"HOORAY!" I smiled, watching Scorpio cut his cake. He looked so happy, so at peace... and that made me feel happy. Contented. How was it that bringing a smile to someone else's face could bring one to yours, too? Scorpio slid an arm around me, looking down at me with his secret smile. That was the same secret smile that had drawn me to him. It meant everything to me to see him smile like that. Like this moment was so real, so... believable. "Hey. This is amazing, you know?" Scorpio whispered. He paused, smiling. "You're amazing." I planted a kiss on his cheek. "You are too. You deserve this."
Scorpio pulled me in closer. "Thanks, Leebs, for being there." I looked into his beautiful, blue-green eyes. "I'll always be there."
Well, if you're done, we'd all like some cake," Pisces laughed. "Oh, of course!" Scorpio was rambling. "We can all eat cake, it's so good, so yummy-" I smirked. "Wow. The big, bad 17-year-old is flustered." Cancer snorted at my statement, as did Aquarius. She'd come as Cancer's date. I definitely shipped it. "This coming from a just 16-year-old." I rolled my eyes. "Whatever..."
Scorpio laughed. "Go back to your cake, little one." He picked up his knife and fork, tucking into his slice of cake. I smiled, taking a bite of my own slice.
.....
"Thanks for coming! Thank you! Great work organising, Cancer-don't worry, I've called the cleaners." Scorpio and I stood at the steps of my place, seeing everyone off.
"Well that was the last of the guests," Scorpio noted. "Absolutely-that was a great party, am I right?" Scorpio nodded. "Although... I did get invited to another party tonight..." Scorpio stopped to look at his watch, which indicated midnight. "It's starting around now." I laughed. "You sure were. We'll go out back to the beach, swim to the deck.... Should be fun." Scorpio smirked. "Absolutely."

I took his hand, leading him out to our private beach. He looked a bit starstruck upon seeing the glittering water, the shining crests of the waves, the intensity of the moonlight at the beach. "C'mon, the deck's that way." I pulled off my dress, running into the ice-cold water with no hesitation. Scorpio hesitated before following suit. I laughed, watching his eyes go wide once he had made contact with the chilling water. "You scared?" I teased. Scorpio rolled his eyes before plunging right into the water. "You're gonna regret that..." He surfaced, arms wrapped around his torso.
"So...c-cold...." I giggled. "You're the one who was so excited." He growled softly, swimming an easy breaststroke over to me. "This is why you don't just waddle into the water in trunks," I pointed out. "Well, not everyone owned thousands of wetsuits," Scorpio replied. "You need one. Just one." He rolled his eyes yet again. "it doesn't matter, let's just go to the deck." I nodded, swimming over to the glowing beach deck.
(The deck)
"Well, here we are." I helped Scorpio onto the deck before heading into the cabin to grab a towel. "Here." I handed him a towel. "So... we're staying in the cabin, right?" I nodded. "Yeah, we are." The cabin was a spacious, two bedroom affair that my mom had built as an in-house holiday house. "Well, I'll fire up the projector... what movie do you want to watch?" Scorpio looked down at his feet, mumbling something inaudible.
I leaned over to face him. "Sorry, what was that?" Scorpio sighed, looking up at me. "I want to watch... Mean Girls." He paused for a second, staring at my face all seriously. I stared back... before I cracked up. "Oh my goodness, the bad boy wants to watch... Mean... Girls...." I wiped a tear from the corner of my eye. "Ugh, just put the damn movie on, Leebs," Scorpio sighed. "Okay.... I'll... put Mean Girls on..." Still laughing, I connected my phone to the projector, playing Mean Girls on Netflix.

"Well, it's starting." Scorpio pulled me closer on the two-seater teal couch. "This too close?" He was so close, his breath was tickling my cheek. "No, I'll live." Scorpio laughed before slowly lifting me onto his lap. "Still not close enough?" I laughed. "I can get closer still..." I whacked Scorpio on the head. "You're gross." Scorpio laughed. "Other girls would call it charming, but okay-" I shook my head. "Just... shut up and watch the movie." Scorpio grinned. "Or we could both shut up so I can kiss you-" I sighed.
"You're the one who wanted to watch Mean Girls, so please-" He stopped me with a kiss, a smile still so clearly on his face. I kissed him back, all my happiness finding its way into this moment. This was the happiest I had been in a long, long time. I was glad I had found someone who made me feel like that.
I slowly pulled away from Scorpio, smiling. "You're going to miss the entire movie, babe," I sighed. Scorpio's arm snaked around my waist. "I'm fine with that."
And I can honestly say that my night at the cabin with Scorpio was one of the best nights I'd ever had.
