《The Youngest Pevensie (a narnia fanfiction)》Aslan

I was sat on Edmunds lap as Peter rode us down the perfectly still river. As I leaned over the boat I could see my reflection very clearly but if I adjusted my eyes I could see straight to the bottom of the turquoise water.
I straightened back up to see Lucy staring at the trees "There so still." she observed.
"They're trees, what do you expect?" Trumpkin( I had now learnt that was the dwarfs name) grunted.
"They used to dance." Lucy sadly replied.
Narnia seemed like such a lovely place, I wish I had been here the first time my siblings came. As much as they cared for me, they had always had there own little secrets because of this place. Now, I was finally getting to see what they saw but it just made me feel even more left out. I mean they're Kings and Queens of this whole world and I'm just their annoying baby sister that they have to take care off.
"It wasn't long after you left that the Telmarines invaded. Those that survived retreated to the woods, and the trees retreated so deeply into themselves that no one has heard from them since." Trumpkin recited as if from a book.
"I don't understand," Lucy muttered looking down at the dwarf "How could Aslan had let this happen?"
Aslan, yet another thing about this place I didn't understand. I zoned out of Lucy and the dwarfs conversation and my eyes wandered up the the wooded hill that bordered the river. A large lion came into view with a gorgeous mane that softly shook at every move he made. He winked at me before disappearing before my very eyes. This confused me but I shook it off and looked back towards my siblings.
"Get us to the Narnians and it will." Peter told Trumpkin, finishing their conversation.

When we finally reached the shore, we all clambered off onto a pebbley beach. As the others tied up the boat I spotted a great black bear sat behind a winding log. I had remembered Lucy telling me how all the animals could talk and that they were the gentlest creatures she'd ever met. Because of this, I started wandering towards the beast.

"Hello there!" I smiled to the bear as he looked up at me "It's alright we're friends" I told him motioning towards my family and Trumpkin.
"Don't move" Trumpkin ordered as I looked back at him. By the time I had turned back, the bear was already charging towards me, taking great leaps as I froze in fear.
"Sophie!" Susan cried out as I tripped over a stick and fell onto the uneven ground.
"Susan, shoot!" Edmund ordered as he ran towards me.
I let out a terrified scream as I covered my face and curled up, ready for the bear to attack, but it never did. I looked up cautiously to see a black arrow embedded in the beasts stomach.
Peter ran towards me and helped me up, keeping me hidden behind his legs as he continued to point his sword at the fallen bear.
"Why wouldn't he stop?" asked Susan. I turned round to see that it was actually Trumpkin who had saved me and not Susan. I sent him a grateful smile.
"I expect he was hungry" Trumpkin replied simply before returning my smile.
"He was wild" Edmund said while staring at the bear in confusion.
"I don't think he could talk at all." Peter continued.
"Get treated like an dumb animal long enough and that's what you become." Trumpkin grunted as he walked towards us pulling out his dagger "you made find Narnia a more savage place than you remember."
Lucy and I turned away from Trumpkin as he slit the bears throat to make sure he was dead.

After a while, we were all wandering through the forest. "I don't remember this way, at all." Susan muttered glancing at Lucy.
"That's the problem with girls. You can't carry a map in your heads." Peter retorted, smirking at the end.
"That's because our heads have something in them." Lucy replied sassily as I giggled.

"I wish he'd just listen to the DLF." Susan said to no one in particular.
Edmund turned to Susan "DLF?"
"Dear Little Friend" I simply stared staring ahead.
"Oh that's not patronizing at all, is it?" Trumpkin said glaring at me as I giggled.
I looked up to Peter to see him step onto a large rock and then stop, staring ahead of him.
"Don't tell me your lost" Susan sighed.
"I'm not lost" Peter tutted loudly.
"No your just going the wrong way." The dear little friend mocked from beside me.
Peter whipped round to Trumpkin in anger "You said you last saw Caspian at the Shuddering Wood, and the quickest way to get there is to cross at river rush."
Peter and Trumpkin started arguing as the rest of my siblings and I watched on.
"But unless I'm mistaken, there's no crossing in these parts." Trumpkin said, surprisingly calmly.
"That's explains it then, your mistaken." finished Peter. I thought that was quite a clever thing to say.
The dwarf and I shared a look before continuing after Peter. After a while we reached a gorge. It was very steep with rushing water at the bottom.
"Over hundreds of years, water erodes the earths soil..." Susan started reciting but she was cut off when Peter shut her up.
"Is there a way down?" Peter asked as I walked forward to hold his hand.
"Yeah, falling" Trumpkin states simply, "Come, there's a Ford at Beruna. Any of you mind swimming?"
Before I could tell him that I couldn't, Susan said "Anything's better than walking."
I looked up at Peter and he gave me a reassuring smile and we followed the others towards Beruna.
"Aslan? It's Aslan over there!" Lucy shouted pointing to the other side of the gorge. She turned back to us with a massive grin on her face and she noticed our confused expressions "Well can't you see he's right.."
"There" she added sadly after glancing back to the other side of the gorge and seeing him disappear.
"Where, Lu?" Peter asked softly.
"Do you see him now?" Trumpkin asked patronisingly.
"I'm not crazy, he was there! He wanted us to follow him." Lucy asked looking at me for help.
I decided to tell the others what I had seen in the before "Lucy's telling the truth. I saw him when we were in the boat." My siblings looked down at me concerned as I finished "he...he winked at me."
"I'm sure there are a number of lions in these woods. Just like that bear." Peter said trying to get us to move on.
"I think I know Aslan when I see him!" Lucy retorted back.
"He's right Lucy, I'm sorry." Susan added softly.
Trumpkin looked around at us all in disbelief before saying "Look, I'm not about to jump off a cliff after someone who doesn't exist."
"Last time i didn't believe Lucy, I ended up looking pretty stupid" Edmund was referring to the first time Lucy discovered Narnia.
"Why wouldn't we have seen him?" Peter asked desperately.
"Maybe you weren't looking" Lucy muttered.
"I'm sorry, Lu" Peter sighed. He handed Edmund his shield and knelt down in front of me so I could climb onto his back.
"Come on" I turned round to Lucy as we continued on our trek to Beruna.
