《InstaFamous》Chapter 6 - My Blondeness Is Damaging My Brain

✫✫✫
If there's one thing I hate more than popularity, it'd be makeovers.
Specifically hair, makeup and fashion makeovers.
Ever since the evil Mother Gothel 2.0 forced me into 'fame', I've been featured and required to sing in shows for the whole week. I was brutally tortured by wearing skimpy dresses and heels higher than any normal being would wear.
"What do you think we should do with the hair? It looks dead." I watched as a stylist played with my hair and lifted it up like it was some disgusting piece of trash.
Another stylist tried to comb it unsuccessfully. "This is the definition of disaster! What on earth do you do with your hair, shampoo it with turds? Do you even condition?"
"I've got no one to impress, so who cares?" I said nonchalantly.
They both looked at each other and raised their eyebrows. One said to the other, "I think she got hit in the head when she was a baby."
I rolled my eyes. Just as I was about to make a snarky remark, Paul entered the room.
"How's the makeover doing?"
I glared at him. "Not good in any way."
To give you a little heads up, my brother here requested the witch to be my personal manager. He manages all my schedules, says yes to every invite, and does his best to make me the superstar he wants me to be.
Basically he's trying to ruin my peaceful life. Isn't he a sweetie?
"Mr. Vloski, unfortunately the client needs extreme measures and changes. It'll take about three hours to shape her up." One of the stylists said.
Psh, extreme measures my butt. They should just tell the truth and say that they want me to be a fake dollette with highlights, thick lips and a face lift.
Paul smiled. "Cool. I'll be back within an hour to check out how things progress. Bye sis!"
I refused to look at him and muttered under my breath. "Don't sis me, aggravating donut."
Fortunately only the stylists heard me and Paul waved at me before leaving. As soon as he was gone, the stylists started snickering.
"Pft, donut." She stifled.
I rolled my eyes. "You're the donut. Let's just get this over with, please?"
They straightened up and started talking like professional stylists.
"We should dye her hair. I think it'd look better."
"What color should it be?"
"I'm thinking hot red. It would absolutely get everyone's attention!"
"Red is overrated. Have you seen Danice Jean's hair? Ugh, total eyesore!"
"Well how about a lighter shade of brown, like chestnut or hazel?"
"I don't think people would notice that."
Twenty minutes and a load of colors later, I groaned. "Quit it with the hair talk already! Just dye it blonde for all I care!"
Imagine my surprise when they both looked at me with shining eyes. They looked at each other and grinned.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" One of them said.
She jumped up and down. "Yes! I always wanted bleach on someone!"
"No you idiot. Honeydew!" She argued.
"Oh. Oh okay then."
My eyes widened. "Wait wait I wasn't serious!"
"No choice, dear. Its settled!" She said.
Please kill me now.

"These shoes look so good on you!" The stylist, who I found out was named Peppy, told me with a big smile on her face.
I shook my head. "Too flashy."
Pipa, the other stylist, glared at me. "We've been picking over thirty heels already! If you don't pick one, we'll force you into the ones you hate!"

I huffed. "Ugh, fine. I'll get the peach colored."
"You mean nude? We call it nude." Peppy said.
"I don't care. I called it peach so it's peach, got it?"
They sighed and got the heels.
Just to inform you, the shoe picking is the last thing we had to do for the makeover. I slept through half of the makeover, which was roughly thirty minutes. And guess what? I woke up and couldn't recognize myself.
"Beautiful!" Pipa marveled at my look and made me twirl in front of her.
I groaned and tried to twirl. Emphasize on the word 'tried' because I almost tripped.
"We'll work on the mannerisms soon." Peppy said.
Pipa nodded and looked at me. "Do you wanna see your whole makeover?"
"I already saw my face. I don't need to see it again." I said.
"But you're so pretty! You were pretty before the makeover but your features have enhanced!" Peppy pressed.
I let out another groan and marched towards the long mirror. I made sure to walk slowly so that I wouldn't have to see the horror just yet.
Paul beat me to it.
"I'm back guys! How's the makeover? Is my sister okay? Did you-"
We all turned around to see my brother holding way too much paper bags in his hands. A girl was at his back, sneaking looks behind him and both of them masked the same expression.
Pure shock.
"Who on earth is that?!" He yelled, dropping all of his paper bags. Our eyes widened when he ran towards me and started giving me a scrutinizing look. We were both taken aback when he began scolding the stylists.
"What have you done to my sister?! Where is she?! Did you replace her with this blonde copycat?!" He looked at me. "No offense."
My mouth went agape. "What the actual-"
"We did just what we told you, mister!" Peppy said. "We told you we'd be doing extreme measures and changes."
"But I didn't know you'd have the nerve to actually replace my sister with a stranger who looks like her!" He said. "This barbie is way more ugly than my sister!"
Okay, just.. ouch!
Pipa and Peppy gave me worried looks. "But sire.. She is-"
"Entirely different from my sister! Now bring my sister back! Where is she?!" He was fuming.
I stepped beside him and hit him hard in the head. "I'm right here, aggravating donut."
He glanced at Peppy, then at me. Then he walked towards me slowly and fell on his knees. I on the other hand, felt really queasy and backed my chair away from him.
"This.. This beautiful girl... Is Gigi Vloski?" He pointed at my face.
My eyes turned to slits. Before I could yell at him though, he stood up and hugged me. "Gigi! I never knew you could look so human in all of your days!"
"Gee, thanks bro." I said sarcastically and pushed him off of me.
I looked at Pipa and Peppy. "Well.. I'll be leaving now then. Thanks for turning me into a barbie wannabe."
They smiled at me. "No problem, Ms. Vloski. We hope to see you again soon!"
As if that's gonna happen. I won't let Paul do that to me ever again.
"C'mon, donut." I dragged him out of the salon before staring at the girl who was behind my brother awhile ago.
"Who's she?" I asked Paul, who was trying to wrap his arms around all his paper bags.

She seemed startled, but gave me a kind smile. "Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm your brother's classmate in high school."
"Classmate?" I frowned. "Why are you here? Are you on a date with him or something?"
They both blushed and shook their heads furiously. Paul laughed nervously. "Silly Gigi. We're not dating. She just helped me out in buying outfits for you."
Fishy. Very fishy.
"Oh. Okay." I said. Then I realised what he said. "Wait... Outfits?! For what?"
"Well, to be very honest, you don't have the best taste in fashion sis. And since Tracy practically forced me to change your wardrobe and throw your old clothes away, I had to go shopping. It's a good thing I bumped into Melissa this morning or I would've chosen the ugliest clothing." He chuckled at the last bit.
"Oh. Okay." I said. Then I realised what he said, again. "Wait... You threw away my clothes?! Did you throw all of it away?"
He took a deep breath and nodded. "I'm sorry. Tracy's orders. I even had to burn them, according to her."
First of all, ouch. Second of all, who does that curly haired witch think she is?! If I wasn't such an angel, I would've already hit her with a beef jerky. A thick one. Added with salt. And tons and tons of hot sauce.
I took a deep breath and walked away from them. "Let's go. We're going grocery shopping."
"What? Why? Shouldn't we be heading home right now?" He asked.
"No, we are going to buy me lots of beef jerky and gummy bears." I said and walked away again.
"But Tracy-"
"I don't care about the witch, okay? And you owe me for calling me ugly and throwing my clothes away, so chop chop! Let's go peasants!" I snapped my fingers and this time, they walked with me begrudgingly.
✫✫✫
I never knew that shopping for myself would be such a stressful thing to do. I mean, I know I should've listened to my main bro's orders, but I didn't know I would get into so much trouble for shopping.
"Omg omg omg thank you so so so much for taking a photo with me, Gigi! You have no idea how much you mean to me!" A little girl dressed exactly like one of Hailie's minions jumped up and down and continued squeezing me in a hug.
I love my fans and all, but guys.. No chill. This kid has no chill.
"Emma let's go! This is the twentieth time you've hugged and said the same thing to her!" The teenager with her, who I presume is her sister, nagged and tugged at the little girl who was still busy getting cuddly with me.
"Wait.. Thirty seconds." She said. After awhile, she finally, finally let go. "Omg thank you so so much again! I love you!"
"Love you too." I said and waved as she was dragged away by her sister, who kept apologizing earlier on and was probably embarrassed by her sister's actions.
I sighed. "Ugh. When shall I have a time of peace and serenity?"
"When you decide to go home." Paul muttered, crossing his arms. Melissa left us on our own devices after helping me out to pick other new clothes for me, so now my brother is back to his usual annoying self.
"Oh shut up." I said. "Now let's go and eat something."
He groaned. "We've been to more than five restaurants and candy stores already and it hasn't even been three hours! My stomach can't stand it anymore!"
"Hush little grasshopper. Momma is going to buy herself delicious foods." I said and started going to the nearest diner.
He complained on and on. "Argh. Hey, there is no such thing as 'foods'! I thought you were smart?"
I shrugged. "I guess my blondness is probably damaging my brain. Ya know, I feel their pain right now, those people who get way too many hair dyes."
"You're ridiculous. I shouldn't have let them dye your hair in the first place." He said to himself.
"You know you love me." I giggled.
He put both hands on his cheeks. "You are drunk on food. We need to go home asap."
"Stop making lame excuses brothah. C'mon now." We both entered one of my favorite resto's, Lottie's. Like most diners, it has a very vintage feel to it. Almost every furniture is 60's themed and you could hear the faint songs of your uncles playing in the background. The unique thing about Lottie's is that their walls are half bare and the way they fill it up is by taking polaroid pictures of couples holding their signature couple dish. It's kinda love based, but I'm okay with it because they have really good food.
I ordered a lot of their famous ice cream while Paul just asked for coffee. After getting our orders, I dug in.
"You know you'll get fat with everything you're eating, right?" He asked and sipped his coffee.
I chewed as I spoke. "I. Don't. Care. Even if every talent agency rejects me because of my sudden fatness, I won't give a pug. You're the one who signed me up for the fame anyway."
He nodded. "Got a point. Although, I have to ask, why do you hate being famous?"
"We both know that you know the answer to that, bro." I got a big spoonful of mango flavored ice cream and shoved it in my mouth.
"Look, if it's about mom, you shouldn't let that affect you. The past is the past. Nothing good will happen if you just hide your talent." He said.
I swallowed hard and drank from Paul's coffee. Immediately, I spat. "Ew. What kind of coffee did you order? It tastes gross."
"Stop changing the subject, sis." He said. "What I mean is, you should showcase your talent while you can because if you don't, someone might just snatch it away from you."
"I don't need your stupid advice. Yeah, I know that I should 'showcase' my talent, but all of you are just rudely forcing me to do it! I didn't ask for this! You just made an opportunity, you didn't let time give the opportunity! It's a messed up way of reaching your dreams, don't you think?" I said and stood up.
He stayed silent for a moment before replying. "Where are you going?"
"To the place where I can have time to calm down." I said and moved to go, but he stopped me.
"Exactly where?"
"To the bathroom, duh."
He let go and blushed. "Oh okay. Uh.. Bye."
✫✫✫

Not Another Isekai RPG Story Alternate
The story ends at Alternate Route Finale. Ch 2-2 and on can be treated as Extra Chapters. I still hadn't edited that one and it's low on priority. I may come back to it if I'm in the mood. Most of the portions of the story will NOT focus on the skills, stats, grinding or battles. More about the dialogues (or the internal monologues) and the MC interacting with the world (or glitching, if you name it.). ... With parts of his memory lost, Takeshi, a 25-year old lazy office worker was transported to a game world. Using his casual knowledge on video-game mechanics, join Takeshi's journey as he discover more about the world, his companions and himself. (only if you're interested though.) My personal review: from ch-2 on expect a lot of perversion going on. It can be pretty weird, like the MC want to be a girl and Y*ri other girls, Fut*nari folks, Traps, the mention of t*ntacle monsters and some lulzy display (like shoving a morning star up someone's b*tthole in retaliation). In here, the MC will discover new things as he kept on exploring and trying different stuff. This story will mostly be character-driven. Explanations about the world and its mechanics was kept to a minimum. The MC's on the shameless side with not much real-life common sense (maybe) and he's (probably) not righteous at all. The other characters can be pretty weird as well. It won't focus on romance. Well that's about it.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
