《The Shinto Gods Series: The Imperial Seal(On Hiatus)》7-What do you know? My cousin is a shape-shifter too

People would pay millions just to see me, the perfect model, look like a college student oversleeping because of finals while drool is just literally all over your face while your hair is a mess.

Well, I am that. Minus the drool part.

All I could feel was a soft bed. And I mean really soft that I never want to get up. But sadly, the smell of something delicious invaded my nostrils. Oh, the smell was so delectable, it was like the ambrosia of the mortals.

Bacon.

Oh, that sweet, savory scent woke me up with a start. I moved my hair out of my eyes and what I saw were an ethnic group of people. One was a Chinese teen with black hair that seemed to grow out of its buzz-cut. A dark-skinned girl with golden eyes and curly brown hair held a small, shiny... thing. And there was a teen around 19-years old with carefully wrapped bandages around his torso. He had dark brown hair that seemed to be wet with brown eyes and a noticeable stubble growing across his jawline.

"Afternoon, Dragon Lady." The teen with the bandages said. "I should thank you for saving my life as well as the others. But since you've had the Potsmans with you instead of them being on sentry today, you're not going anywhere 'til we get some answers from you."

A waterfall of thoughts flowed in my mind but the only thing that came out of me was: "Where's the bacon?"

He blinked, the Chinese one raised a brow while the girl stifled a laugh. He pointed at the bedside table where a plate of eggs sunny side-up, bacon strips, and a side part of diced carrots and corn. Forgetting my dignity, I scarfed down the breakfast.

"While you're uh, doing that, you still have to answer our questions." He said. "One, what did the Potsman's do?"

I gulped down the eggs. "They saved me from some monsters. If you call them that."

He nodded. "Second, who is your godly parent?"

I finished the last strip of bacon. "I don't know."

He narrowed his eyes. "Are you related to Frank Zhang?"

When I finished my meal I glared at the guy. "Look, I just got stabbed in the gut by a rebar, my arm broke by an obsessed fan, and a sun-burnt giant punching me in the face. Did you really expect me to answer all your questions when all I did was doing nothing?"

And it was true that I had done nothing. I didn't kill Shelly, the twins did. I didn't burn that oni, the fox's powers did it. I, myself, only acted as a puppet.

The bandaged guy stood up abruptly. "Listen here, Dragon Lady. I didn't provide you bed and breakfast, the younger Potsman did. And this isn't some 5-star hotel where you can just waltz in here like the snooty model you are."

"And I didn't come here for your trash talk. I only came here to escort your friends back here."

"Then maybe it would be better if you just left."

"Harrison, calm down." The Chinese guy stated in an authoritative tone. Harrison calmed down but he left the building.

"Is he always this uptight?" I asked them.

"He's a son of Mars and a part of the Second Cohort. Of course he can be uptight if he wanted to." The dark-skinned girl said. "I'm Hazel. This is Frank. One of the two Praetors in Camp Jupiter."

"I hope that you are a much better talker than that guy." I said to Frank.

He scratched his chin meekly. "I... Well-I am." He cleared his throat. "Fujiwara Kasumi," He said my name in Romaji. "I am Frank Zhang. Second Praetor of Camp Jupiter. I know that this may be too fast for you to comprehend but we have suspicions that you are a demigod and you fought a monster that wounded two of our soldiers."

I wet my lips. "Okay. Continue."

"We've contacted your agent that you've had a 'surprise' photo-shoot with a client so you don't have to worry about her."

I blinked. I was surprised that they convinced Loraine out of all people.

"And I'm guessing... What, am I gonna be in court or something like that?"

"In a way, yes. From the Potsman's, they said you turned into a dragon." Frank rubbed his hands, as if he had known that ability already. "And we don't know any god that can turn into, or has any relation to dragons. Unless your a Greek in which we've already contacted Camp Half-blood-"

"Okay, okay, stop. Stop. Stop, stop, stop." I waved my hands dismissively. "Let me get this straight: I'm a demigod, but none of you know who is my godly parent. And you're also telling me there's another camp like this?"

"Um, yes." Hazel said. "I'm surprised you're taking this... Really well."

I shrugged. "A model has to adapt in the clothing that they're given. Especially weird ones."

Hazel continued to stare at me, her golden eyes making me shiver inside. They almost seemed like melted gold. I rubbed my stomach at where the rebars stabbed. Inside, I was thanking to whomever god I'm from that it was gone.

"I'll leave you two alone to talk. I'll meet you in the shrine." Hazel gave Frank a reassuring squeeze in the hand and left. Frank stared at her retreating form with a noticeable dopey smile on his face.

I grinned. "You like her." I sang.

Frank blushed immediately "W-We are dating..."

I squealed in delight. Hey, I can't help that I want to ship people. "Kidding aside, what else did you want to talk about?"

"Your power. It's-" He held up his arm, the hairs on it grew longer and shaggier as his fingers retracted back. Soon his arm turned into that of a bear.

"We have similar powers in a way."

I continued to stare at his arm. "So I come from a line of shape-shifters, huh? Cool. I always wanted to be Ms. Peregrine."
