i held my hand up in the air, ready to spank her. but my realization hit me harder than a bag of bricks.
i placed my hand down on the bed and sighed, pulling up Lily's skirt and placing her on my lap facing me.
i could see the fear in her eyes and she held back tears. she wasn't crying because she was afraid of me, she was crying because i made her remember the things she tries hardest to forget.
i engulfed her in my arms for a big tight hug, holding her head in my shoulder.
"" i softly told her.
she quickly wrapped her arms around me and held my shirt tightly while crying into my shoulder, apologizing immensely.
""
"" i rocked her in my arms.
"" lily responded and nodded quickly too. i kissed her head and held her tighter.
"" i made sure to tell her while caressing her hair and rubbing her back to calm her more.
after a few minutes, lily calmed down and rested in my shoulder, as if she was thinking.
"" i asked her softly. lily hummed and rubbed her face against my neck.
"" was her response. i sighed, mostly disgusted with myself on how i lost my cool so easily.
"" i lied down on the bed and let her cuddle close to me. oh how i love her cute scent.
"" lily asked me which is why my eyes widened.
"" i asked confused.
"" she answered honestly.
"" i chuckled at her smile and how she held her hands together so cutely.
she climbed into my shirt and rested her head upon my chest, listening to my heart beats.
"" i asked her quietly.
"" she told me while pouting.
"" i chuckled again at her cuteness and put my arms around her.
every so often i'll give her kisses on her head until she eventually fell asleep listening to our hearts.
though our hearts are two different hearts that beat to its own drum, the rhythm beautifully plays our song together.
