《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Halfdan: Woman in power

You clamped your fingers around the tent, looking into the desert with no ending while three men on there knees talked a language you didn't understand. Your eyes drifted to Halfdan and Björn, both with their backs to you as they tried to understand the situation. It was simple, the man they needed to guard was gone and now ... you squeezed your eyes shut as they got beheaded. Your mouth dried out, looking to the long browned haired woman throwing a look at the both Halfdan and Björn. There was something about that woman, being one yourself made you realize that. A man always acted in violence a woman ... you shouldn't have come, like Halfdan told you. When you looked over to him he looked to you and you turned your back, walking inside the tent, knowing that you probably wouldn't make it through the next week because that was what woman did, they were devious, manipulative and you needed to get your head in the game, level yourself with her if you wanted Halfdan to live.
You laid down between the many colorful pillows when he walked in, searching for you. You turned your dagger and pushed it into the ground, looking up to him.
'It's her, we need to get out of here.' You started. Halfdan looked to the entrance of the tent before he dropped down beside you. 'She is gonna kill us, sooner or later.'
'She is woman.'
'What are you saying with that?' You asked sharply. Halfdan breathed in, lifting his hand while his knuckles stroke your jaw.
'I'm saying their women don't act like our women do.' He explained. Maybe you were afraid ... in this unknown land, with those unknown people. You looked away from him but he grabbed your face gently and forced your to look back into his dark eyes. 'I won't let anybody hurt you, you are safe with me.' He promised. You pulled your head slowly away from his touch and his hand dropped down.

'I'm here for your safety, you are here to protect another, you failed, now I need to keep you alive.' You pulled your dagger out, pointing it's sharpness to him. You wanted to get up but he grabbed you with your wrist, pulling you down.
'Y/n,' he grabbed your throat in your protest, pushing you down into the pillow. 'After everything we've been through, you still don't think that I love you?'He asked, scouting your face with his dark eyes. You looked up to him, shaking your head.
'I see how you look,'
'I look more to you. The only reason I look at her is because I see there is more to her then,'
'Then what?' You challenged him.
'Her beauty.' He muttered, stroking his fingers away from your throat. He lowered his head and you willingly let him, feeling his warmth as he kissed you so delicate. It was when he did things like that you knew he loved you, truly loved you. 'Let me protect you.' He whispered, a nose scouring over you cheek as he pressed his lips in your neck. You signed, feeling the strands of his blond hair as you pushed your fingers through it.
'I will get you out of here.' You promised, the internal conflict between the two of you, protecting each other.
Like you predicted it was her. Now you all sat here forced on your knees ready to embrace your death. You looked to the sand storm, you looked to her, and him, to Halfdan and Björn. Halfdan gave you a look that made you swallow, the look like he embraced his death already. She understatement you, though you weren't a fighter, you were just a slave. She should know better. You grabbed for the dagger, throwing it right into her chest, you smiled, feeling a little impowered in the moment of her body dropping down. Halfdan and Björn saw it as a change to get away while the sand storm hit that camp like Thor would hit a village. A hand reached out for you and Halfdan pulled you at his side.

'You really had to do that?' He yelled, wrestling with the storm.
'At least I achieved something on this journey.' You answered, hiding behind one of the camels while looking aside to him. And there was that look, a look of desire and you softly smiled.

Cheaters Always Win
Chester Everheart knew that life wasn't fair. Some were born in situations where it was almost impossible to succeed, whereas others were born with a silver spoon with everything at their disposal. A scant few were dropped into another world, filled with monsters and magic and forced to fend for themselves. The latter was a rare, somewhat ridiculous trope; but it happened to him anyway. Despite this he followed a motto that applied regardless of the dimension he was in. Playing fair is for suckers, and cheaters always win. Cheaters Always Win is a comedy-adventure that I've had churning in my head for a couple years now. I'd like to think it still has the charm that most LitRPGs have while also being unique in its own way. Every arc of the story will subsequently have a 'Level Complete' chapter that details all the stats, levels, equipment, etc. gained by the main cast of characters.
