis, he might be looking for you when you arrive.
Chris: "I can handle him."
Umber Eyes: "Captain, the time machine preparations are done. Hound Wolf will be gearing up in a few-"
Chris: "Cancel that. I'm going in alone."
Umber Eyes: "Sir?"
Chris: "This is between me and him. I can't risk taking any casualties for this mission. You'll all be needed locating Miranda."
Umber Eyes: "Understood, sir!"
Chris stepped to the center as the machine activated. It had electric sparks and was spinning around Chris. He stood still as he let the machine did it's work. It was getting faster by the minute.
Chris: "I'm coming for you, Leon."
As the machine spun fast enough, the electric sparks shocked Chris and made him disappear, having him travel to the city where it all started.
Y/N: "I'm guessing you have no idea how any of this happen do you?"
He geared himself up in an RPD outfit. Hopefully, it will be some help to him.
Marvin: "No, I don't but all you need to know is that you need to be more careful if you don't want this place to eat you alive."
Y/N: "Yeah, I know."
He got the radio on and ready for use in case he needs to answer it.
Marvin: "What are you doing here anyway? This is not the type of town you want to visit right now."
Y/N: "Me and a girl named Claire came here to look for her brother Chris. After that, we're getting out of here."
Marvin: "Chris's sister?"
Y/N: "Yeah. You know anything about him?"
Marvin: "He's on vacation. Europe, I think. He's been gone weeks ago."
Y/N: "(I knew he wasn't here. I wanted to tell her but I couldn't.)"
Y/N: "Really? Hope he's having a good time there." Knowing that Chris is investigating Umbrella there.
Marvin: "But enough about that, I got something for you."
He showed Y/N the notebook.
Marvin: "There might be a way out through this secret passageway."
Y/N took the notebook and looked at it. It was a sketching of a map that leads underground then into the parking lot that leads to an exit. There were also drawings of three slots that go in the statue in the room.
Y/N: "Good, at least we have a way out."
He turned back to Marvin who breathing heavily.
Y/N: "Will you be okay?"
Marvin: "Don't worry about me. You just find a way in getting out of here."
Y/N: "I'd rather not leave you like this but I don't got a choice. I hope you can hang in there a little longer until I get back."
Marvin: "Just focus on saving yourself and take this."
He handed Y/N a knife. He was about to take it until Marvin held it for a moment.
Marvin: "If you see one of those things, don't hesitate like I did. Take them out or run. Got it?"
Y/N nodded. Marvin kept his hand on his wound as he was in pain. He felt sympathy for him as he wish he could do something to help him but knew there was nothing he could do.
He started to head out and go for the other shutter. He went to the switch box and cut the tape that covered it up. He opened it and pressed the switch. The shutter opened and Y/N began entering the west hall.
On the way, Y/N found some more ammo and taped wooden boards. He took both of them and moved on. He entered the first hall and already, it felt horrifying. There was a body at the end of the hall. As he got closer to the body, he heard a radio coming from the body. He looked at the dead cop and saw that his neck and side of his face was slashed up.
Y/N: "Ah, why did I look at that!" He gagged.
Something hit the floor after that. He heard and turned to the next hall. There was a dead cop hanging from the ceiling. Y/N was about to proceed further cautiously but the body in front of him fell to the ground. He jumped back a little as he was startled.
Y/N was getting really nervous as he felt like something was going to jump on him but he remembered this was also part of the game. He decided to continue walking but then saw dripping at the end of the first hall. It was strange because he didn't remember seeing that before. He looked up and his eyes widened in shock.
It was a licker hanging in the ceiling slowing crawling above him.
Y/N: "What?! Th...that wasn't supposed to be in here yet."
The licker screeched as it heard him.
Y/N: "Oh, fuck!"
The licker was about to lunge at him with it's claws but Y/N rolled out of the away then quickly got up and run. The licker followed him and attempt to slash him again. He moved out of the way and was going through the narrow hall.
He ran as fast as he could to reach the end of the hall as the licker was after him. The licker jumped and tried to slash him again. Y/N barely avoided it by quickly turning right however it's claws managed to scratch Y/N's arm.
Y/N: "Aghhh!"
He held his injured arm and hurried to the double doors. Y/N quickly got in and shut the doors. He saw a chair and put it in front of the doors to help block it. The licker was trying to break through the doors. Y/N wasn't going to stand around and wait for it to happen so he went to the broken window at the other side of the room and climbed up the wooden pallets then climb up to the window and went through it. It was painful for him since he had to use injured to climb.
Once he made it to the other side. Y/N breathed heavily as he managed to survived a licker encounter. He looked at his arm and saw that it was bleeding badly. He knew had to treat this injury or it might get worse.
Y/N got out the first aid spray he found and aimed it as his arm.
Y/N: "Hope this stuff works."
He sprayed it all over his arm as the wound was starting to heal. Eventually his injury was gone and his arm was recovered. He was surprised by it's effects.
Y/N: "Wow. This is the best medicine ever made. How come no one has ever made theses?"
Y/N got back on his feet and turned and saw a zombie banging on a snack machine as it was trying to get something in there.
Y/N: "(I know how you feel. I give those things money and it still doesn't give me my snacks.)"
The zombie turned and slowly made it's way to Y/N. He had his gun aimed at it and shot the zombie's head. He proceed further and made it to a stair way that leads up to the second and third floor. He saw a zombie on the other side of the window trying to get in.
Y/N decided to set the wooden boards and used it as a barricade. He knew it wasn't going to break in anytime soon.
Y/N: "That takes care of that- Oh shit!" He turned around and saw another zombie closing in on him.
He ran for the room that was under the stairs. He quickly got in and closed the door. It was dark in here but he found a switch at the end of the room. He turned it on and the room had light. There were no bodies around and there was another item box.
Hopefully, the zombie out there won't come in this room but he gets the feeling that it's safe in here. He decided to search around for ammo and other items. After that Y/N was going to rest for a few minutes because he knows he's going to need it for whatever that happens next.

Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter.
