I watch again as they repeat the same process with my second daughter. I'm desperate to see them both. She, too, is swaddled in a blanket before both of them are brought over to me.

I don't bother holding back the tears.

They are both beautiful. The first baby has her eyes closed and is peacefully asleep. The second stares back at me with her dark brown eyes. I reach out my hand, brushing my finger against each of their cheeks.

"Would you like to hold them?"

I can't respond. I just nod. My amazing twins are placed one in each arm. Lili is standing closer to the window, tears leaking down her face, too. Nate, who is right beside me, kisses my forehead.

"You did amazing, Cecilia. They're beautiful."

I manage to let a weak, 'Thank you', escape my lips.
