《I Fell For The Muslim Girl》Chapter 23 : Blackmailed the bestfriend

After the class was dismissed, I made my to the library to meet Justin. I assumed that he wanted to talk about what happened last night. I reached the library exactly at 4 just like he planned on meeting me. I entered the library and searched for any sign of him.

"Camila!" I heard his voice calling my name.

I searched around for the direction where his voice was coming from and saw him sitting at a table. He waved at me so that I could see him. I approached him and took a seat next to him.

"Hey." I said.

"Hey." he flashed a warm smile.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"I'm good. Embarrassed actually." he brushed his hair aside with his long fingers.

"Why? Embarrassed of what?" I was being curious.

"Camila." his voice was low, taking a deep breath before answering.

"You shouldn't be there last night and watched me turned into...I didn't even know what it is." he put his hands on his head. Gee. He was embarrassed with what happened last night and I was there to see it.

"It's okay. I get it. I'm very sorry." my eyebrows plunged into a sad frown.

"What are you sorry for?" he sounded confused.

"I know that you were drunk last night because of me. I wouldn't listen to you after what happened on that trip." I explained.

"I don't blame you because you have the right to do that. It's my fault. I've crossed the line and that was unacceptable." he spoke with convincing honesty.

"I'm so sorry for that." he added, couldn't look me in the eyes anymore.

A few minutes of silence was spent on thinking what I would say to him after he had apologised.

I could see it in his eyes that he was completely honest with me this time and I guess I would have to make him promise me that he wouldn't do anything like that again. I took a quick thought.

"You know what? I can forgive you but as long as you promised me not to do anything stupid like that ever again." I said, looking up into his mesmerising eyes.

"I'd promise you anything, Camila. Anything." he locked his eyes to mine, meaning every word.

This eye contact thing was a very awkward thing for me. His eyes were so different in moments like these, more soft than I knew his eyes could be. If it were anyone else I would drop my gaze, but with him I was drawn in closer, always wanting more. Okay. Time out! I need a distraction. Fast!

"I think what you did last night was chaotic." I looked the other way, changing the subject.

"You mean the house?" he lifted his eyebrows.

"Yea." I nodded.

"That was nothing."

"Nothing? Are you mad? What would your parents have to say about that?" I questioned but he seemed calmed. Strange!

"You smashed almost everything in the house also put some holes in the wall and you said that was nothing?" my eyes widened.

"My father is in England. I live with my mother and she didn't seem to care much. Every time when that thing happened, she would call someone to fix it and it'll be as good as new the day after. It's like it never happened before." he lifted his shoulders.

"That's sad. I suppose." I whispered but couldn't find the right words to describe it any further.

My father wasn't here too but my mother would never abandon me and my sister like that. She was always there for us no matter how busy she would be with her career.

"Anyway, where did you get my number?" I asked when the thought suddenly came through my mind.

"Oh, that. I..." he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.

"Yes?"

"I think you're gonna be pissed." he said.

"Why is that?" I was being pushy.

"Fine." he sighed.

I was on my way to class when I saw a familiar girl with a green hijab. I approached and greeted her. She turned to face me and it was her. Camila's friend. Derin is her name if I'm not mistaken.

"Hey." I said.

"Oh, you." she said, turning around to face me.

"You're Derin, right? Camila's friend?" I asked.

"And you're Justin. How may I help you?" she said sarcastically. Jesus! She's no better than me.

"I want Camila's number." I blurted.

"Excuse me. Is that a question?" she frowned.

"No. It's more like an order." I crossed my arms.

"Are you serious? No. I'm not gonna give my bestfriend's number to a stranger like you." she was being stubborn.

"So you think I'm a stranger?"

"Didn't doubt that."

"Okay. So you wanna play it this way?" I smirked, putting one hand on the wall and leaned closer towards her. Let's see how will you react to this.

"What are you doing?" she stepped back and bumped into her locker. She looked frightened already. Holy. It's working I guess.

"So?" I gazed at her.

"Alright! Fine! I'll give it to you." she raised both of her hands as a sign of surrender. Gotcha!

She looked through her phone and handed it over to me. I copied down her number into my phone and saved it. I gave her back her phone and walked away.

"Oh, thank you for your cooperation." I turned around to face her and smirked. She sighed and rolled her eyes at me.

"What?! So you blackmailed Derin to give you my phone number?" my eyes grew wider.

"I had no choice. She was as stubborn as you." he stuck his tongue out and I punched him on his upper arm.

"Awww. What was that for?" he asked, rubbing the sore spot where I punched him.

"For blackmailing my bestfriend."

"Jesus!" he rolled his eyes.
