That night, Aricka pulled up Skype on her laptop. Clicking on Patton's username, she called him.
Five minutes later, "KIDDO! Oh my gosh! I miss you already!" she laughs, and leans her chin on her hand. "GUYS! ARICKA'S HERE! SHE'S HERE!" thunderous footsteps, then,
"ARICKA!!" could be heard. She smiles, and then she sees Virgil, and her eyes well up with tears, because he had Jackabear in his arms.
"Hey sis," he says. She wipes her tears.
"I miss you so much," she says. "I'm so homesick, and it hasn't been one day!"
"Aw, c'mon buttercup!" Thomas says. "Have you made any friends?"
"One, my roommate! Her name's Amaya Holmes." they start talking about other things, and Virgil makes Jackabear wave at her, making her laugh. "Virgil! You're going to make me cry again!"

She gets dressed, and pulls out the jacket Virgil gave her when she was 14 and slips it on and it still fits! Aricka lays down, closes her eyes, and falls asleep.

The first 30 chapters have a lot of time-skipping, but stay with me it gets better.
