《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Halfdan: Tending wounds and marriages

Battle wasn't a nice place to be, certainly not after it. You went with Helga because she was your friend and because they could need the extra pair of hands. There weren't that much healers as there were fighters, you just so happened to be an excellent healer. But seeing all that violence, it was a little adapting for you. Off course, the one came, the other goes, the gods blessed the group with a victory and you knew that as soon as you heard that balder that the battle was won. Helga gave you a smile when the first man asked for your help, it was only a cut but what you saw coming other than that promises to be a long night.
'Can you sit, please?' You asked Halfdan for he was already prepping himself for the next thing to come. You didn't understood why loyalty could go so far. He was forgetting his own wounded body to ready himself again to join his brother. Giving the wounds that he had, he needed treatment. And with a look over his own body he sat down without further complaining. You helped him out of a part of his clothes, biting your lip when you saw the massive cut on his shoulder. 'You know Halfdan,' you started while pulling a bucket water at your side to clean the wound. 'a wife exist not only to bare children and to cook, they also exist to support their husband, to take care for him, if he is wounded for example.' You felt silent, carefully cleaning out that wound. 'They don't need to sit home, they need to follow their husband, take care of him, that is what being a wife is all about.' You lectured him on a calm tone, although it wasn't really lecturing, you should lecture his wife.

'What are you saying Y/n?' He asked after a little silence. You walked around him to grab a bandage, when you turned back he was looking at you.
'That you need her by you side.' You shrugged like it was no big deal.
'Is that you saying I should ask you to marry me?' He followed. He looked a little confused and on that he made you a little confused.
'What no, Halfdan, I'm not gonna marry you, certainly not gonna share you. Your wife would kill me.' You muttered more for your own than for him, fixing that bandage before another man started tugging your dress. 'You're good to go.' You petted Halfdan on his shoulder before following the other man.
This was so much, all those wounded men, some dying on the ground. You were looking at Halfdan, the ways he tried to ignore his painful shoulder to just follow his brother everywhere. 'Where is she in all of this?' You asked Helga. She followed your gaze to Halfdan.
'Who?'
'His wife?' You asked. Helga frowned her eyebrows and looked up.
'He doesn't has a wife.' She clarified. You felt your cheeks turn red on that statement, understand why he was so confused earlier when you were lecturing him about wives. Like it wasn't enough Halfdan looked at you and you just turned around, facing a tree, almost smashing your head against in for you were just so stupid.
'Y/n.' You swallowed while turning slowly around, looking up, embarrassed.
'Halfdan.' You whispered. He saw your expressions and chuckled a little amused.
'Figured it out I don't have a wife?' He asked.
'I'm sorry. It wasn't my place to begin with.' You murmured, looking down. He laid he his hand at the side of your neck, pushing your chin up with his thumb.

'You had a point in all of that lecturing. I need to find myself a wife.' He began. You swallowed, gazing into his dark eyes. 'Somebody like,' his finger stroke your chin over your throat. 'you. What do you think?'
'Seriously? Halfdan, I,' you lost your words for he pressed his lips on yours. You took a breath, holding on to his blooded armor. He tasted ... so good? So soft underneath all that ruthlessness.
'What do you say?' He asked against your lips. You opened your eyes, nodding softly before tasting his lips again.

Maker Of Power
Reality turns Legend. Legend turns Myth. And Myth vanishes over time. But not these Myths. Not this Legends. Not this Reality. No. These are stories that everyone knows. Stories sang time and time again. Tales of magic powerful enough to rival whole kingdoms. And the people that wield that magic. Everyone knows them. The tale of Velacinir, the Great. The song of Alek, the Skilful. The Legend of Waner, the Lost Smith. The Myth of Kaveli, the Unifier. All people know these things. These Storys, Legends, Myths, Tales, Songs. And mostly everyone thinks they never happened. But they did. And I was part of them. All of them. I was there. I might not have been the one to kill the dragon. The one that found the skill of resurrection. The one that fought whole armies for their family. I might have not been those people but I was there. Because although I may have not done those things, the people that did it weren't created from night to day. They did not just appear. They were taught like everyone else. They were just better at the things that people taught them. That I taught them. Yes. I am not the one that songs are being written about. I may not be the one whose legends perdures even until today. But one thing I am. I am their teacher, their instructor. I am the one that made them what they became. I am... Who am I? I had many names through the ages, but there was one that stuck to me the most. I am the Maker of Power. But like the ones that I thought. I was also a normal person before everything that happened. And this is how it all happened. This is MY Story. MY Legend. MY Myth. MY Song and MY Tale. This is MY beginning. And YOU SHALL LEARN IT. ------------------- Release schedule: Nonexistent.
