It's Halloween. You've decided to hold a party and invite your friends over. But, when it's over and you're home alone, you find a mysterious pumpkin with a scary face right in the middle of the dining table. The air is cold and next to the pumpkin you find a piece of paper with a rhyming riddle.
You sit down to try and solve the riddle. Each time something unravels, the air becomes thicker and the atmosphere gloomier.
What happens when you finally answer the riddle?

[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon, November 2021] For the longest time, Aideen Fiachna had only one prescient wish; to be the daughter her parents could take pride in.
