___________
EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO-
A blonde sat in the eerily silent corridor of hospital clutching his phone tightly as he saw the doctors and nurses running in and out of the ICU. Pearls of tears rolled down his cheeks as he imagined what will happen if something happened to the person inside the ICU. His beautiful lips quivered as he tried hard to stay strong and not sob out, big, beautiful, innocent blue eyes looked around him helplessly as he patted his feet in anticipation. The boy was about to let the dam of his self control break and let himself cry when he saw two figures walking towards him hastily.
He immediately stood up and looked at the couple in front of him helplessly.
''How is she?'' The man in his forties asked worried while the woman hugged the boy to console him.
''She got unconscious suddenly. D-Doctors are not saying anything.'' The boy replied almost crying.
''Shh!! Its okay, Tae...we are here. She will be fine.'' The lady calmed the boy patting his back while Taehyung choked back his sobs.
''I am scared, Auntie....W-What if she left me?'' The boy asked horrified. He only had one person to call his family.
His grandmother.
And now, she was also in the ICU, fighting with death in her weak condition as she herself don't want to leave his innocent grandson alone in this cruel world.
''Don't think like that, Taehyung. You are strong... are not you?'' The man asked making Taehyung nod.
''Doctors are trying their best, son......she will be fine.'' Though the man was trying to calm Taehyung but deep somewhere, he was also scared. It had been years since Taehyung's grandmother has been suffering from cancer. The doctor had said she was in the last stage of the fatal disease and there were no chances of her surviving if the tumour bursted.
''When did she became unconscious?'' The lady asked changing the topic as she saw the atmosphere getting more tensed. Taehyung looked at her and wiped her tears.
''I don't know. When I slept last night, I remember her sleeping peacefully after I massaged her feet but when I woke up, she was lying unconscious. I called Jeon uncle before bringing her to the hospital.'' The boy told everything making the couple nod.
The lady was about to say something when a doctor came out and the three of them immediately rushed to him.
''How is she, doctor?'' Mr Jeon asked politely while Taehyung waited impatiently for the doctor to say something who seemed to be thinking very deeply about something.
''D-Doctor?'' the lady called bringing him back to reality while Taehyung clutched a little of the lady's dress tightly because he needed to hold onto something.
''We had already told you about her condition, Mr Jeon. Her condition is very critical. We are really sorry but we are afraid we will not be able to save her. She is on the ventilator right now and we somehow had managed to control the situation but we will not be able to keep her alive for long. We had tried chemotherapy as well as X-ray therapy but it didn't worked since the starting as she was too weak to handle the heavy doses as well as the high intensity rays. I am really sorry but we can't do anything now. I don't know how to say this bu-''

''Please No doctor.....Please d-do something and save my grandma, please. I b-beg you.'' The seventeen year old boy requested the doctor in his broken voice, tears not listening to him anymore while Mr Jeon patted the boy's back sympathetically.
''We are doing everything we can do, Mr Kim but your grandmother isn't responding to the treatment anymore. Its like she don't want to live further and its not her fault. You can't even imagine how much it pains to a cancer patient but she still tried her best for years but looks like she had decided to give up now.'' The doctor replied helplessly.
''We can take her to some better hospital-''
''That's a waste of time and money, Mr Jeon. I had told you before too that we have consulted all the best doctors of South Korea on your request about this case but they also said the same thing. There is no use of taking her to any other hospital.'' The doctor intruded making Mr Jeon tsk helplessly while Mrs Jeon looked at the crying boy sympathetically.
''Can we see her?'' Mr Jeon finally asked making the doctor nod.
''You can....she is not in a condition to talk properly but we can't stop you as she herself is requesting to see you one last time.'' The doctor informed and smiled weakly before walking away leaving Taehyung standing in his spot stunned.
No father.
No mother.
And now, no grandmother?
He was alone in this world. The boy couldn't even imagine what will he do now. He was just seventeen. He had lost his mother and father when he was only ten and now, at the mere age of seventeen, the only person in the name of his family was going to leave him alone to suffer in this cruel world.
''Tae?''
''Huh?'' The boy hummed still looking into the distance as his mind roamed at all the places that scared him to the core.
''We are here for you, son.'' The man tried to console the boy but it didn't affect Taehyung a bit. He knew no one in this world stands with you in your sorrows. He was not naïve. He had seen the world. The boy had experienced the worst things in this world.
He had to go out to work at the age of fourteen because his grandmother couldn't wash utensils at other's homes to make an earning because she was ill and he had to provide for their survival as well as his grandmother's treatment.
Now, he was seventeen and studying arts along with working part time job at a café to earn for the family. He never complained to God for anything. A sweet, kind hearted, innocent boy with the purest soul who would immediately stood up for helping the needy. He was happy in what he got but looked like the God above there was not yet satisfied.
He wanted to see Taehyung suffering more.
Taehyung's father was an employ at Jeon corporations. Mr Kim was so honest and dedicated that Mr Jeon was so impressed with him. When Mr Kim invited his boss to attend his wedding hesitantly, Mr Jeon had accepted the invitation with open arms and on the wedding day, when Mr Jeon's eyes fell on a beautiful girl in the party and he fell for her on the spot.
When he tried to find more about the girl, he came to know that she was Taehyung's mother's best friend and that's how Mr Jeon ended up marrying Mrs Kim's best friend.

Since then, both the families had been very close. While Mrs Kim gave birth to a boy who turned out to be a shy, cute, innocent, sweet and kind hearted boy with unbeatable beauty, Mrs Jeon gave birth to a boy who broke all the records of being spoilt. The brightness of riches made him a careless, irresponsible boy who was insensitive to anyone's feelings around him.
Mr and Mrs Jeon loved Taehyung a lot for his nature while they would curse the day when they let their son live the life in his own way.
When Mrs Kim died, she requested her best friend to always take care of his son and Mr Jeon became too emotional that he promised his late friend that he will never leave Taehyung's side.
That he will always take care of the boy.
Since that day, both Mr and Mrs Jeon had been doing everything to make everything better for Taehyung but looked like luck wasn't their side.
Cancer enveloped his grandmother in its death trap leaving the boy crying again.
''Tae...she must be waiting.'' Mrs Jeon said taking the boy out of his trance. He wiped his tears again and nodded. Before walking inside, the boy plastered a fake smile in order to not make his grandmother sad.
He was like this. He could go through anything for his loved ones but will never let them know.
The old lady was lying in the hospital bed lifelessly. The sight of his grandmother intubated as she took her last breathes made the boy tear up again but he was fast to control himself. The couple stood behind while Taehyung walked towards the bed where his grandmother was lying.
He raised his hand slowly only to hold his grandmother's weak one gently. The lady struggled to open her eyelids but when she did, she smiled at his grandson lovingly.
''T-Tae..''
''Don't talk, Halmeoni!! Just take rest.'' The boy said scolding making the lady chuckle weakly.
''You never let me speak, son....j-just let me, this time....please!!'' She requested sweetly making the boy hiccup, his tears falling like they were a stream of water. He didn't averted his eyes away from the hand in his own as he felt like he will start crying if he looked at his grandmother.
''You are very s-stubborn.'' The blonde complained pouting, eyes brimming with tears as he tried to carve the feeling of his grandmother's presence around him in his mind. He may not get the chance again.
''Tae....Thank you s-son much for taking care of me, s-son. Although, it should had b-been me who would have took your responsibilities but you became mature before age. I a-am sorry, son....I couldn't give you everything y-you deserved. I am so lucky to be y-your grandmother, Tae.....I'll tell your parents how good of a boy their son is. T-they will be so p-proud of y-'' The lady started coughing making Taehyung worried.
''Halmeoni.Please don't t-talk...Y-''
''Tae....I m-may not get the chance to speak again, son...please l-let me finish.'' The lady requested making the boy shake his head. He wanted his grandmother to just keep silent and rest but how can he stop her when he know that she didn't have much time left?
''Everything will be f-fine, Tae.....Just believe in yourself. One day, y-you will get the best. All the happiness....all the love in t-this world. I'll be seeing you from t-there and smiling l-looking at mini T-Taehyungie...'' The lady joked making the boy whine.
''Halmeoni!!''
''My time has come, son....I need to leave now. Please forgive your Halmeoni if she e-ever made you upset.'' The lady said, trying hard not to start crying. Taehyung shook his head and hiccupped.
''No, Halmeoni.you are the best halmeoni in t-this Hiccup....in this world.'' The boy cried. The lady smiled weakly and looked at the couple standing behind. Both of them smiled back and walked forward when the old lady signalled them with her hand.
''Somi. You had always l-loved Taehyung more than y-your own son. You proved to be the bestest of friend this world will ever witness a-.....cough, cough....and so did your husband. I am sure that both of you will never leave my Taehyung alone but I am d-dying.....I am leaving Taehyung alone in this world...''The lady looked at the blonde making the couple also look at the silently crying blonde sympathetically.
''I want something f-from you? Will you give this to me?'' She asked weakly making the couple look at each other confusedly before nodding.
''You don't have to ask for anything, Eomma.Just order us.'' the lady said holding the woman's hand making her smile.
''You know Taehyung is a p-pure soul. He don't know much a-about this world. He became distracted by butterflies, he can kill for strawberries.....h-he gets fascinated by bright colours.....I don't want him to get lost in the ugliness of t-this world....'' More tears came running out of the blonde's eyes as he listened to her grandmother worrying about him even on her death bed.
''After m-me, you are the only o-one I can trust with my grandson. I want you to make him your own son, Somi.will you please do that?'' The lady asked making Mrs Jeon smile confusedly.
''He is already m-my son, Eomma..what are you saying?'' She asked smiling hesitantly. The old lady smiled too and looked at Taehyung before saying her next words.
''Make him your son-in law, Somi..give peace to my soul so that I can die without any w-worry.'' The old lady said making everyone's eyes widen in shock.
''Wh-''
''I know you will always take care of him, Somi...but I want to guarantee a safe future for my grandson. Please accept my request. You will not get a better partner for your son, those are my words.'' The lady didn't let Mrs Jeon think about anything.
They knew that Taehyung will be the best life partner for their son but the thing which they feared if whether their son will able to give Taehyung what he deserves?
''I don't have m-much time, Somi, I-''
''I will make him my son-in law-Eomma. I had promised his father that I'll take care of him and if it secures his future, I'll gladly accept him as my son in law.'' Mr Jeon said making his wife look at him in horror.
''But, Jea-''
''Its decided, Somi..Jungkook will have to marry Taehyung, that too, right now.''
The three decided the blonde's faith without consulting him. The boy stood there crying for his grandmother's health, not giving any attention to what was going to happen next.
He believed in their decision.

The Drifting World
In the year 2104, a brand new VRMMO called The Drifting World is released promising realism, adventure, and freedom like no other. Follow Noah as he builds his character Chemistree, a Treant rogue, and uncovers the mysteries of a destroyed virtual world. Expect guilds, dungeons, skills, stats, and, levels as he progresses through the main story of the game and tries to uncover what secrets the game has to hide. Okay, stereotypical introduction over. This is my first time trying to release a story I've written, so feedback is welcome. The premise is nothing special, I just want to do it well. A lot of similar stories I've read make me ask "what kind of game would work like that?" Sometimes believable gameplay elements give way for a more immersive story, but I hope to make that as balanced as possible rather than going for cheap thrills. Well, I guess we will just see how this goes.

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday. Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different.
