《Fixing the Broken Billionaire [DISCONTINUED]》Chapter 10 (Aurora)

"So that person your texting is more important than me." Alex said. I turned towards him and put my phone behind my jean pocket. He began to sit up on the bed, but he still looked sleepy. The rag had fallen off his head. I was about to speak, but he interrupted me and said, "Shouldn't you be making sure that I was okay. I'm the one that is sick." Mr. Mills, or as he likes to be called Alex, was acting like a child. It was like he wanted all of my attention on him. I may need to find a new job I thought to myself. He reached out and grabbed my hand and my hand was held between his in a tight grip like he wouldn't be able to let go.
"Mr. Mills you really need to rest." I said as I pushed him onto the bed.
"Don't you remember our deal. You said you wouldn't leave me." He said in a sickly hurt voice. He sounded adorable I thought. Woah I really needed to snap out of it. A deal is a deal though.
"Okay fine I will take care of you until you get better." I said. I felt ashamed because this might take the whole day and Sarah wouldn't be too happy about this. I put rag back into the water and wiped the sweat on his face. His eyes were closed as if he were enjoying every moment. I waited on the bed until Alex fell asleep. After 10 minutes, I heard his soft snores and I got up to leave the room." I closed the door behind me and spotted one of the maids. She had short straight black hair that was in a ponytail and dark brown eyes. She looked like a sweet girl and about my height. This girl's skin was tan compared to my pale skin. I hated my pale skin. "Do you mind guiding me to the kitchen." I said.

"Why yes ma'am." She said and looked down as if scared she would say the wrong thing.
"Oh you can just call me Aurora and your name is?" I said with a smile on my face.
The maid looked up to me with a smile now on her face and said, "oh okay. My name is Maria."
"Well nice to meet you Maria." I said with a warm smile on my face. She looked shock, but quickly fixed her face.
We began walking down 2 flights of stairs and I was finally presented to the kitchen. The kitchen was really big. There was an island in the middle of the kitchen ad the surface was marbled. There were two chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. "This is the kitchen ma'a- Aurora." She corrected herself. I looked at her and smiled.
"Thank you." I said.
"Do you need any help Aurora." She said. I noticed that her face was all red.
"I might need help cooking." I said. As we were cooking I noticed that she just wouldn't stop blushing. "Are you okay. Your face is all red. Is it because of the heat in the kitchen?" I questioned her, a bit worry if she was also not feeling well.
"N-no. I-It's nothing." Maria said with a wide smile on her face.
"Okay, but tell me if something is wrong." I said. We began to finish up the soup. I began to pour it into a bowl with Maria's help of course. "Do you mind giving this to Alexander." I said as I handed the soup to her.
"I don't think that sir would want me to give him the soup." She said with the soup in her hands and a towel under the bowl to protect her hands from the heat.

"I'm sure he won't mind." I said. I watched Maria disappear from the kitchen and so I started to clean up the mess. I knew the maids could just do it, but I didn't want to put such a burden of a mess since I am the one who caused it. I was done with the mess and so I decided to text Sarah that I might be here a while. Before I could send the text I heard a loud voice coming from Alex's room.
"GET OUT. WHERE IS AURORA." Alex yelled. I sighed and began my way up the stairs. I hope that Maria was okay I thought.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!

But through all of that. Can the two find love? Warning: unedited. Many mistakes within this book but I'm very slowly going through and editing chapters. Also, this book contains major character growth. These characters mature a lot from the first to second book so if you don't like them at first, you most likely will in the second book.
