《The Shinto Gods Series: The Imperial Seal(On Hiatus)》3-Don't Trust Store Clerks. They are Plotting to Kill You

She remembered she starred in a photo shoot about fire safety.
It was for the kids who were starting to learn about fire safety. She would pose as a firefighter and the special effects staff would add flames to her and the background.
This didn't felt like special effects.
Blue flames covered her vision as something took over her body and started running. She felt pavement crack under her fist and felt leather in her right hand. She started running, hearing the screams of people fleeing from her path. Her body didn't feel any burning, both from the running and the flames.
"You know, when you bathed me I thought you would be smarter." She heard the same voice spoke. "Few people can see me. That's why I thought you were a demigod set out to kill me. But I sensed you were different. You are half-blood but only... Different."
"What are you talking about?" Kasumi spoke shakily, almost feeling her legs would give out.
"You should actually be thanking me. If it wasn't for me, your identity would have been revealed to them." Kasumi used every bit of her will to try and at least slow down but she underestimated her strength. She completely stopped, heart thumping erratically and her legs almost giving out. "Hmph. So you're a fighter, huh." The flames started to clear from her vision. In her hand was a black leather bag in which blue flames erupted from her hand. She tried to scream but her voice seemed to be trapped in her throat. The leather burned away to reveal a camera and some expensive lens falling down. Her possessed leg crushed the lens and proceeded to crush the camera before Kasumi stopped herself.
"Talk." Kasumi demanded. "What are you? Who are they? Why are you so intent in crushing this camera?"

"You really are a lost cause, aren't you? You are a demigod. A powerful demigod, at that. That's the reason why you can see me, why I'm possessing you as a whole, why you are hunted down."
Her head throbbed with a migraine. Various visions swarmed her mind like you were surfing through the Internet, no time to stop and glance properly. She shifted her foot away from the camera so she could stand properly. Clutching her head, almost clawing her hair out, she stretched her arm out and burned the nearest thing closest to her. The screams of the people didn't even come close to the horrid ringing inside her ears.
A swift kick to the stomach grabbed her attention back to reality.
She flew backwards and skidded across the ground, the blue flames wavering. The visions were gone but the ringing didn't stop. She felt her body being crushed on the ground by a strong foot. Just what is it with people kicking her in the stomach?
"Accursed demigod. Accursed yokai! You never cease to cause mischief wherever you go, especially to me!" Kasumi heard a shrill voice. She felt the air inside her being pushed out more when the person applied more force on their foot. Using the same technique, she flicked her wrist then flames covered her assailant. She screeched in pain and staggered away from Kasumi. She wheezed in pain and shakily stood up.
"I don't know I-you did it, but... That was actually kinda cool." Kasumi admitted to the spirit possessing her.
"Don't thank me yet." She heard her in her mind. "Yokai like me are weak against those yokai who are faithful to their kami." Kasumi felt her limbs move on their own into a fighting stance. "At this point, shikome, like her are a real sore. But she is a weak one. You're pathetic human limbs can do you well."

Kasumi was about to come up with a snarky reply until a shrill scream caught her attention. On instinct, she blocked the punch with her arms. It would've hurt for any other person but with the state she's in, it felt like a hard bump on a cushion. She looked up to see the last person she wanted to see at a time like this.
"Shelly?!" The black-haired store clerk wobbled due to the flames, but the murderous glare she was giving was stuck to her face. She ran, hands turned into black, elongated claws and slashed at Kasumi. With sharp reflexes, she sidestepped to the left, leaving three parallel lines on the right side of her shirt. Her arms moving on her own, she punched her at her side. Shelly grunted but grabbed her arm and backflips her so that she was eating the ground. Kasumi's arm awkwardly bent while Shelly had it in a vice-like grip.
"Oh, you should see the state you're in." Kasumi can practically feel her sneer. "Nine tails, ears, and blue flames consuming you." Shelly cackled. "Wait till he hears about this!"
"Before you go all... Psycho on me..." Kasumi coughed up dirt. "Who is 'he'? What are you and what do you know about this?" She shook her head, emphasizing on herself. She bit back a scream when Shelly bent her arm.
"Hmm... I know they didn't said to but..." She drawled out, applying more pressure onto her grip. "Maybe I ought to entertain myself for the time being until they get here!" She slammed her foot onto Kasumi's back and twisted her arm. It was enough to make the possessed girl bite the inside of her cheek and draw blood, not giving in to Shelly's demands.
"Either you are incredibly brave or just exceptionally foolish. Even I have a hard time with this." The flames fell weaker. "Sorry, demigod. But I can't hold out for long." Kasumi wanted to yell at the fox, but all she could muster was a choked gasp.
She heard Shelly's shrill laugh. "What was that? Did your little pet went to hit the bucket already? Aww... That just takes the fun out of it!" She applied more pressure to her foot, making her choke blood. "A little bit of your blood and I'll be brimming in kaikishōhō!"
She gasped and the grip and weight on Kasumi was gone. She coughed up the blood and stood up but managed to fall down again. She looked at her arm and almost hurled at the sight. Her arm was marked with violent purple marks as the whole arm was swollen. It was a miracle how it wasn't torn in half.
She looked back at Shelly, who has an arrow stuck to her side, sand coming out of the wound. She turned her head to Kasumi, giving her another death glare, but she felt like it wasn't directed to her. Her body then ducked as another arrow pierced through Shelly. This time in the head, finally making her turn into dust, the two arrows falling on the ground.
"I thought you went away." She whispered to herself.
"And leave you miserably tortured by her? You are lucky that I am being generous today." Kasumi couldn't help but grin at the spirit's coyness. She stood up and gently gripped her arm. She froze when she felt cool metal at her throat.
"Don't move. I will chop off your head."
