《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Marco Ilso: Meeting the crew

You lived alone, in a cute little apartment with no possibility on visitors this early on a Saturday morning ... but the fact you smelled coffee, which was that special coffee you so much liked waked you up carefully, not moving while your eyes got used to the light in the room. It was until weight came down on the mattress that you spooked and in defense turned around under your cozy warm blankets.
'Marco!' You breathed out when you saw his face. He chuckled and you tried to kick him away from your bed. 'You almost gave me a heart attack, what are you doing here?' You asked him angry.
'You mad?' He asked, his face amused about his secret visit so early on the day.
'You invaded my home!'
'You gave me a key.' He went in defense, placing his hands aside your head in the mattress.
'Still,'
'I brought you your favorite coffee.' He nodded towards the nightstand. You followed his eyes and stopped pouting, looking back up to him.
'You gonna do that every morning from now on?' You asked with a little smile, wrapping your arm around his neck while pulling him closer. He started some mumbling but it got lost in the kiss you gave him. Despite he scared the shit out of you, you couldn't say this was really unpleasant. He snuggled his nose in the crook of your neck and you started to giggle. 'You know how to wake up a girl Marco.'
'I know how to wake up my girl.' He corrected you, biting your teasingly under your ear before he pulled away and reached over to your coffee. You sat up a little and took it over for him.
'Thank you, I still own an explanation for this.'

'Does there has to be one?' He asked you innocent. He turned his body, resting his head in your lap while you sipped from the coffee.
'With guys always.' You stated. It was true, they always wanted something, if it wasn't sex than it had to be something else. And while you drank carefully you saw him looking with that little pulled up smile that you so much loved. 'Spill.' You grinned amused, strangling your fingers through his hair, not even caring if you messed it up.
'You know I love to keep you all to myself but Jordan is organizing a barbeque for all of us and I want you to meet the guys.' He explained. You rested the coffee in your hand on the bed and bite your lip.
'Jordan as in Jordan Jordan, Ubbe?'
'That Jordan. Do you know another Jordan I don't know about?' He asked in a fake suspicion.
'No. But for real, I will be the newbie is that whole crew. I hate to be in the middle of the attention.' You explained unsure.
'I will protect you, you know that I love to do nothing else.'
'I know.'
'So yes?'
'Because you woke me up so nicely.' You muttered, he smirked charming, pulling out his mobile to send a text. Great, you would meet a bunch of guys you really never met before. You knew them, in a certain way, from his stories and the Vikings series itself but not more than that.
He drove his jeep in to a driveway and you got nervous. Holding a bottle of wine out of courtesy you were a little afraid you would drop it. Marco stepped out, jogging his way around to open the door for you and you smiled a little because he was such a gentlemen the whole day.

'Don't be nervous.' He reassured you. You jumped out, what wasn't all that elegant with the short dress and looked up to the big house.
'What if they don't like you.'
'What isn't there to like, you're funny, kind, way to gorgeous.' He pulled you in and you caved under the lovely kiss he gave you. 'And I love you.' He promised and in a way you felt a little better. He strangled his fingers through yours and leaded you to the back of the house where a bunch of people were hanging around.
'There he is!' A man announced.
'And he brought Y/n! Finally.' Another announced excited, shooting a ball the other way before jumping over a bunch of flowers, walking your way.
'How much did you told them about me?' You whispered.
'He doesn't stop talking.' The one from the ball said with a friendly smile.
'Y/n, Alex.' Marco introduced you. And now you started to connect faces to the series, Alex as in Ivar and the man who followed looked like Ubbe.
'Jordan.' He introduced himself.
'Thank you for having me.' You smiled friendly.
'Friends of Marco are friends of us.'
'Pretty friend.' Alex replied taunting.
'So totally not your jurisdiction mate.' Marco defensed you with a amused grin. Jordan rolled his eyes and you followed as they introduced the other persons. There was Ida, Alexander, even Katheryn was there. You loosened up a little after a cocktail and the constant defenses of Marco. His hand laid just above your knee, fingers stroking your bare skin as he was in a conversation which his partner in crime, Alex Hogh.
'How did you meet him Y/n?' Alex asked curious.
'He never told?' You asked with a little smile.
'No, so it has to be quite the story if Marco doesn't tell.' He chuckled. Marco looked aside to you and you bite your lip, being all innocent, giving him that – I will make it up to you – look.
'He ran me over with his car.' You spilled. Everybody was silent, looking between you and Marco.
'She is exaggerating.' Marco chuckled.
'I did needed to go to the hospital.'
'That isn't exaggerating, you ran over your girlfriend?' Alex asked half out of breath before he started laughing and everybody followed. Marco hide his head in his hand and you looked aside to him.
'I stop defensing you from now on.' He smiled to you. You leaned over and placed a kiss on his cheek, he squeezed your leg softly before pointing his attention to the others again. 'It was dark, she was running over for a dog, I think.'
'A cat.' You corrected him.
'A cat, it when way to fast.'
'He wasn't driving that fast, just some bruises and a plaster around my wrist.' You defensed him on the matter.
'Story of the year, Marco ran down his girlfriend.' Jordan chuckled, looking at you with a bright smile.
'Did you found the cat, or was it the dog?' Alex teased his best friend. Marco took Katheryn her glass of water and threw it over to him and before you even had a change to hide they all started a water fight.

This is a story of two old men trying to free from the shackle of their destiny set in a future only to await their impending doom. This is a story of a dead god, and of a storyteller, trying to break from the bonds of the past. And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
