Hope swarmed inside my chest.

You leaned into me,

lips brushing against my ear.

I froze.

"pig"

you whispered,

before pulling away.

Your friends' voices filled in the silence.

"useless"

"garbage"

"fat"

"waste of space"

My heart crashed,

it crashed hard

and I cowered away,

tears hiding behind my eyes.

I know you're right,

I know that I'm fat,

I know that I take up too much space,

and I know that I'm useless.

You and your friends snicker

and a smirk creeps onto your lips.

I just smile.

Because I'm fine

I'll be fine.
