《A Dragon Rider's Element》The Egg ( 2 )

I had been walking in the gardens for about four or five minutes when I started to feel like I was being watched. I stop and looked around however I saw nothing. I pushed it off and keep walking. Only to see something out of the corner of my eye. When I turned my head to look. I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a person but before my eyes adjusted, it disappeared.
"Hello", I called into the darkness.
Nothing.
I'm so going to die.
I started walking again, this time, faster. I scanned my surroundings as I look for the figure again.
Nothing.
I still felt the eyes on my back as I kept walking. I stopped as I saw something shiny in the distance. And of course, I walk towards it as any smart person would do. Note the sarcasm. As I got closer to it felt like I was being dragged to it. Sounds crazy right? I pushed the bushes apart and for the first time, I saw it.
It was round and smooth. The color of the rock was a crimson red with a golden design. It was beautiful.
That's when I realized this wasn't a rock at all. It was an egg.
As I reached out to pick it up, it started to glow when my hand made contact with it. The glow got brighter and a shape came into the light. As the shaped cam fully into view, I realized what it was. But how was this possible?
A dragon.
The glow faded and a painful stinging erupted in my hands. Before I could investigate the pain, the egg started to pulse with white light, it got faster and faster. Then a giant shockwave erupted from the egg. Around me the bright skyscrapers and building of the Upper East side of Matthaten whet dark. They yelling of anrgy New yorkers soon filled the air around me.

Oops.
I later learned that the shockwave caused a blackout in East side of Matthaten. But the power came back on within the hour so it was fine. But this did included my building I so just crashed the party.
"Well, I didn't see that coming." A voice behind me said.
I wiped my head around see a tall man standing behind. He had sun blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes that seemed to shine. His face was flawless.
"Who are you?" I asked as I stood up from my place on the ground.
"My name is Tyranis, may I ask for yours?"
"What are you doing here," I asked in a venomous tone.
"I guess not. I'm here to make sure the egg finds its rider and I see it has. However, I didn't think it would be a girl."
"What does that mean?"
"Well, women are rarely chosen as a rider."
"Chosen?"
"Yes to be a dragon rider."
I stood, with a confused look evident on my face.
"Okay, Let me explain. Every century four men, or women in your case, from all across the world to be dragon riders. Their job is to stop the darkness that threatens to wreak havoc and destroy the world. In a war between the light and the darkness that wishes to destroy it. " He explained causally.
"Sounds fun", I said uneasily," But, how do you I'm the one who supposes to be the dragon rider?"
"For two reasons: One; the mark on your hand, and two; being the shockwave that just took out the electrical grid. That only happens when the egg finds its rider."
"The mark?"
He pointed at his hand and I looked down at mine and saw my new tattoo. The marking was just below my wrist. It was a small black dragon that curved into an "S" shape.

"Every rider has a mark, however, the markings themselves are different", Tyranis said walking up to me and showed me his hand. God even, his hands were hot. Crap, back to the point.
Like mine, there was a small dragon. However, his mark was a lot bigger than mine. The dragon sat sideways and its tail ran down his index finger. The small dragon's wings then stretched across the back of his thumb.
"Wow," I said impressed.
"Well, I think it best we talk with your parents then we go to the training camp in the Black Forest."
"Black Forest? Wait, that's in Germany! Are you serious?"
"Yes, did you think it would be in the middle of town. It's safer for people not to know about what we do. If the public knew about dragons, wars, and the darkness wanting to destroy the world, there would be panic."
"That's true, but you said we, does that mean you're a dragon rider too?"
He smirked and brought two fingers to his mouth and whistled.
Not a moment after that a huge dragon appeared out of nowhere.
"Holy peanut butter and jelly!," I yelled backing up. Tyranis only laughed as the dragon landed next to him.
"Relax, this is Raikou, my dragon."
The dragon made a series of different noises.
"Raikou says hi, and that he likes your dress."
"Um...thanks," I said eyes still wide with shock.
"A dragon and its rider have a telepathic link," He said to answer my unspoken question.
"When will mine hatch," I asked giddily, still in awe of the gold dragon in front of me?
Tyranis laughed once more before answering.
"Once the dragon and rider meet it will hatch within 24 hours of making their bond mark. Now then, I never caught your name" He stated.
"Larisa, Larisa Highlander."
"A beautiful name. You can call me Ty for short," Tyranis said picking up my egg and handing it to me.
Ty then told Raikou to wait there, to which he nodded and lied down crushing a few bushes and a small tree. He had no respect for landscaping.
Ty then started walking away but stopped when he saw I wasn't following him.
"Well come on it is best if we hurry so your egg hatches at camp."
"Where are we going?" I asked walking
"To talk to your parents and pack your things."
"Oh" was all I said.
The walk back threw the garden was silent. I guess Ty was giving me time to process all that just happened. And Boy did I needed it. My life just did a 180. But all I could think about was how hot this man was and how pissed my dad was going to be. He's so going to kill me.
That's if he believes me.

A Wheel Inside a Wheel
Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war. Their choices will shape their adoptive homelands forever, and their clash will decide the future of the galaxy. This story is broken up into volumes, each following one half of the conflict. You can read them in chronological order, or you can follow just Yang or Reinhard. See individual descriptions below. Part One - Speaking in Tongues When Yang Wen-li’s father dies, the only thing that he inherits is a mountain of debt, which can only be paid off with fifteen years of his life. Wanting to escape that indentured servitude, Yang flees his homeland and takes up a false identity in the Galactic Empire, a hyper-stratified society where stepping out of line is punishable with imprisonment or death. Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal. But Reuenthal and Yang both have secrets, secrets which could destroy both their lives and their newfound friendship. Dreamland
Dolores is a lucky girl with a high-level avatar in a very popular game. She did not level it up; she got it through some fortunate circumstances. She is not interested in fighting and levelling; all she wants is to have some fun and follow her own fantasies. If only there would not be all those idiots who intend to kill her, capture her, or simply use her. And those flaws in the game! Wait, what? Those pesky game characters now appear in the real world? And they can do magic? How did this happen? Adding to her troubles, her crush does not even look at her. As Dolores tries only to survive and hide between 'normal' people, she encounters stranger and stranger things that force her hand and, in the end, she has the answers to a lot of questions. It is a slow-developing story. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope to share it with you, dear reader if you also enjoy it. On the other hand, putting it in an acceptable form requires much work and energy. I intend to bring it to its end and not let it unfinished. I hate it when I encounter unfinished stories, so I understand the feeling. This is not a classical isekai story. There is travel between the two worlds, and the game world seems to be so very real... well, this is one plot of the story. This is not an MMORP game story. Part of the action happens inside a game world, but it is treated as a real world. Updates on a weekly basis, at least Monday and Friday, with additional bonus chapters as time and energy allow. Cover art: White Flower as A Dark Fairy by Darkrealmsmaiden Yolanda gracefully allowed me to use her dark fairy as cover. There are many more beautiful works of art to be discovered at her site: https://www.deviantart.com/darkrealmsmaiden Additional Grammar Trigger Warning: As a non-native speaker, I do my best. Unfortunately, this is not enough for people with a low tolerance for warped sentences and... they may want to skip the story :( Well, you have been warned :) I appreciate it when a reader points out a sentence that needs rework. That may spare a follow-up reader some pain and helps me understand where my English grammar problems are. * We thought we made the best game in Earth's history We thought we made the best interfaces ever seen We thought we made it - lifelike But it far exceeded our expectations. Dolores, I hope you're happy now. I hope you're alive now...
