《Vikings imagines》modern AU Ivar imagine

Ivar wasn't at home often the last few days. It was sad for you, he usually just came to eat and sleep and then had to go back to work immediately after.
It wasn't good, for you or your relationship, since it made you sad and stressed.
You were worked from home and Ivar had his family's firm to work in.
And you were perfectly happy like this, except for the fact that lately Ivar had a little too much on his plate, in your humble opinion.
You obviously told him that once he came home late and you had already gone to sleep, laying down beside you he had listened, agreed, apologized and pulled you into a hug to sleep.
The following few days hadn't been any different though and you nearly gave up the thought that you'd see Ivar to reasonable hours in the day ever again.
One morning you woke up to the usual hour with the smell of pancakes. By now Ivar should have already left, and the bed next to you was empty.
When you got up to look for what had woken you up you heard cluttering and aggressive curses coming from the direction of the kitchen.
You knew those sounds and a grin appeared on your face. It had to be Ivar. What was he still doing here?
Moving to the kitchen in your pyjamas you smiled as you saw Ivar hastily cleaning some dishes.
„Babe, what are you still doing here?!", you asked him and he grinned at you as he turned around. „I'm making pancakes, can't you see that?", he asked and you shook your head grinning. He always seemed so hotheaded and grumpy, but he didn't mean it most of the time. It had taken a while for you to find that out though.
„Yes, I see that, but I asked what you were still doing here. Aren't you supposed to be at work?", you asked him and smiled as you leaned on the kitchen isle to have a better look on him and stand more comfortably.

He nodded and moved some pancakes out of the pan and onto a plate.
„Yeah, but I took the day off", he answered and you honestly loved that answer.
„Because I've been working a lot lately, and didn't get to see you. Or do anything with you, really", he added as he raised an eyebrow and winked at you jokingly.
You shook your head at that. He was right, and you were happy that he was going to spend some time with you today.
„And what do you have planned for today?", you asked as you moved towards the plate of pancakes to break a piece off from one of them and put it in your mouth. Ivar hissed at you for it, but moved in to kiss your nose either way.
You smiled and watched him and just now realized that he wasn't wearing a shirt.
You were so used to the sight, but always appreciated it. Wearing only his grey sweatpants he rummaged through your fridge to find some maple sirup and jam to put on the table. It took a little while, since he wasn't as routined in looking through the fridge as you were. You cooked much more often than him though he also was an incredibly talented cook, but he just had less time than you did.
And he made much more of a mess. Chuckling you sat down at the table as Ivar roamed around to put everything in ist rightful place at the kitchen table.
He even thought of making you some tea, which was cute since he preferred coffee to get up early in the mornings.
„I have planned to keep you busy with doing nothing all day", he grinned that wicked grin of his and you weren't entirely sure what he meant by it, but you were on board.
Laughing you nodded as you took the pancake you had already tried and put it on your plate.

„Alright, sure", you grinned back at him and you began to eat.
The breakfast was much sweeter than what you usually had and you were entirely sure you had eaten too much, not that it mattered.
By noon you were sprawled out on the floor playing chess, which was risky business since Ivar told funny stories just to distract you. It wouldn't have mattered if he told the jokes or not, he would have won either way.
You kissed Ivar, it was the prize you had agreed on before the game and you did it gladly.
After a little, or rather not entirely little makeout session you agreed on cuddling and reading a book.
You suggested to read the hobbit, because it was one of your favorites, but since Ivar began to reenact the scenes with you still in his arms on the couch, doing voices you didn't read all that much, but you entirely loved it.
Once it had gotten rather late you pulled yourself up off the couch to go and make dinner, but it was a rather difficult task since Ivar kept on clinging onto you.
When you finally pulled free he pouted, but you just rolled your eyes and moved to the kitchen.
You could hear Ivar grumbling from his place on the couch as he got up to help.
He seemed happy, and that obviously added to your own happiness to make the entire day, though nothing had really happened until now, perfect.
You moved towards the recipe book stand to look for what Ivar had planned to make today when you felt his arms around you, pulling you into him tightly, so that your body was pressed against his and his head was in the crook of your neck, his mouth next to your ear. „I want kisses", he whispered and you felt his breath on your ear, and though hadn't meant what he had said in a sexual way you felt goosebumps surface on your arms and neck the way he had whispered those innocent words not being innocent at all.
You chuckled as you turned around to peck his lips.
„After we made dinner", you answered as you looked at him questioningly. „What are we making?", you asked, earning a grin from him.
You made pasta. It was simple, but fun and after Ivar ruined a whole package of pasta by being unable to open it and ripping it so the pasta flew everywhere you got through the process of cooking without burning the house down.
Ivar was a great cook, but he was still clumsy.
After finishing dinner and watching a sappy romance move, which Ivar hated on frequently, but in a joking manner, you were finally back in bed again, enjoying the aftertaste of the beautiful day.
You were laying on your side facing Ivar and cuddling into him with your eyes closed, trying to still your breathing and go to sleep.
You were still thinking about how lucky you were to have him and shortly before sleep enveloped you you heard him whisper something in your hair.
You weren't sure if he meant to tell it to you or if he thought you were already asleep, but the last thing you heard before black enveloped you was that you had no idea how happy you made him.

The Intelligent Ogre (Dropped for remake)
This novel is having a remake I will have it up soon. I decided to have a remake because when I read my story again it felt like I tried too hard to make it understandable (low English level) for all yet it just looked bad. So, I decided to start over and add a new beginning, characters descriptions, etc. Even the plot and system I made was changed. I hope to see you there.
