The door bell rang, and Lin ran to the door: 'I'll go get it!'

Denise was sitting on her bed, kind of scared for what the day would bring. If she thought that the house was busy with crazy Lin and little Sebastian in it, she was wrong. Three women came in, and filled the hall with excited chatter. Denise slowly walked down the stairs, silently cursing herself: I shouldn't have said yes to going shopping with them. I don't even know them!

'Hey!' a dark woman noticed her: 'You must be Denise! I am Renée.'

'I am Pippa,' a Chinese-looking woman said.

'And Peggy!' the last woman said. "The Girls" and Lin burst out in laughter. Denise got confused, because she didn't know why they were laughing. The woman laughed too, and said: 'No, I'm Jasmine, but you can also call me Jazzy. I play Peggy and Maria in Hamilton, that's why I said that. You'll understand it when you see the show.'

'I'm not seeing the show,' Denise said.

'What?!' Jasmine said.

'Didn't you offer her tickets?' Pippa asked Lin.

Lin shrugged: 'I did, but she didn't want to see it.'

'Why not?' Renée asked.

'I don't like musicals,' Denise said.

'Well, I'm sure you'll like Hamilton,' Pippa said, 'It's not quite like other musicals. It has rap music in it!'

'Sounds miserable,' Denise mumbled.

'I believe it's pronounced "Misérables"!' Lin sang at full volume.

'Don't talk about Les Misérables!' Denise suddenly screamed, and she ran up the stairs. Jazzy, Pippa and Renée gave each other worried looks. Lin sighed: 'And there she goes again! But at least she pronounced Les Misérables right!'

'Hey,' Pippa said as she walked into Denise's room, 'Are you okay?'

Denise was lying on her bed, faced to the wall. 'Hm,' she grumbled, 'I don't want to see Hamilton.'

'You don't have to,' Pippa said, sitting down on Denise's bed, 'You don't have to.' She realised that that wasn't what really was bothering Denise, but she had an idea what wás. She softly stroke Denise's hair: 'It's hard, isn't it?'

'What?'

'Changing homes, getting new parents,' Pippa laughed: 'Having three crazy women bombard you when you're not settled yet.'

Denise shrugged: 'You get used to it. I have learned not to settle in a place, 'cause I never stay.'

'Lin and Vanessa won't give you up, I'm sure.'

'That's what you say,' Denise said, 'But I know better. It has never been anything else, would they be different? Don't make me laugh!'

'Hey, can I tell you a story?'

Denise sat up: 'Yes?'

'Three months ago, Lin and I went to the Graham Windham Foundation for Hamilton.' Pippa said, 'Do you know the Graham Windham?'

Denise shook her head.

'It's a foundation that helps foster children. They told us about the major problems in the foster care system and the things they did for the children. Both me and Lin were shocked by their stories. We didn't know there were so many problems in foster care, and we both wanted to help. They had alsotold us that there were never enough foster parents. That's when Lin decided that he wanted to adopt or foster a child. Lin and Vanessa don't need money or press attention. They're here to help, and I'm sure they won't give you up until you've found nice parents to adopt you.'

Jasmine and Renée came in.

'We were wondering where you were staying,' Jasmine said.

'So this is the room we're going to decorate?' Renée said, 'Well, it could indeed use some decorations!'

'To you, évery room could use some decorations!' Pippa said.

'Renée! Look!' Jasmine screamed, 'We need to go shopping clothes after we have everything for her room! This girl barely has any clothes!'

Denise laughed at Renée's shocked face.

A while later, they were driving to the store. Renée drove, Jasmine was in the passenger's seat, and Pippa and Denise were sitting in the back seat. Jazzy turned around: 'Denise, since you are not coming to Hamilton, do you want to hear our song?'

'I'd love to!' Denise said.

'I'll be Burr!' Renée said, her eyes on the road.

'Sweetheart, you can't flirt with yourself. Not even now!' Pippa laughed.

'Okay you do it then!' Renée said.

'There's nothing rich folks love more,

Than going downtown

and slumming it with the poor' Pippa started.

When the song ended, Denise applauded and laughed.

'And, do you still not want to see the show?' Jasmine asked.

Denise stopped smiling. 'No,' she said, 'Not even now. Stop bothering me with it.'

'Pippa, why don't you let her hear Burn?' Renée asked, trying to change the subject.

'No,' Pippa said, 'We're here to have a fun time, not to cry.'

Four hours later they had everything They needed. All sorts of decoration, mostly in pink and turquoise. Denise wanted to walk back to the car, but Jazzy pulled her back: 'Hey where are you going? We haven't bought you clothes yet!'

'I don't have any money left,' Denise said.

'We'll pay it for you, of course!' Renée said.

'No!' Denise answered, 'You've already paid for my lunch, you honestly don't have to buy me clothes!'

'Yes we do!' Jazzy pulled Denise to the closest clothing store.

In the clothing store Jasmine and Renée both ran off to find the most beautiful dress. Pippa stayed with Denise, and made their ways slower through the shop. In no time Jazzy and Renée came back. They both were carrying enormous amounts of clothes. Denise tried all of them on. The pileof clothes she liked grew fast, but not as fast as the pile of the clothes she didn't want.

Pippa held out a light turquoise dress: 'I also picked up a dress. I might not have as a good taste as those two, but I think it would look good on you.'

Denise tried on the dress, and when she came out of the dressing room all three Schuyler Sisters gasped.

'It's beautiful!' Jazzy exclaimed.

'It's perfect,' Renée whispered.

'Denise, look in the mirror,' Pippa said.

Denise looked in the mirror. The dress was half long. It left her back open, perfect for the coming summer. The light colour of the dress contrasted beautifully with her dark skin. She slowly turned around, the dress whirled aroundbeautifully.

'It's-' Denise said, looking for the right words, 'It's gorgeous.'

'That's an understatement!' Jazzy laughed, 'It's stunning!'

'Are you sure you want pay for all this?' Denise asked for tenth time on their way back home. Pippa was driving this time. 'Yes we are!' she said from behind the driving wheel, 'Stop now!'

'Hey Denise,' Renée said, 'have I already told you that I like your hair?'

'Really?' Denise said, 'I don't. It's untamable !'

'You should talk to Alysha, she has the same hair as you have!' Renée said.

'How did you guys spend so much time on shopping?' Lin whined, 'You stayed out all day!'

'Isa!' Sebastian crawled into the hall. Denise picked him up. 'Hi Sebbie! How was your day?'

Sebastian gave her a train.

'Oh is that your train?' Denise asked.

Sebastian nodded: 'Choo Choo!' then he gave her his other train: 'Toma!'

'He's given you his trains!' Lin screamed, 'Look, V, it's true love!'

'Denise?' Pippa asked, 'I know you don't want to see the show, but can't you at least come backstage? I want you to meet the cast.'

Denise looked up, and saw not only Pippa, but Lin hopefully staring at her. She sighed: 'How can I say no to a face like that? Okay, I'll come. But don't expect too much!'
