《Call Me Cute》Chapter Ten

Dakota watched Frankie's hand hover over the make-up items and tools on the table in the center of his room.

"Okay and this?"

"An eyelash curler."

Frankie nodded in understanding, she was currently back in Dakota's room after a long day of shopping.

It was her fourth time with him.

They've been going out together for the past month training for her 'debut' as Dakota put it.

She was pretty feminine already but makeup was her biggest hurdle.

"Do you know how to apply lipstick properly?"

He asked watching her play with the lipstick, opening and closing it.

"Of course I know! But I don't like lipstick. It makes my lips feel trapped, like I can't talk freely cause I'll mess it up."

"Oh that's a normal worry, you just have to get used to it."

He replied monotonously.

Frankie glanced at him curiously.

Dakota's been funny lately.

It's almost like he's half dead.

He no longer argues with her, he's dull in his responses and he doesn't seem to get excited about much anymore.

She stared at the large sweater he wore and the cute makeup headband in the shape of frog eyes he had on his head.

He wore frilly white ankle socks and the shorts he had on was completely hidden by the large sweater.

He still had on his fake nails from their time out earlier, they were a simple baby blue color with white tips. He had removed his wig since entering his room so his short natural curly hair was on display.

His parents were once again out of town, which allowed her to even be here in the first place.

She wanted to ask if he was okay but felt for some reason she shouldn't. She wasn't sure why and she couldn't put her finger on it but asking felt forbidden.

"Well aren't you going to try it on?" He asked after he realized she was just sitting there staring into space.

"Ah! Right right."

She got up and went to the mirror and began to apply it, it was a very deep mahogany color. She liked it, glancing behind her to she saw that Dakota was watching, and that quickly made her nervous so she messed up.

She frowned watching the wobbly line she made that went over the shape of her lips.

Without a word Dakota got up and guided her back to the table, pulling some make-up removal napkins from the package and began cleaning her lips. She shivered feeling a knot form in her stomach.

She kept quiet letting him do what he needed to, an unusual silence between them.

She felt his bare fingers brush over her bottom lip once he removed the lipstick, watching as a deep look entered his eyes. She gazed at him not sure what she was looking for, maybe the answers to her questions or the Dakota she knew before.... She didn't know.

Dakota met her eyes a pained look in them. She glared getting fed up with him.

"Give me that! I can put on lipstick, no need to look so depressed about it!"

She groaned completely misunderstanding his expression. Dakota snapped out of it and turned as she came around to sit infront of him.

She pulled him towards her by his chin and opened the lipstick.

"Woah hey I don't-"

"Hush up! If you're gonna be sad at least look pretty sad right? Get it?"

Dakota chuckled at the lame joke and allowed her to do what she wanted.

She careful traced the outline of his lips, noting how his upper lip was almost as full as his bottom lip; they were soft too, the lipstick bouncing and sinking with the pressure she'd apply.

Finishing his top lip she glanced up at him to see he was staring at her.

She immediately looked back down trying not to show how that made her nervous. Recently his gaze would leave her on edge, she figured it's because she's not used to guys staring at her so intently so she didn't think about it too deeply.

Finishing; she stepped back to stare at her work, her hands still gently holding his face in place.

Lipstick really makes a difference....

Dakota's pale pink lips now popped and looked a lot fuller, not the mention the color it was very.... seductive.

Dark colors suit him.

She met his eyes again to see he was looking at her face but his eyes were a bit lower, she didn't know where he was looking per say and it didn't matter. She closed the lipstick and sat down.

That same awkward silence stretching between them.

Ugh. What's his problem?

She glared at him, but he was obviously caught up in his own head to see it.

He's so annoying.

She folded her hands and watched him basically zone out.

Oh.

She reached out to brush away a straying hair on his forehead, and hesitated as she pulled back.

She can't say for sure what spurred her on, but she soon found herself caressing the outline of his face with her fingers; her heart beating a bit faster.

She was still so fascinated by how easily she could touch him. She mindlessly traced the outline of his face, thinking nothing of it. Her sudden movements bringing Dakota's consciousness back to stare at her in shock.

She ignored him as he didn't pull away and continued; she could hear Dakota take in a sharp breath but said nothing.

She started at his brow and trailed down the length of his face to end at his cheek. She could feel her breathing coming out heavier; it felt hard to breathe.

She laid her palm flat against his cheek to caress him, taking in the details of his face as if seeing them for the first time.

she watched him snuggle into her hand while holding direct eye contact; his eyes hooded, burning with something she didn't recognize but it pulled her in, keeping her in place.

She gasped realizing she wasn't breathing and pulled her hand back, suddenly feeling tense and alien in her own body. It was almost as if she got caught up in a trance.

She stood up not sure what to say or do.

"Frankie...."

She stepped back and shock her head.

"Uh...the....uh....."

She couldn't say anything she felt tongue tied, something that's never happened to her before.

"...I-......go. I gotta go."

She mumbled more to herself than him, calmly gathering her things. Frankie could feel her hands shaking and tried not to think about it.

Dakota watched her, she looked confused and uncomfortable.

She took up her jacket and gave him a tense smile before rushing out of his room.

He felt his heart slamming against his chest, the usual tight breathless feeling consuming him. He sighed quietly and laid across the cool table, his face hot from what just happened.

"What are you doing Frankie....?"

He whispered recalling her curious childlike expression as she touched him. She didn't understand what she was even doing, he was sure of it, but that part of her.... It caused him great stress. He reached up to place his hand on his chest and closed his eyes, listening to how much Frankie affected him.

Frankie stared at her white ceiling, her back to her bed.

She pulled her hand up to stare at it, the tingling from earlier still there. She glared shaking her hand in hopes the sensation would go away.

Of course not.....

She turned on her side not wanting to think about it. She didn't know what to think really, she's never had these encounters with men before.

She sat up her mind now focusing on the subject at hand.

Could that be it?

Because she doesn't have any experiences with touching men and not hating it. This is the first ever case! Plus Dakota wasn't a typical guy, he crossdressed.

She thought back to what Cammy had said about a man not looking male could help with her condition. She nodded finally agreeing.

Yeaaah....that makes sense.

Her phone went off and she turned to see it was Dakota.

'hey you okay?' The text read.

She felt her heart skip a beat at this and ignored it. That's been happening a lot more frequently too. Wow! Who knew not hating one man would come with so many new body functions.

'A- OK.' she replied curtly.

'So when will u confess to Blondie?'

She frowned.

They have been practicing for this for weeks now, and it was really just up to her to pick a time and date. Dakota got her a really nice dress a few weeks back, it was a gift from him he said.

Her eyes instinctively travelled to a small red box in her room, remembering another gift she had. It was a gift she'd want to give Dakota.

It was for his birthday.

It was the bunny earrings he couldn't buy that time, having heard his birthday was Friday she went back to purchase it. However when the day finally came around she couldn't give it to him.

Her soul couldn't accept that she was about to give something to a male just to make him happy.

It was also very out of character for her, so she figured it was best to just not give it to him, and simply tell him Happy birthday. For some reason it left her feeling guilty.

Ignoring that; she thought about confessing to Nathan and felt her face heat up.

No use putting it off anymore.....

'how about tomorrow?'

Immediately a reply came back.

'what?? Why??'

She frowned seeing the obvious panic he had. She laughed.

Ah. He's more nervous than me.

She thought, once again misunderstanding.

'Don't worry! I'll definitely use what you taught me!'

She grinned throwing her phone to the side to go pick out her outfit for tomorrow.

Frankie's phone vibrated, indicating to another message from Dakota.

'Frankie, I have something to tell you.'
