《Never in a Million Years ✔️》69-I'm great, why?

"Wake up! We have a fun day planned!" I wake up with none other than fucking Jordan literally jumping on me.
A 6'2" 175lbs of muscle having teenage boy jumping on you does not feel good.
"Ow. Jordan." I grunt, as I push him off me "You bitch,"
"Let's go, I have a surprise!" He yells again.
I crack my eyes open again as I sit up. Caleb was sitting on the lounge chair beside my bed, looking just as rough as I probably had.
"Do you know what this is about?"
"No fucking clue" he grunts
"Stop being bitches and go look at what I threw in your suit cases" Jordan orders and we both roll our eyes. Co walks out of the room to theirs across the hall and I unzip my suitcase.
"Should be in the back left corner at the bottom" Jordan tells me and I look exactly where he said. Laying there was just my Cubs jersey. How did I not see this?
"Jordy, it's just my Baez jersey," I say pulling it out to look at it. Caleb comes in too, holding the Cubs t-shirt that is gotten him for Christmas as a joke.
"Turn around dumbass" Jordan sighs, but as I do so, he's wearing a wide grin on his face and he's holding a ticket.
"Jordan you didn't" I look at him as tears instantly sprung my eyes. I almost forgot it was opening weekend for the Cubs, the were versing the Brewers.
"Oh but I did" he smirks at me, opening his arms "I think I deserve one"
I practically jump into my best friends arms, giving him a hug as he just laughs "They're bleacher tickets too, I thought, since we're gonna be here, why not." he grins
"Jordan this is amazing!" I screech, taking one of the tickets form his hand "Oh my god this is going to be such a fun game, you guys have never been to a game like this, like 'Stros games are fun but there's nothing like a fuckin Cubs game!"
"I threw your World Series hat in there too, thought you might want it," he smiles, I hear my mom laughing behind us, with her phone in her hands
"Did you know about this?" I question not caring that she was recording me in my ugly state right now
"He bought the tickets like right after St.Patrick's day" she laughs
"Oh my god I love you so much!" I grin at my best friend "We're really going to a Cubs game today?"
"Yep! You can go back to sleep now" He laughs. The game wasn't until six today so we didn't have to be there till five meaning I didn't have to get ready until 3:30ish. I had five hours.
"Well now she's gonna be too excited to sleep" Caleb grins, doing the guy hug with Jordan "Thanks dude"
"Don't thank me yet Kazer" I watch as Jordan smirks at him before glancing at me
"Why?"
"You'll see" he shrugs before walking out of our room
"You have no idea either?" Caleb just looks at me, but I shake my head
"Nope" I shrug
"Great" he huffs before walking out after our best friend
Oh my god, I'm actually going to a Cubs game.
————————————
I was beyond excited right now. The three of us were walking down Addison street to the field.
If I had to live anywhere is the city, it would without a doubt be wrigleyville, everyone here was so unbelievably nice and there was always so much to do.

"You haven't lost that smile of yours since we left the hotel" Jordan grins at me
"This morning actually" Caleb snorts
I knew they were both excited too, even if they basically hated all Chicago teams. I'd been to countless games before, but my excitement never once faltered. It was like I was going to my first game, every game.
"I'm telling you guys, this is one of the best places to be for a game, well besides like Fenway. Fenway is definitely the best fields in the country," I start to ramble on. I didn't like watching games on tv all that much, the only times I would really ever watch was when I was beyond bored and there was nothing on or we were having a party. But actually being at a game was a whole different story. You meet so many people here, that you don't even know, but for those few hours we're there, we all become unified I guess, all for one reason and that's baseball. Its like other sports or concerts or whatever, regardless of what else is going on in our lives, all we care about is what's right in front of us and that's all that matters.
"LOOK THERES THE FIELD!" I yell just as I see the famous marquee outside of Wrigley. One of the most iconic signs might I add. "c'mon let's get a picture" I yell at the two before asking a woman to take our picture.
"Here you go," she just grins holding my phone. It was a cute picture of us three with the marquee in the background. Well I looked fine, the other two, who can't take a nice picture to save their lives, were deforming their faces and flipping the camera off behind me.
"Can you two ever take a nice picture?" I grin; looking up at them
"Nope" They respond
"Okay let's go" I grin, pulling both of them behind me
"Wait," I feel Jordan stop behind me "So we have a small situation"
"Jordan I swear to god, if you say you forgot-"
"I forgot my ticket"
"Did you drop it?" Caleb questions asked Jordan starts to feel all of his pockets
"No, I am almost one hundred percent positive that I left mine in the room" He states looking back at Caleb and I "Okay it's fine, we still got and hour till the game starts, you guys go in get good spots in the bleachers and I'll meet you guys there" he says as if he already had this situation thought out.
"But-"
"Bails go," he states giving me a pointed look "I'll be right back."
"Fine"
Great now I was stuck with Caleb, alone. This whole trip, Jordan's been the buffer between us, and now he's not going to be here.
"Okay let's go" I say to Caleb as we wave back to Jordan.
The stadium was packed, like literally people were everywhere. Most were wearing Cub jerseys, but there were some with the Brewers on but that's expected. It was only a few hours from here to Milwaukee.
"Okay follow me," I tell Co, trying my best to act normal.
"You lead the way," he grins following me. I was on a mission to get straight to my favorite bleacher spot. It was on the right field side of the bleachers, but it was right center. It's where a lot of runs are hit, I have yet to get one but I'm determine to today.
I'm so focused on getting there that I don't even notice the giant guy about to spill his beer on me before I'm yanked back by Caleb, my back bumping into his chest as he wraps his arm around my waist, almost like it was instinctive.

"I am so sorry," The guy slurs and Caleb drops his arm from around me. My skin was still warm from where it was. I'd missed him holding me like that, even if it was an accident.
"It's fine" I smile politely. I can't even count the amount of drunk people who've almost spilled beer on me at one of these games, it was normal really.
"Hey, thanks for that," I say, now walking besides Co as we get closer to the stairs right by my spot
"No problem" He shrugs "Now where are we going?"
"My favorite spot" I can't help but grin
"You have a spot?" He raises a brow looking down at me, an amused smile evident on his face
"Yep" I laugh "Students got discounts on tickets, I can't tell you how many games we went to last year"
"Hmm" He just mumbles as he follows me down the concrete stairs right to an open spot in the bleachers. There was still another forty five minutes or so until the game started, though it was already pretty packed. We got the third bleacher right-center field though, which was possibly the best area to sit.
More people began to flow in and both teams continued to warm up almost until the first pitch is being thrown and still no Jordan.
"He'll be here" Caleb mumbles after seeing the look on my face
"I'm gonna text him" I say pulling my phone out of my pocket,
[]
Hey where are you? you okay?
[💩]
Yeah I'm great? Why?
[]
Are you coming back...???
I swear to god if he's doing what I think he is, he's going to die later tonight.
All he send back is a picture of him, my mom, Sage and her family, Ash, her sister and her mom. All smiling and giving a thumbs up.
[💩]
Have fun at the game!!💕
[]
I fucking hate you 🖕
"So he's not coming" I huff
That bitch set us up.
"You're kidding right now" Caleb deadpans looking at me, I just nod looking back at the field before showing him the picture on my phone "That sneaky bitch,"
"Yep" I huff looking back to the field where they were lining up for the anthem. Caleb and I both stand as they introduce the singer
"Agree to beat the piss out of him as soon as we get back?" He questions
"Definitely"
It wasnt until I hear the special guest of the day announce 'Play Ball!' And the first ball is thrown that I realize that even with Jordan pulling his normal headassery, the smile in my face hasn't faltered.
"Hey, is this area open?" A girl, looking to be probably in her twenties questions for the spot beside me
"Nope, not anymore, go ahead" I grin as she sits beside me along with another girl and guy on her left
"Hey we got two extras, our other two friends ditched us for the bar, you want them?" The red-headed girl grins holding out two of the souvenir cups for Co and I.
"Oh-uh-we aren't-" I start to say before Caleb cuts in, taking both ofhh by them
"Sure, thanks" He grins, handing the one beer to me as he takes a sip from his "What? We came here to have fun, and even if we are stuck together, I say we forget everything that's happened between us the last three month and just go back to how we were as friends. At least for the time being, I hate this awkward shit,"
I was actually kind of stunned by this. We barely talk and now he says all of this?
"Know what?" I huff "Yeah. Please."
"Please?" He chuckles "So we got a deal?"
"Oh god yeah, this awkward shit was killing me" I say, and he actually smiles at me.
"Oh thank god" he breaths out loudly
"Did I just witness a reunion or something cause that was literally the cutest shit I've ever seen" The other girl along with the red-head 'awed' at the two of us "See I told you cubs games are magical" the brunette tell the other girl
"Oh and we aren't twenty-one either if that's what you were going to say" the red-headed girls laughs, ignoring her friend "Our friends however, like the one lumberjack looking dude over there, are so he gets the wrist band for us"
"Oh that's awesome" I grin at her
"You guys aren't from around here are you?" The brunette grins
"What gave it away?" Caleb questions, a grin already evident in his face.
"The cute ass southern accents you two have" the redhead grins "I'm Kimmie by the way, and this is Ella and then the lumberjack is her brother, Brian"
"Hey" I smile at them "I'm Belle and this is Caleb"
"So where are you guys from?" Brian question, looking over the two girls
"Sourthern Texas," Caleb says, taking a sip of his beer.
"Damn and you came all the way up here in March? Why the hell would you do that? It's freezing" Ella snorts. I mean she wasn't wrong, it was pretty cold yesterday, but today was honestly the perfect baseball day. I guess that just Illinois weather for you.
"Well he had a meeting with a coach for football , and I have this thing at A college tomorrow" I shrug, Caleb hated mentioning that he was in the draft, he didn't want to seem like he was showing off or anything which I thought was always stupid as hell.
"Oh who are you meeting with?" The guy, Brian asks
"I met with Nagy" He says hesitantly
"As in Matt Nagy? Head of the Chicago fuckin Bears?" Ella questions, her eyes going wide, mirroring Brian's. They looked a lot alike, I could definitely see how they were related.
"Yeah" Caleb just nods before looking back at the field "My friend and I both did,"
"He hates talking about it but I don't, they have a possibility of being drafted" I laughs as their faces turn to pure shock
"Really?!"
"Yeah, it's a low possibility though, I mean, I just turned eighteen so it's not a high chance" he shrugs.
"Still awesome" Kimmie grins looking back at the game "OH HE'S UP" they'd gotten out of the bottom of the first quickly, and Cubbies were up to bat.
"Bryant's your favorite?" I question
"Oh yeah, she's a Rizzo girl though" She gestures to Ella "Bryant's a badass though, he's a giant too, literally the perfect third baseman"
"Nah Rizz is better, he has one of the best batting averages on the team" Ella chimes
"Baez is where it's at," I smirk "Not only does he have the bats, but he also has that mid-field locked down"
"Very true" Brian nods along before Ella speaks up, instantly starting an argument with Brian. Us three all turn our attention back to the game.
It was the perfect day for a baseball game, it was pretty warm for March and it was clear skies.
Throughout the stadium the crack of Bryant's bat is heard and in seconds everyone is up on their feet watching the ball soar right into left field.
"AND THEY'RE UP BY ONE!" I yell as Kimmie throws her arm around my shoulders. Her Ella and I all jump, high giving everyone around us. If the stadium wasn't awake before, it sure as hell was now. This was gonna be a good ass game.
