We all gathered at our podiums and I glanced around the room.
Chihiro, Hina, Mukuro, Toko, Sayaka, Yasuhiro, Hifumi, Taka, Makoto.
We may have lost you, but I promise. We'll carry you with us through these trials and all the future. None of this was your fault. I can't blame the mole either, they don't have a choice either. But, to save everyone else, we have to.
I clung onto the podium as the trial started. I could feel the tension sleeping into my skin like poison. 'Let's start then, the victims were Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Makoto Naegi,' Byakuya stated. 'They were found by Y/N, shortly after the Monokuma wake up call, in the botanical gardens,'
'From the looks of things, Makoto suffered a stab to the chest and Taka was hit over the head with something,' Celeste added.
'Makoto suffered one fatal injury with a kitchen knife. Taka's murder weapon is uncounted for, but by the indents, it seemed to be something large and heavy. Something like a hammer or dumbbell for example,' I explained, trying to map out the circumstances of the murder.
'But where does that get us? They must've gotten the weapon during night, no one saw them, man,' Leon put his hand behind his head.
'All details should be discussed,' Celeste glared at him before she continued 'However, we have 3 main suspects. Leon, Mondo and Sakura,'
'What? Why is Mondo a suspect? You saw how he was when he found Taka!' Leon protested.
'Yes, I know, but, I'm afraid we cannot through away any possibility until it is disproved,' I pointed out.
'Why aren't you three suspects?' Sakura asked.
'Byakuya and Y/N spent the night together, while me and Y/N found some evidence to prove it wasn't me,' Celeste explained.
'Evidence? What is it?' She raised an eyebrow.
'Footprints. Whoever the killer was crossed over the grass that was still wet from the sprinklers, leaving muddy footprints,' I explained 'Celeste's feet are too small to fit,'
'Ah, I see,' She backed down.
'When I was investigating the bodies, I found notes on both of them,' I proceeded to read out the contents.
'The killer lured them to their deaths,' Byakuya tutted.
'Wait... how could the killer have written them?' Mondo spoke up.
'I'm glad you noticed. That's what leads me onto my next point. I believe our killer is working with the mastermind, wether they know their identity or not is unknown, but if they're working with the mastermind, They would easily be able to unbind themselves and rebind without getting 'punished',' I explained.

'We have a mole?' Celeste's eyes widened.
'Yes, I can also say Leon is not our mole. During Sayaka's murder I investigated his room to find his handwriting and compare it to the note we found there. It can be used here to also prove he didn't do it,' I smiled.
'So that leaves us with Mondo and Sakura,' Byakuya grinned.
'I should probably mention something I found odd,' I added 'I found something odd in the bushes, it was a protein shake, I think?' I shrugged.
'A protein cup, you mean?' Celeste asked.
'Yeah, that it!' I grinned 'But, I guess it belonged to the killer,'
'I always seen Sakura with a protein cup in the morning, but she didn't have one today,' Byakuya pointed out.
'I must've lost it,' She shrugged as she crossed her arms.
'Now that you mention it, you're the only person here who drinks protein cups, aren't you?' Leon frowned.
'It's probably a coincidence,' She shook her head and I looked into her eyes and I could tell she was lying. If only there was more proof against her.
'Wait, when did the murder take place?' Leon asked.
'Between 7 and 8,' Celeste asked.
'You sure?'
'Yes, the sprinklers go off at 7, neither of the bodies were wet,' I explained.
'I did get up sometime then, to get a drink, but, I saw something that I thought nothing of,' He started to talk.
'Go on,' Byakuya raised an eyebrow.
'I saw Sakura's door closing,' He explained.
'Sakura, can you explain this?' I looked at her, seeing a bead of sweat falling down her face.
'I went to get a protein shake,' She explained.
'...what?' I gasped. This was it. The proof.
'Sakura. You didn't have a protein shake today. You dropped it in the botanical gardens when you murdered Taka and Makoto!' I pointed at her.
'What?' She looked worried.
'That's a good point. What do you have to say to that, Sakura?' Celeste giggled slightly.
She was silent for a moment. 'I can see that I'm defeated. There's no rebuttal I can use to get out of this,' She sighed. 'But, I will tell you what I know before I do go,'
'Do tell,' Celeste encouraged her.
'As to the identity of the mastermind, I have no idea. But, I do know they're powerful. They have my family held hostage, to force me to work for them. My father was one of the best martial artists...' one of the best martial artists? Peko would have been most likely to be the one to go after him then.

'Sakura, I'm sorry you're family is in custody. But, when we get out, I'll try to find and free them,' I painfully smiled.
'Thank you, Y/N. Although you're a killer, you still seem to have a pure heart,' She chuckled slightly. 'But, I must ask something, to everyone,'
'What is it?' Leon asked her, looking over at Mondo who had his head to the ground, tears still falling.
'Do any of you have any idea what the Remnants are? The mastermind let something slip about them. I believe they said something along the lines of 'if you're family even tries to escape, the remnants will stop them,' She looked solemn as my heart dropped.
'No idea. But, they sound dangerous, if they're the ones guarding your family,' Celeste sighed as I stayed silent, biting my tongue.
If I say anything, Junko will just kill me right here and now. Even if it wasn't good for her game, she doesn't care. She wasn't to keep the illusion.
'That's enough chitchat! Pull the lever in front of you to vote and we'll get on with the punishment!' Monokuma laughed.
I pulled the lever down and everything went by so quickly.
Sakura stood in a field alone. But, I'm a split second Alien like figures appear from flying saucers and start to surround her. She successfully beat each one of them. She eventually came to find the Alien leader. A figure wearing a mask.
She charged at the leader, hitting the mask causing it to break into several pieces, flying everywhere. However, underneath the mask was Aoi. Sakura stood there shocked and speechless for Aoi charged forward, slicing her into two.
'We should go before it gets too much,' Celeste walked towards the lift/elevator.
'Go on without me. I have to speak with monokuma,' I excused myself but before Byakuya could speak I added 'alone,'
'Are you sure?' He asked as I looked up at him.
'Of course. I'll meet you all up there,' I leaned up, placing a kiss on his cheek. 'I'll be fine,'
'Alright. I'll see you there,' He smirked before he walked off.
I watched as the lift rose up and I turned around to face Monokuma. 'How much longer are you going to make this last?' I looked down at him.
'Are you bored already? Such a shame... just go and kill everyone and you can leave and join the rest of the despairs!' He laughed.
'No. I want them all to survive. I'll find a way to stop this,' I shook my head.
'Are you forgetting the role you played in this?' He laughed 'You're one of the remnants of despair! I had you kill multiple of the teachers and students in this school along with their beloved principal,'
'Yes... I know. I don't deserve forgiveness. The least I can do it stop you,'
'This has given me an idea for our next motive! I'll turn you back into a remnant and have you torture one of them to death!' He laughed.
'I will never kill any of them. I swear I'll stop you,'
'Go ahead and try,' the Monokuma voice switched off and I could hear Junko's voice. 'you'll fail,'
'I don't care. Anything I can do to help,' I started to walk away.
'And you were my most valuable piece... I guess the Queen is gone. But, the game isn't gone until the King is too,' She laughed.
'Izuru?'
'Of course! And the rest of your silly little class are scattered on the rest of the board,'
'What are you?' I entered the lift.
'The player, of course,' There was a hint of annoyance in her voice.
'The next time we'll meet like this, will be the last,' The lift started to ascend.
'Of course. But, I wonder what would happen if the others found out what you were?' She laughed.
'I don't care what you do,' I muttered to myself 'I'll find a way,'
I swear on my life, I'll stop you Junko.
Sakura, I'm sorry my class took your family. I'll get them out, I swear.
If only I could speak to you all again. I could know you're final wishes and honour them.

The Ancient Core: A Progression Fantasy
The title of [The Ancient One] is bestowed upon an unassuming, forgotten Core. Hidden deep underground, it lies in wait, biding its time as it learns the rules of its surroundings. Roaming beasts and unknown threats surely threaten the little rock as it sticks to the darkness, its one true refuge. This is a slow-burning Dungeon-Core fiction with a LitRPG-System. You can expect an extreme amount of kingdom-building, an more in-depth Mana-System, and a Evolution-System. Chapters are between the length of 2-4k words, though the first 50 will likely be closer to 4k. Anything after will have the average be 2.5k. I personally like explaining how things work a lot, so do have that in mind if you decide to read this fiction.
