The loud music played, and Tommie allowed the cocaine to take over her body. Climbing up on the pool she came down into a split. This had come easy to her, the money rained down on stage, she even thought about getting a little riskier. She was in her zone.

When her time was up, she walked around the club bumping into her boss, Ice. She bit down on her bottom lip, he was sexy as hell to her, they had sex often. She even tried to trap him a few times. He was going to be her way out. He always wore condoms.

Ice took Tommie's childhood, he was the first and only guy she'd ever love and have sex with. When she found out he was married her heart broke into a million pieces.

"When you gonna leave that bitch, so you can start eating this pussy again" Ice chuckled lowly, licking over his lips.

"Lets be real here Princess, you don't give a damn that I'm married, I'm just not fucking you anymore and that's your way of making yourself feel better"

He was right.

Tommie thought he was different. She thought he treated her different but in reality, she was just like the other bitches running around Miami. Ice fucked the other girls in King of Diamonds too.

Tommie did have something special though, she carried herself different around the customers during private dances. They loved the shy attitude, and feeling as though they broke her from her shell.

Princess

The name that held weight in the Gentlemen's club. She was the youngest, and the prettiest. The top requested. She did this 4 days out of the week, hating every moment of it. At age 16 she entered KOD, looking for a job to keep her mother and her mother's boyfriend off her back. If she couldn't find something soon, Mase was putting Tommie on the corner with the rest of those bitches.

By 18 she was accustomed to the lifestyle, but that didn't mean she hated it any less. Tommie was now on drugs snorting coke before every show. She wasn't addicted, she didn't do it every day, and all day. Just when she needed some energy to make a certain amount of money to keep her boss and Mase happy. Funny how she was working, and had to pay multiple people.

April 8th, it was Wednesday night. That night that changed her life. The block was empty, and her mother was pulling a late night shift. Mase was waiting outside for Tommie to get to her mother's home. Walking up the steps, she wanted nothing more than to go to bed, but Mase had other plans, he looked down on people like her, broke people. pushing Tommie down with all his power she fell on the bottom step. The scrape caused her to hiss in pain. She didn't know why he chose tonight to mess with her.

As he came down the steps to punch her, she grabbed the gun from her stockings sending two bullets through his stomach. It took seconds for her to realize what she had done she got up quickly, running into her house. Mase held onto his stomach following her, blood spilling from his stomach and mouth. When he took his last breath, he fell on the floor... She felt free. She hid the gun in the best way possible.

She returned to the living room, holding Mase she cried, calling 911, then his partner in crime Jay. Tommie did the perfect murder, not that the police would look into it anyways he was still a black male in the hood, one less that they had to worry about, they were close to taking him down anyways. Not too long after she met Dave, who took her from the strip club. His heart made of Gold, and so pure. The friendship grew, and she helped him set the enemies up. The day she packed up to move away from her mother's, her elderly neighbor Ms. Yvette stopped her.

"I turned a blind eye that night. I know what happened. I also know that I'm going to take it to the grave with me. He deserved that, you never allow a man to put his hands on you. Now you get away from here, and don't return."

She was free.

"Vanjie, Vanjie, Vanjie!"

His death drop was perfect, his makeup was perfect, his face was flawless, and he was taking this Drag thing serious. The crowd clapping gave him more energy, and he never broke a sweat.

He was a bad bitch.

At age 16 Danny stepped into his first drag club, it was a dream come true, seeing that he watched RuPaul drag race. Falling more and more in love with them, and their outgoing personalities. He invested his time and money into this profession.

A random Saturday night he met Alexis Mateo, her strong accent and personality mixed with his made them best friends. Age 18 Danny was Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. "Miss Vanjie, Miss Vanjie, Miss Vanjieeeee" the whole club sung the same tune as him. He was finally accepted by everyone in the club, when he knew his family wouldn't.

Vanessa Vanjie was his escape from reality. Danny described Vanessa as a Video hoe, whose style was 'Ghetto girl from Miami meets stripper pole'. She could do it all, she was a force to be reckoned, she could dance, move, walk and lip sync for the gawds.

On Danny's 19th birthday, he received a call that his best friend Alexis Mateo was stabbed to death for being dressed in Drag, he lost the only person that truly understood him. That was also the day his mother found out about him doing Drag.

"Danny, papi! what the hell is this that you're wearing?!" She shouted at him, He didn't know she would be home early that night, so he got dressed comfortably in the warmth of his home. The news he received was enough to make him quit Drag as a whole. He just didn't get rid of his makeup in clothes quick enough to hide from his mother.

"Ma, it's nothing please get out of my room" Waving her off, he grabbed the makeup wipe viciously wiping the perfectly done make up off of his face.

"This is my house! You've been hiding that you're gay Daniel?! No, no, no. No son of mine will be gay! I'm calling the pastor! We're about to give your ass an exorcism" She yelled out at him, walking out.

"Ma, I'm not talking to your money hungry ass pastor!" Danny yelled back at her, taking the wig off of his head. He didn't have time for his mother today, it was a push to the edge to make him to go crazy.

"You talk to him, or you get the hell out of my house!"

Danny shrugged changing out of his clothes, he packed his things. That night he went to the club, and sat there as they paid tribute to his drag mama. Danny loved her, and was thankful for the chance he got to meet her, and discover who he really was.

He got on his feet, and became the man he was today. He buried his drag the day he buried Alexis Mateo.

Reek jumped up from his bed, at 10 years old he constantly had to hear his mother become a victim of Domestic Violence. He wanted to help her. The woman he loved dearly. His heart, and soul.

He wanted to help his mother more than he wanted air to breathe, but the little boy was no match for a 35 year old man. Michael was an alcoholic, and once he got laid off his job at Smithfield, he started lashing out, as if his mother was the one that fired him.

"Mikey, baby I'm sorry." He heard his mother plead, Tyreek walked from out of his room to see a gun pointed at Michael's head. He was going to kill himself. Should Tyreek be sad? Wasn't his problem.

"No, you don't love me anymore you were going to leave me!" He cried out, he couldn't understand why Joyce tried to plead with him in the first place. He needed to pay for the pain he caused his mother. A thought flashed in Reek's mind to close his eyes, but they stayed glued on Michael, wanting to know if he really had the guts to blow his own brains out.

He did.

After Michael's funeral, Joyce and Reek packed up and moved North to Spanish Harlem. Expecting nothing less they lived in the Jects. Life was hard, but to say the least it was fun, of course after people stopped teasing him about his country accent.

"Ay, pass me the ball" Dave looked up, hesitantly tossing the ball to Reek.

"I bet you a .50 soda that you can't make that shot from there, if you don't make it you give me .50" Dave had hope that he wouldn't make it, he didn't have .50, and he could definitely use it.

When Reek made the hoop, he held his hand out for his money.

"Nah, I seen you move up. You cheating" Dave made up every excuse to keep Reek from getting the money he didn't have.

"You a whole lie and a half, you know I made that." He argued back with Dave, Reek noticed how people from New York often caught his accent and tested him, as if he didn't have hands to beat these niggas around him up.

"Man, I gotta go get it from my moms." Dave put his head down walking over to the ball, picking it up in his hands.

"You're good. My moms gave me 5 today." He held the 5 dollars up flashing it in his face with a smile. "What's your name?" Reek looked at Dave.

"David, but you can call me D, or Dave" He shrugged his shoulders, holding the ball.

"Reek, you wanna go to the store? Spend this 5?" He put the money back in his pocket, motioning for Dave to follow him to the store.

The friends were stuck like glue since, and at age 16 they made a promise to each other.

"Man, when we get older, we gone get this money together. Ain't no more of this broke shit. Our kids are going to be best friends, our girlfriends gotta be best friends, you gotta be my best man!" Reek and Dave dapped each other up. Two of those promises were coming true.

Maybe the crew came together for a reason. Maybe they were there to be each other's Balance. The happiness and fresh air they needed.
