《Smii7yxOC》Together.

(It will always be from the main character's POV. This is also my second time writing this chapter so it has been a good start. I might cry.)

My hands ran all over the sofa. Anxiety had eaten at me for hours. I was not sure as to how the day would go but that didn't matter one bit as I had no control over what would be said or taken in by the new person. Chills hit my arms and legs but the air outside was as warm as I had ever encountered before.

Just as I had moved to the kitchen and set about making a smoothy for my lunch, ringing hit my ears. I walked around a little lost as my phone escaped my notice. Finally, the bright light shone from between the pillows in the living room and I answered.

"Hey. I just got a text and your new housemate shall join you in like half an hour. Don't forget that they have only spoken to me, so don't act all stupid as to why they don't recognise you instantly or immediately or after you have spoken." I rolled my eyes and sighed at the other person.

"Instantly and immediately have the same if not exactly the same definition. No need to use both. You don't sound smart at all. Now, I am at your service what can I do for you?" His voice carried down the phone and my head nodded even though he couldn't see me do so.

Before long he hit a long-ass rant and I had to endure it until the door was heard and a familiar sound of keys hitting the wood had filled my ears. It was finally my chance to do what I wanted and hang up.

"All right. Love you, bye. No, Matt. You know I love you. Well, eat my ass." I hung up and thought about how I did love him but he was a pain in the ass at all times. Perhaps why I loved him so much.

"Hello?" A tall brunette entered the kitchen and then another one followed looking the same. I raised an eyebrow and took the outstretched hand that they had shown me. One had a firmer grip than the other.

"I am Andrew. This is Jaren." I smiled and gave a small wave. Andrew seemed to be the talkative one and so I assumed he would be the one to move in with me.

"Sorry. I talked to someone called Matt?" I sighed and gave a click from my tongue and thought on how to respond to him.

"Matt is my hoe. I was busy this morning and also hate how my voice sounds on the phone. He was a fill-in. I live here." They had clearly not been expecting me to be the one who lived in the house.

"Oh. I see. So, your number is the one on the paper?" I nodded and Andrew took the paper off of his brother who had been busy unpacking. The paper had only just found its way into his hand.

"Can I call you? No, you don't like your voice, do you? Can I text you?" I was so confused but also nodded. He was about to live with me and yet he wanted to text and call me about, something.

"I am off, Jaren. I will place your boxes at the steps." I felt my face turn quickly towards the quieter one that I may have given myself whiplash. I had assumed so wrong and Jaren would be living with me.

"So, will Matt be coming over often?" Jaren asked quietly as he looked around. I had halted in my steps and thought. The drive was a long one and Matt wouldn't have a great reason to visit in person.

"No. He is off being a hoe elsewhere. I mean, not a real hoe but you know. Living his dude ass life on the other half of Canada." My answer had dragged on for too long but I was busy cleaning up after myself and the silence would kill me.

"Does that make your relationship tough?" I stopped in my tracks and held back my loud laugh. My face tinted and I wiped my face with the hand that didn't have soapy water on anymore.

"No. We facetime. I mean, if you mean like a serious relationship, let's just say he doesn't bat the balls away. Anyway, would you like me to carry a box or two up to your area as I am up that way now?" He didn't say a word, to begin with, and then he turned and gave a nod. Clearly, he had assumed Matt to be my other part.

On my way up with two boxes in hand, only little ones, my phone buzzed. Nothing could stop me from answering as it was in my hand, just about, and then I put it onto loudspeaker.

Drugs?

When in the flying hell have I ever done a stupid thing like that?

You went out with Pete. He was pretty toxic and potent. Also, you found him to be highly addictive.

Shut it. Besides, you aren't allowed in my ickle house until you clear up your crabs.

What has you so touchy? It sounds like you want to hang up on me.

You just mentioned the biggest mistake I have ever made. Look, not all of us are as entitled as you are. I have two things you don't have and you have two things I don't have. I have bills and a job. You have a support network and Grindr.

All right. I told you, I got off of Grindr after I met Alfie. Anyway, you can't say I receive my life on a silver platter. You just received like 10000 maple syrup moneys.

The money I got after my parents died you jackarse. Besides, I was in the system for a year. The closest you ever got to the system is when you decided to take pity on me and come visit me.

Still, a lot of money and you also have lots of life experiences that I never will.

Well, you can have them. No 17 year old should have to go to court over their own parents' money. I am only 18 and yet I have done more shit than most elders have.

All right.

I need to go. Bye.

Oh no. That isn't good. The silent treatment.

*

I hung up and instantly regretted the call as the boxes landed in the centre of Jaren's hall and he stood not far away with boxes of his own. Pretending that he hadn't heard any of the call that had just gone down. I was beyond mortified.
