5/5 updates for August 16, 2022. With this, the main story is complete. Thank you all so much for reading this spontaneous project that I wasn't sure I would even finish. Hope you all enjoyed the Jenny's story.

Jenny spent the last month of her pregnancy doing very little. She wasn't even worrying that much. Jenny thought it could be fun to watch the plot and Bai, but realized now how much stress that caused her.

Since she has already messed up the plot, there was no logical reason to stick around any longer. It was a shame that Bai wanted to move with her, but it took Parker and Harvey a long time to build. Even when Shuu came to assist. Him and Parker would fight most of the time. If Harvey made progress without them, Parker would tell him that it wasn't good enough.

Jenny and her abundant hormones may have threatened to smack Parker if he bitched and whined anymore. To her surprise, Parker actually cut back. He even looked very intimidated by her threats. Feeling large and in charge, Jenny decided that it had nothing to do with Winston standing behind her. Definitely not his doing.

Thanks to the chaotic nature of Bai's helpers, their den building was slow. Parker had lofty goals, but cruddy carpentry skills. His pride also got in way every time Shuu tried to help. Harvey was the only good one, but his progress was slow.

Jenny bit the inside of her cheek. It really pissed her off to see it. Harvey had no house, but was putting his effort into building Bai's. Knowing Curtis, Jenny couldn't see him letting Harvey sleep in the den with them despite the fact that he was one of the primary builders.

Jenny decided to distance herself mentally from the stress. Harvey was a big boy. If he wanted to put a girl before himself, that was up to him. Other than that, Jenny had little stress. Okay, aside from her approaching due date that is.

Eve made great company and Jenny taught her all kinds of cooking recipes. The other women also enjoyed her crafts and was interested in learning. Another women named Edith joined them frequently. Edith was vain and impatient, but was decent enough. Eudora mostly stayed away from them and Jenny was grateful for that.

The harvest came and went, giving Jenny plenty of grain. Itching to get to work, Jenny could only pout when the men wouldn't let her. She understood, she really did. 'Come on little girl. Any day you can come out now,' Jenny thought to her child.

One hurdle Jenny managed to get over, was comforting Sieg. She bugged him to carry her more than anyone else. Jenny wouldn't let him think that he couldn't touch her. She knew he was capable of controlling his strength. She was here to help him practice and insisted on it.

Once he was comfortable again, Jenny reduced her requests. It was great that she was still able to move around when she could pop any day now. Of course, she wasn't comfortable being active, but it was doable. Supposedly, her grandmother worked until the day she gave birth. Her water broke while she was working in the medical records department of the hospital. That amazing women walked to the ER and checked herself in. If she could do it, so could Jenny. At least, Jenny kept telling herself that.

When her water finally broke, Jenny almost didn't realize it. There was no big gush of water or soaked clothes. The only thing she experienced, that was different than normal, was a damp sensation in her underwear. Since she knew the baby would come any day now, Jenny called Harvey over for the millionth time that week.

Once he confirmed her dilation, everyone started panicking. Well, Sieg and Harvey were the exceptions. Simon was literally tripping over himself and grabbing everything he could. He ran into Mestor who was carrying Jenny's vodka. They fell over and Sieg caught the stone jug before it smashed on the floor.

Winston was by her side holding out the energy crystals like an offering, while Harvey helped her position herself for easier birth. Jenny wanted to laugh, but her nerves were highly strung. She nervously laughed and giggled uncontrollably in response to the craziness around her.

Jenny didn't need the crystals yet, so Winston set them down. Jenny tried to talk down Simon who was acting like he was the one giving birth. Mestor gathered everything else she may need during her time. Jenny had her afghan draped over her for privacy while Harvey preceded to wipe her with the alcohol. Feeling extremely embarrassed at this moment, Jenny wished that she could bend and do it herself.

Jenny didn't have to stay ashamed long, a contraction hit her and removed all extra thoughts from her brain. Labor was terrible. It was no exaggeration to say that it was one of the most painful things she could experience.

Hers lasted just shy of eight hours and she ate two crystals during the process. Thankfully, she experienced no horrible complications during birth. Jenny did feel that she tore some, but Harvey assured her that it wasn't critical. She had kicked Simon and Winston out for her sanity. Sieg was long gone by the time she birthed and had filled every container in the den with water and food. Simon dug her an extra well while Winston paced the perimeter of their home.

Mestor comforted Jenny through the process and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Harvey handed her to Mestor who froze. "Mestor? What's wrong?" Jenny asked worriedly. While she was fussing, Harvey treated her tear.

"Nothing at all," Mestor said quickly. "No, I was just thrilled that my cub is healthy." Jenny's tired eyes landed on Mestor's. He looked at her softy, a smile gracing his beautiful face. He passed her the baby and Jenny took a look at her daughter for the first time.

Her daughter was crying enthusiastically and was flushed a dark pink. The little scruff of red hair plastered to the baby's head told her exactly who the father was, no beast nose needed. Harvey excused himself as Mestor helped her undo her dress. Jenny fed her baby whispering the name they chose for her. "Little Maeve, you will grow up strong and healthy," Jenny said like a prayer.

Jenny rested a lot after her birth. The tear hurt like hell and Jenny wanted it to heal as fast as possible. Her daughter was very vocal and always hungry, but she was healthy. That was the most important part. Jenny and her mates were extremely careful with Maeve. Sieg wouldn't even hold her. Feeling sad for the big guy, Jenny tried to show by example. The most she could get Sieg to do was touch the child with a finger. Sighing, she figured it was progress at least.

After one week, Jenny's eye bags sagged low. Her daughter was certainly lively. Jenny was lucky if she got three hours of sleep in a row. Mestor and Simon handled Maeve great and would change her diaper and burp her frequently, giving Jenny some much needed rest. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to help with Maeve's ravenous appetite.

The drought was in full effect, but they were okay still. They had two deep wells by the den and a communal one dug in the center of the drying river. They had to clean the water well, but they had it available.

The village congratulated Jenny and celebrated the female cub. They were a smaller village so every female that joined was a big deal. Jenny smiled tiredly at Eve and Edith. She wished she had the energy to socialize, but all she wanted to do was sleep.

About a month later, Jenny's eye bags became permanent additions to her face. Whenever Maeve was ready to sleep through the night, Jenny was right there with her. Literally. It couldn't come soon enough.

At this point in time, Winston had grown confortahbe holding Maeve, though he looked a little stiff. Sieg was still unwilling to hold her, but Jenny wasn't willing to push. At least he was actively poking her. Smirking at how weird that sounded to her, Jenny went back inside. The weather was way too hot and miserable for her to stay out there.

For five weeks after birth, Jenny had a hard time doing her business. Once her perineal tear healed, she was a much happier person. The happiness from recovery was short lived. Harvey rarely came to tend to her now and ended up away most of the time. He had to work on convincing Bai to leave the city. Jenny hoped, for his sake, that he would be successful.

About seven weeks since Maeve was born, an earthquake shook the ground. It wasn't terrible at first, but a few moments later, Jenny was unable to stand up. "Jenny!" Multiple voices called her name as her spouses shot out of the house. She had warned them this past month about what would happen, so they were prepared.

Prepared they were, but still distraught. Even if they saw this coming, it was crazy to experience first hand. Jenny sat on the ground with her family until it stopped shaking. Maeve cried as Jenny looked towards the City of Beasts. The sky was becoming hazy and dark.

Everyone prepared to pick up and leave at a moments notice. The ash reached their location as the volcano continued to erupt in the distance. Jenny was sure that Camel Hump Valley survived, but the earthquake caused several rock slides that took out some of the dens. Hers still stood thankfully, but they stayed out of it in case.

Jenny soothed Maeve to the best of her ability while Winston went around to check on the situation. Within the hour, roars rang out. The leopard king had arrived bringing his mate and others with him. Winston joined the effort to help evacuate the area closer to the city after Jenny made sure that he wouldn't be reckless about it.

The ash now covered the sky, making it appear much later than it was. It looked bleak and terrifying. Many leopards and some other beasts filled the small village up past capacity. A lot of them were injured and Jenny went to treat them, leaving Maeve in Mestor's care. She was sure to take multiple breaks to avoid overwork, but the amount of injuries were great. There were several who died with Jenny unable to help them.

Jenny wept for the strangers. She hated this. The smell of burnt flesh. The death. Feeling weak and influenced by it. This was exactly why she couldn't be a nurse. Her patients had to live or she couldn't do it. As the only 'doctor' in the village, Jenny was still needed. Instead of taking it all on, she delegated tasks.

"It will be done," the leopard king responded to Jenny's orders. He organized those who could move and relayed Jenny's first aid instructions. He didn't understand why a female had such skills, but he wasn't in a situation where he could be picky about the gender of their doctor.

Once the chaos settled down, a layer of ash blanketed on the ground. Jenny took another break to rest and care for Maeve. When Jenny had a moment she swept the ash out of her garden with her Mestor-made broom. It was her poor attempt at regaining control over something.

Jenny was relieved of her doctorly duties and was only called on twice that night. The following day, the leopard king confirmed what Jenny already knew. The city had fallen. Jenny assessed the king in front of her, but he showed no wariness towards her. That was relieving. If the ape king still accused Bai, Jenny was left out of it.

Jenny knew the ape king never collected her hair and was always cautious around him. She just thought that he might have lumped her and Bai together. Since there was no association, Jenny could remain less alert.

Jenny ended up playing doctor for a while. Her spouses kept their eyes out for Harvey and any other familiar faces, but they found none. Jenny worried about her friend, but reminded herself that he knew ahead of time. It wasn't like he was a reckless idiot who had to have his hand held through life. She would have faith in him, her conscience needed that in order to relax.

The weeks following were hectic. The leopard king made the valley his new home, but it wasn't large enough to support the influx of beasts that came from the city. The village was extremely crowded now and smelt like a sand box. Even though Jenny's home was on the village outskirts, the smell traveled on the breeze when she was unlucky enough to be downwind.

The leopard king tried to spread out the beasts and help establish smaller, satellite villages. The numbers were still too great. Some single males left on their own as time passed, but many stayed.

Jenny became something of a celebrity in the village. She was a female doctor who's first cub was a female. Males looked past her less desirable appearance and approached her regularly. They tried, but Sieg and Winston always made them think twice before testing their luck.

Winston worked with the leopard king to fortify the village defenses and resources. Thanks to the wells, most of the beastmen avoided critical levels of dehydration. They were far from healthy, however.

Thanks to the mass influx of females and the loose security of the village, several females were stolen by ferals. Although their were several tetra marked males in the village, they could not be everywhere at once. Many ferals were caught and killed in the act, but some escaped with their prizes.

Security was eventually improved, but that took time and organization. A lot of beastmen left in the meanwhile and no one blamed them for it. The valley was a nice place to live, but it couldn't sustain this many beasts and the kings new it.

"Tiger King," started a sentry. "I found traces of another snake."

Winston took the report calmly. He would have to investigate later. He wanted to be home with his mate, but he couldn't shirk his duty. Not when it involved her safety.

Several changes had occurred before the city had fallen. Among them, the tiger king had confronted Curtis, dying in the process. The throne was empty and Winston found himself assuming the role. Normally, a fight for the throne would ensue, but the chaotic state of the city and clan pushed Winston into the role without ceremony. Even though he was the called a king, it was in name alone. The throne would have to be won through battle for his claim to be true. That was the rule of the tiger clan.

Jenny sat in her wooden rocking chair as she lulled Maeve into sleep. Things had calmed down a lot in the last few months and Jenny was really able to breath again. The weather was cooling and Jenny was getting back into a routine.

Her daughter was now sleeping for longer than a couple of hours at a time and Jenny's eye bags were less comical now. She had gone back to a nice exercise regimen and was rebuilding lost muscle. Her labor and recovery could've been worse and she wanted to think that her fitness level helped a lot.

Maeve's steady breathing told her that her child had fallen asleep. Setting Maeve into her Winston-built crib, Jenny got to stretching. Feeling her clothes bunch up uncomfortably, Jenny removed her them in favor of another pair.

As she changed her shirt, a flash of color caught her eye. An alligator tattoo, stretching from Mestor's mark to her left shoulder, appeared to be floating above her heart. Jenny smiled at the sheer size of it. It was taking up so much space, but the alligator looked at home there.

Jenny was glad she could finally complete their bond. Between her pregnancy and the chaos following the city's demise, Jenny hadn't been able to. Sieg, the big and scary alligator, was afraid to hurt her when she was pregnant. It was a cute consideration that Jenny found endearing. Of course, he never told him that herself. Sieg's communication skills were improving, but they hadn't come that far along. Jenny had to guess based on her experiences with him.

Jenny peeked out the window and caught Sieg carrying some lumber towards the house, Mestor following behind. Jenny smiled and waved. There was something else that changed. It was slight, but Sieg was starting to do chores. He was never especially motivated, but he was doing a few things without Jenny having to request it first.

Mestor gave her a sly grin and an eyebrow wiggle. Jenny rolled her eyes. There was another one that changed. He now openly flirted with her every chance he got. Jenny didn't mind. If anything, it was a nice confidence boost and a fun exchange. She got to flex her own flirting skills thanks to him.

Thinking about it, it wasn't just those two. They have all changed. Simon was still a bit of a chicken, preferring to back off as opposed to fighting. Jenny wasn't discouraging that, in fact, she liked that. It made her worry less. What changed was his confidence in general. He no longer put himself down as much as he used to. Jenny encouraged him when she could on that front. It was rarer now to catch him looking depressed. Most of the time, he looked happy.

If someone changed the most, it was probably Winston. He no longer closed himself off towards others and was becoming more expressive. He still wasn't one to ask for things, but he didn't hold back his emotions as severely. The number of smiles Jenny caught him wearing were growing to numerous to count and she even got him to laugh a couple of times. It warmed her heart seeing him so comfortable.

Then there was her. The adapting goal she had set for herself had been achieved. She still had unanswered questions, but she didn't get her panties in a twist over them. There was no way for her to get those answers and she was pretty happy here. Even if she knew how she got here or why, she would feel the same. Jenny was actually glad she didn't know how to go back. If she did, she would have to choose. Having her choice taken from her was actually a blessing in a way.

As much as Jenny missed her old family, she loved her new family just as much. Her parents would miss her terribly, but her spouses and daughter needed her. If she had to make that choice, as painful as it would be, she knew her answer.

Sieg dropped a log, startling Maeve awake. Jenny went to her and sung a lullaby. Winston and Simon returned to hear the soft singing of their mate. They exchanged glances and neither one interrupted. Sieg and Mestor joined them in listening to the pleasant tune as Maeve fell back to sleep.
