☾haechan, er du virkelig? - ☼

Mark had been out grocery shopping. He wanted some fresh air and thought the twelve-kilometer long bike ride was enough. It's a long distance to ride in the burning sun but Mark is used to it. His parents and sister are out in the city and will come home late. Mark wants to be alone today so he decided to not tag along.

The groceries jiggles in the bicycle basket, an old blanket under them. The blanket, weirdly, gives Mark a familiar feeling. He even at times turns sad looking at it.

Mark speeds up his pace as he wants to experience the exciting feeling of breath hitching and blood pumping. It makes him feel like he's in one of his own imaginary stories, free and happy. He is one kilometer away from his house and he has only seen five cars on his way back. It is calm and he doesn't need to worry about getting run down.

As he grabs his water bottle and sips some of the water he sees something sitting in the middle of the road. It is really far away and he immediately thinks it's just an animal. But as he gets closer the animal starts looking rather weird.

It starts looking like a person.

It is a person!

A boy with white elegant clothing on his body sits so fragile and angelic in the middle of the road. His face is turned away from Mark and his hair is fluffy and brown, almost the same color as his beautiful tan skin.

He looks like an angel sent from heaven how the sunlight falls so perfectly on him.

Mark stops his bike at the moment his breath fades away. He gets off of it and places it at the side road. He stares at the boy for some time before gulping and making his way over to him cautiously, feeling a sense of extreme deja vu.

The boy is simply breathtaking how innocent and perfect he looks sitting magically in the scenery so normal. He has definitely heard Mark because as soon as the older starts making his way towards him, he turns around and they share an intense stare.

The moment their eyes meet, Mark feels his heart stop. Nothing can compare to the number of strange feelings he feels looking at the stranger.

He tenses and stops for a second before making his way completely over to the boy who follows Mark's every move with his glistening eyes.

Mark crouches down in front of the boy and tries keeping his gaze anywhere than on the latter's face. Looking at the boy's face makes Mark's stomach turn and twist to the point it's uncomfortable. He doesn't know why, but everything feels so familiar like it has all happened before.

"You shouldn't sit out in the middle of the road," Mark speaks softly, taking in the boy's features. "The cars drive really fast out here and you could get kidnapped," he adds. The soft boy tilts his head to the side before glancing around him.

"You told me that last time as well," the boy says and stands up, his shiny and loose shirt easily draping his small figure.

Pain hits Mark's head abruptly, as something is trying to dig through a barrier in his memories. The voice of the stranger travels all the way through Mark's ear canal, a voice he definitely knows. Obliviously, a salty tear travels down Mark's cheek, followed by another, and before he knows it, he is crying.

"Hi, Mark," the boy whispers and tears up himself. "I know it's been a whole year, but do you remember me?"

"Where am I?"

"This is home?"

"Haechan! Haechan! My name is Haechan~"

"Promise?"

"Mark? Why are my eyes taking a bath?"

"But it hurt before."

"Then why did you act like I had done something bad?"

"Nervous."

"What's that?"

"It's cold."

"Sunshine. If I'm sunshine, then you're moonlight."

"Sing for me."

"What if I want to be?"

"I want to be your Haechan, Mark. I want to be yours."

"H-Haechan?"

The younger smiles through a hulk. He nods and wipes away his tears.

Mark takes a step forward and reaches out for the boy. "Haechan? Is it you?" he cries. "Are you real?"

Are you real?

"I'm real," Haechan grins.

Mark sniffles, taking in everything he suddenly remembered. "B-But," he stutters, swallowing the tears that just wouldn't stop leaving his eyes. "Y-You were gone and I- everyone f-forgot about y-you," he pauses.

"I-it was like you had never existed."

"I know," Haechan whispers. "They removed all your memories of me,"

"W-Who did?"

Haechan takes a deep breath. "It doesn't matter. I'm back and I won't disappear again," he promises and leans closer, "That's what matters," he whispers and pushes his lips onto Mark's, tasting the tears of the older that had managed to travel all the way to his quivering lips.

It felt like ages since he last got to taste them. A year too long.

A year where Haechan was desperately trying to forget his heartbreak and be a guardian angel for Mark. A year full of sleepless nights and days with tear-stained eyes

A year of having to witness the love of your life forget you completely.

A year too long...

Mark smiles when Haechan pulls away. It hurt a little, having all the memories come to him at once, but Haechan is standing in front of him, real, not a dream or an imagination, so that's all he can think of.

"Your heart is beating fast, Mark."

Mark giggles. "I'm a little nervous."

And like an eclipse, Mark and Haechan passed each other's way again.

Because Mark is the moon and Haechan is the sun, and together they're each other's universe.
