《Being Thomas Sander's Foster Kid》Sanders Sides Video

"Are you ready to do this?" Thomas asks. Aricka nods. She was going stand next to one of the boys in the newest video-no, not Crofter's the Musical.
"Ready." She walks over, and sits on the stairs-she was short enough that the camera wouldn't catch her until she moved to the step Virgil sat on. She had her jacket open, and her elbows resting casually on her knees.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Is everyone here?" Dad asks, and Aricka pops up.
"You forgot me!" Virgil scoots over so she had more room. "Heya Verge."
"Aricka."
"HEY IT'S ARICKA!" Patton exclaimed, and they waved at each other.
"LOGAN!" she exclaims, and says, "Hi buddy. Hey Roman."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"...And that's how I was chosen by them-my family-Thomas and the Sides. And that's also how I chose them-they were the first family that I actually felt like they truely loved me." Aricka finishes, trying to fight the tears that were threatening to fall. "And it was the first time I let myself love a foster family."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the video, Aricka hopped off the stairs and hugged Patton, trying to stop the flow of tears falling down her face. "I love you guys," she whispers. Patton hugs her back, and kisses the top of her head.
"We love you too." Someone takes Aricka from Patton and hugs her-she saw the familiar flash of black and blue, and knew it was Logan. He bends down and hugs her, and she snuggles closer to him.
Someone touched her cheek, and she looks over to see Roman smiling, with tears in his eyes, at her. "You're our princess-we all love you, Aricka."
"Hey, my turn to hug her," Virgil says, and pulls her into his lap, kissing her cheek. "I'm so glad we adopted you." he whispers in her ear.
"What about me? I'm her actual dad!" Thomas protests-but he was joking. Aricka stands and walks over to him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I love you, Aricka."
"I love you, Dad."
An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
The Ratter
By gnawing through a dike, even a rat may drown a nation.-Edmund Burke There are three kinds of monsters that every rookie adventurer can be expected to face. The first is the goblin, the small green humanoids that often cause problems out on the frontier. The second is the slime, the sneaky ambush predator that likes to drop down from the ceiling and seems to be just about everywhere. And then, there's the giant rat, the plague of the sewer and the tavern cellar. But they're nothing but a petty annoyance, right? Right? Wrong. Giant rats multiply like wildfire and mature very quickly. Unlike rats, they can very quickly exceed their available food supply and start hunting for human flesh the moment that nothing else is available. A hungry swarm, unchecked, can eat a city alive. But not if The Ratter has anything to say about it.
